“Yeah yeah, alright. See you.” I waved back and shut the door, a sigh escaping my lips. I wasn't sure if I was relieved that the two had left or if I was just tired. Either way, I was going to nap for a few minutes and wait till the cookies were done.

My eyes fluttered open and I could make out a tall blurry figure hovering above me causing me to nearly jump out of my skin. I rubbed at my eyes as I shot out of the sofa and squinted.
“Oh, it's only you mom,” I said with a sigh of relief. “You scared me.” She had her hands on her hips and had one of her neatly plucked eyebrows arched. “...What did I do?”
“You nearly burnt the bloody cookies. I rescued them of course- Supermom to the rescue,” she laughed and flexed her arms jokily.
“Aha, sorry mom,” I told her, grinning sheepishly. I glanced at my old watch on my wrist that my brother had given me a few years back for my birthday. Shit, I'd been asleep for over 2 hours- That was not a nap.
“Well it's okay because I noticed that whoever had moved in next door has stopped moving things into their house and is now currently resting. Probably. Either way they're in their house.” She grinned at me and I understood what she was getting at. Geez, she was so easy to read that a telepath wouldn't have to use their mystic powers around her.
“I'll go and deliver them,” I muttered and shuffled off to the kitchen where she had packed the cookies into a metallic tin. You know those tins you get at Christmas full of sweets that people tend to keep and stuff all their needles and thread in? No? Well either way that's the kind of tin I'm talking about.
I quickly left the house with the cookies and the odd tin in tow and began to walk up my new neighbours pavement. I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck beginning to stand up and I shivered so hard it felt like a bolt of electricity had gone straight down my spine and had rattled all my insides. I wasn't scared... no, this was something weird. Something odd. Something I just couldn't quite put my finger on.
I hesitated before raising my fist knock the door and it quickly swung open. I took a step back in surprise and blinked. In front of me there was a tall teenage male with a bright red jumper loosely clinging to his body and I noticed a long strand of it had been pulled out of it- it had probably been snagged on something. He ran his fingers through his chocolate brown curls and looked straight over my head as if I wasn't even there. Yes, he was tall (he may have been about 6ft 1) but that was just uncalled for. I coughed and he looked down, a frown forming across his face.
“Hi. I live next door and my mom sent me over to deliver these cookies,” I mumbled. Ugh get a grip Hannah, speak louder for Christ's sake.
He continued to stare at me and stayed silent. His eyes felt like he was studying me and I suddenly felt rather uncomfortable. I held the cookies further out, trying to urge him to take the cookies so I could just get the fuck away. He just kept staring at me and it felt like his emerald eyes were boring holes into my face.
“Is there something you want to say?” I asked, staring back.
He stayed quiet before finally replying, “I hate you.”
What?
“What did you just say?”
“I know you heard exactly what I said so there's no point in me repeating myself,” he told me. Who the hell did this guy think he was? I could feel my cheeks beginning to burn and my fingers clenched around the metallic tin.
“That's kind of rude, don't you think?”
“No, I don't think it was rude. I just don't think I've ever met someone I dislike as much as you.” My mouth hung open at his reply.
“Excuse me? You don't even know me so how can you be so sure you don't like me?” I asked lividly.
“I just don't. Now, it was really nice seeing you but I think it's better if you leave and don't come back,” he told me before swiftly taking the tin of cookies out of my hand and slamming the door shut in my face. What. The. Hell. That was the most humiliating- no, the most degrading moment of my life! I'd never met someone so rude in my life! He didn't even know me and the first words he'd ever said to me were 'I hate you'. Who does that?!
I stomped off down the pavement, absolutely seething with anger. I swear if my life was a weird cartoon you'd see that odd red aura surrounding me as I stormed off. Luckily enough this isn't a cartoon and this is life. I scowled and kicked the curb, trying to send a few rocks into the air to express my anger like they do in the films. Instead I managed to topple over and fall into the road, a scream echoing around me as I saw two bright lights coming towards me. I suddenly realised that it was me screaming and that the two bright lights were the headlights of a truck heading towards me before my vision went black.
