He leaves me the keys, quickly grabbs and packs a bag, and walks out the front door. "Well that was easy." I say as I scratch the back of my head.
I am now back in the village I first came to when I was banished and I am looking for Kasia. Just as I'm about to give up I spot her heading out the east entrance of the village. I follow her wondering where shes going. I follow her through a huge open feild full of lush green grass. She continues until she comes across a huge Manson like building. She looks around half-heartedly and walks into the building. I follow warily. I see her look around in wonder. Just ahead of her are some other kids. They appear to be sneaking about. She follows them deeper into the house. I follow her making sure that I know where the exit is just in case. Suddenly there is a loud crashing sound and the kids scream and race away. Kasia looks up in fear. She yelps and turns to run. I hide behind a corner so she doesn't see me. She races past me and turns a corner. Just as she turns the corner I see what made them all scatter. A huge man was chasing after them swinging a bloody cleaver. He had on a bloody apron and was yelling, "GET OUTA MY HOUSE!" The sight made me want to run and hide. The man tuned the corner that Kasia had also turned. I heard a scream. I raced over just in time to see Kasia get swung at by the man. She barely dodged the cleaver as it sliced through the air. She ran passed the man in the direction that she had come from. I hide behind the corner. Just as she ran past I reached out and grabbed her around the waist. I put a hand over her mouth to silence her screams. The man ran past us. Kasia was breathing hard and shaking. I dropped my hand from her mouth but still held her out of sight of the hall that the man went down. She stayed quiet. When her breathing slowed I asked her, "What are you doing here?" She turned around, out of my grasp and said, "I could ask you the same thing." "You could but now is not the time. Come on." I said switching the subject. "But you just asked me-" She was cut off by the man yelling again, "GET OUT YOU FILTHY BRATS!" She jumped over to my side and got real close as if trying to hide behind me. I put my arm over her shoulder and pointed her in the direction of the door. "Is the ghost clear?" She asked looking up at me. I nodded and we took a run for it. We ran out of the house and kept running until our legs couldn't carry us anymore. Dropping down onto the grass we panted heavily. I looked over at her just as she did the same, and couldn't help but smile. "You know... That's the first time I've seen you smile." She said. "Really?" I ask still breathing heavily. "Yeah." She pants out. I look into her eyes to see that they are a blueish-green. "You know your eyes are a real pretty color. I love how they change." I said not realizing what I was saying. She looked at me startled and blushed she looked down. I reached over and lifted her chin up with my hand and looked deeply into her eyes. I lean forward and kiss her soft lips. I hear her gasp but she doesn't pull away. Instead she kisses me back. We pull away after a little while. I still have her chin in my hand. She blushes a bright red and pulls her chin out of my grip. As she does so my hand caresses her face. She looks down blushing deeper. We stand up after a few more minutes of rest and head back to the village.
I spend a few more days there with her, but I have to get back to my house. I give her a hug and I tell her with sadness in my eyes, "I have to go. Goodbye." She looks up at me startled. I pull away and turn to leave. As I'm walking away I hear he say, "Wait! Please don't go!" I don't look back I just leave. I left her standing there in the middle of the village with people walking past her. Oh how alone she must have felt. How hurt and confused she must have felt as she stood there staring off in the direction that I had left. If I had looked back I would have been greeted with the sight of tears running down her face. A face who's expression was that of pain and sorrow. An expression that showed the broken heart that I had created. Yet at the same time and expression that showed determination.
About a month had passed since I had left her standing there alone, and now it did feel like banishment. I was alone and depressed, but that was my own doing. That was because of my own stupidity. I deserved to feel this way. Yet what I didn't think about was how my action had affected her. There was a knock at the front door. I walked over and answered it thinking it was another person come to welcome me to the village. When I opened the door I was startled, no shocked, to see Kasia standing there. She looked tired and uncertain. "What are you doing here?" I asked and internally winced when I realized that I sounded angry. I saw her flinch. "Nothing." She said and turned to leave. I grabbed her before she could walk away. She gasped in startlement. I pulled her into the house and into a backwards hug and said, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to sound like that. I was just startled to see you here." I let her go and she turned around. I could see tears in her eyes. She quickly blinked them away though before they could fall. "I just wanted you to know that I'm going back home. I came to say goodbye." She pause taking a deep breath. " I never did get to say that when you left. So..." I could see that it was hard for her to speak. Before she could finish I stopped her with a kiss. As I kissed her I held her close so she couldn't get away. She did a little gasp and then kissed me right back. I felt relived. I pulled away and she looked down. I let her go so that I could pick her chin up and make her look me in the eyes. She backed up and when I held her chin she looked me directly in the eyes and said, "You hurt me all those days ago. I'm not going to let you do so again. I have to go." I was so startled that I let her pull her chin out of my hand. She turned to leave again and as she opened up the front door I grabbed her and pulled her back again. I closed the door, and spun her around so that she faced me. When she was facing me I said, "I am sorry I hurt you. Will you please forgive me?" She tried to pull away but I held her tight. "Please?" I asked again. She looked directly into my eyes and I saw her eyes change color. They changed to the same silver color as the time in the building with the game of Sorry. "Yes." She said softly. I leaned down and kissed her yet again. This time though there was no gasp. No there was just her kissing me back. When I pulled away she said, "I do have to leave though." I looked down into her eyes and saw that she was hurt. "When do you have to leave?" I asked. "Tomorrow late in the morning. This was the last stop before I left. I thought it would take me longer to find you, so I left early." She said looking into my eyes. "Good." I said as I picked her up. A look of surprise went through her eyes, and a gasp escaped her lips. I took her to my room where I laid her on my bed. I pinned her down so she couldn't get away. I was going to make this one of the most memorable things in all the time that she stayed here. I kissed her lips and said, "Don't worry."
The next morning I woke to find her curled up next to me with her head resting on my arm. She looked so peaceful lying there. I stroked her hair and she woke with a little, "hmmm?" Her silver eyes blinked up at me sleepily. Then she realized what day it was and what she had to do. I saw emotions fly across her eyes, but the one that stayed was sorrow. "Don't be sad. I will always be with you when you need me most." She closed her eyes and a single tear slid down her face. Before it slid all the way down I caressed it away. She opened her eyes and what I saw there was love.
And still to this day I watch over her waiting for her to need me. But I know that everyday she grows stronger, and the time of need slowly, painfully never shows.
