enraged by their peeping tom chose to neglect his modesty, storming towards Penny as naked as the day he was born. For some reason she couldn’t look away, it was like her head was locked in place, her eyes glued to this man. She had no idea of his identity; she’d never seen him in her life before yet somehow she knew him. From some time or some place she knew who he was, what he was like. In that instant a sense of betrayal flooded through her as she realised this man had been cheating on her, with this piece of trash.
“What on earth are you doing in my home you weirdo! Who do you think you are coming in here, spying on me and my girlfriend!” the guy spat.
“How could you Enrico!? How could you cheat on me again!” Penny cried.
A look of pure confusion engulfed his face as he tried to make sense of the situation.
“Enrico? My name isn’t Enrico? Who the hell are you!” he shouted.
Rage etched across his face, his brown eyes squinting in bewilderment. His brown hair was flat, plastered to his scalp, his chin covered in stubble. She could see Enrico in her head cuddling her and kissing her and then the image of him sleeping with some other woman.
“When we have a child too! How sick are you!” she whispered.
He just stared at her his face cringing. She was crying now, her face a flood of tears, snot dangled from her nose, her eyes red and bloodshot. Enrico didn’t seem sorry; he really couldn’t care less about what he’d done to her. Fury incensed her once more and she grabbed a golf club that was lying by her side. Immediately Enrico stiffened his eyes fixed on the golf club. He still remained naked but he had lost sight of that fact a long time ago, the moment this nutter had walked into his home. He put his hands straight up in front of him as in surrender.
“Please… just put it down, I don’t know who you are or what you’re doing here but I’m sure we can talk about this civilly if you remove the weapon!” Enrico pleaded.
His words just made her even angrier, how could he say he didn’t even know her! They’d lived together for ten years; they had a five-year-old boy called Alfie. As Enrico made a lunge for the golf club true, ferocious anger possessed her, her face curling into a snarl. She took a step back lifting the golf club above her head.
“Stop it’s the necklace, it’s possessed you, the spirit has possessed you!” A familiar voice screamed.
Confused she whirled around the club still risen high and smashed it straight into the side of Steven’s face. A drop of blood rolled down his temple and he fell to the floor, his hand plastered to his face. She whimpered, the golf club dropping to the floor beside her. The shock of hitting her boyfriend made the mists begin to clear, enabling her to see the world for what it really was. Behind her she heard a gasp and turned her head, her immediate thought to be both shocked and embarrassed by the naked man standing by her. Where was she? Who was he! And more to the point what had happened to Steven?
“He said the necklace…” the man started.
She turned around to look at him and his eyes settled on the chain around her neck; his gaze directed at the pendant. The green gem seemed to be glowing the brightest shade of green he had even seen; like the madness in the necklace had been fed evermore. That necklace was infamous in this family, countless women having found it become possessed and try to kill their cheating, no good husband. But the necklace isn’t picky, it almost always gets it wrong—as long as its power line is fed the madness would continue. The necklace had to be destroyed, as he gazed at it he saw a surge of green flash through the gem, saw the girls hands reach for the club…