Two years ago... I killed a man. Okay maybe I didn't- but you don't know that for sure- but what you do know is that two years after I trod on my pet beetle, I died.

Chapter Two“..ing around...”
There was a sharp pain drumming in my head as I opened my eyes to check my surroundings. My vision was blurry and dark and the colours that were around me were swirling and merging together so that I could barely make out any of the objects around me.
“...She okay?”
“I think she's coming around.”
I blinked a few times and the sharp stabbing pain began to calm down, my vision becoming more clear. There were at least three faces gathered around me and I shot up out of my seat, only to find that my legs had buckled underneath me and gave way so that I could have a lovely one to one with the floor.
“Here.” A girl with flaming red curls falling around her face helped pull me up and place me onto the sofa.
Wait... sofa? Who's sofa was this? It certainly wasn't mine. I stared up at the four strangers surrounding me, waiting for an explanation.
“What's going on?” I asked with a frown when I realised no one was giving answers.
“Are you going to tell her or am I?” A tall male with a curly blonde mop threatening the view of his eyes turned to the others.
“Well you remember how we broke it to Amber, she thought we were mental. I never thought I'd expect to find another one of us living around here when we've only just moved.”
Another one of them? What, a teenager?
“I'm not speaking to her, you can count me out.” I glanced to where the voice had came from and my mouth dropped open. The person who had spoke was my new next door neighbour- the rude one. Wait, I'd only met him a few minutes ago before I'd blanked out. How on earth did I blank out?
I thought hard as the group of people surrounding me began to mutter amongst themselves about 'breaking it to me'. I thought back to me leaving his house. I'd furiously stormed off and kicked the side of the curb- managing to somehow fall into the road. There were two bright lights coming towards me- ahh, I remember now- they were headlights. So if there were headlights coming towards me then wouldn't that mean that I got run over?
“Ohmygod, am I in heaven?” I gasped. It made sense, I mean... how else would I able to be move right now? I should be dead- no, I am dead. I glanced over at my curly haired neighbour and frowned. If this was heaven and he was an angel then why the fuck was he so rude- holy shit... I'm in hell.
“You're not in heaven-” A female with a black slick bob started.
“I'm in hell, I fucking knew it. Ohmygod, are you guys demons who are going to spit roast me? I taste like crap, I promise you that you wouldn't want to eat me!” I began to panic and looked at the group of teens with wide eyes.
“You're not in hell either, idiot,” the prick next door spoke up.
“Well where else am I?” I asked with a scowl prominent on my face.
“You're on earth, why the heck do you think you'd be in hell?” The blonde one spoke again.
“Because I got by a truck.... didn't I?” Had I remembered it wrong? Maybe it was a dream.
“Well actually the truck missed you and you passed out.”
“Don't lie to her, Amber,” the girl who was sporting the black bob was frowning at the red haired female who I'm guessing went by the name Amber.
“But Aya-” Amber started.
“No buts. None of you wusses will tell her so I'll explain to her.” Aya sat down beside me and smiled. “Look here kiddo, the truth is that you're a Virus. We're not sure what power you have but you escaped that truck in one piece, completely unharmed so we know for a fact you must be at least a C class Virus.”
“A Virus? What, you mean that I'm a common cold floating around in someone's body?” I asked knitting my eyebrows together. The tall male who lived next door scoffed and rolled his eyes at my question.
“Scott, don't roll your eyes at her, I can see what you're doing.” How on earth could she see what he was doing? It wasn't like she had eyes in the back of her head. She shook her head and gave me a sympathetic smile. “No, not at all. To put it quite simply, you have super powers.”
I blinked at the last sentence, replaying what she had just told me in my head. Maybe she was on drugs? She did look a bit pale and gaunt now that I thought about it. She turned around to face Scott and arched a brow as if awaiting an answer to a question she'd never asked.
“I don't fucking know, I can't tell for some god damn reason,” he grumbled and crossed his arms over his chest, wearing a frown on his face. I was really tempted to tell him that if he kept frowning he'd have his face stuck like that
