they waited for the wagon to take them home.
“ Where is your brother?” her mother asked.
“ He will be home soon.” She answered.
“ I hope he is with Tristan. They make a lovely couple.”
Mona looked at her mother.
“Yes , dear I know. I have eyes and was young once you know.”
Krista helped her undress. She brushed the long auburn hair and asked.
“ Did anything happen at the party?”
“Why do you ask?”
“ You have a blush spot on your back that is pink.” Krista laughed.

Part Three

“I see you have returned.” Mpaka stood at the door.
“Yes.”
“ Your Mother tells me you have found your Soul Mate.” His Father towered above His son. He was over seven foot tall and even though Faron was almost as tall he still seemed so much bigger. Faron looked into his eyes and told him about Mona.
“ I see.” Mpaka patted his son on his cheek.
“ We will talk tomorrow.” Faron spent the night in dreams of Mona. As Mona did of Faron. The two knew that they were meant for each other. They also knew that they were in a storm of epic proportion.
As the sun rose so did Mona. She could not sleep. They kitchen help shooed her out as she seemed to be underfoot. Then her own mother Cora sent her into the garden because she was interfering with her morning routine. Mona was just to excited about seeing Faron again that she could not calm down.
“Eat, girl.” her father begged.
“ I’m not hungry.” She played with her food.
“First you are bothering everyone. Now you are not hungry.”
“ I want to go into town for awhile.”
“ Why?”
“ Just to see things.”
“ What things?” Her mother asked.
“ Things.” Mona kept her eyes on her plate.
“ Alright. But be back for dinner. ”
“Bye Momma. I love you.” She hugged her mother then ran upstairs to dress for her meeting. Before long she was on the edge of town.
Mona had never been in town alone even though she had turned sixteen four months ago and wanted to see things like the library, the bakery, the clothes store and the book store. In the book store she hoped to find anything on the New Comers. She knew that there was an outside chance that there was something on what they looked like. Mona stopped and looked at her self in the window. She liked the blouse as it fit tight and the color flattered her skin. The jeans hugged every curve. She hoped he would like it.
Faron Sat in his father’s study. Mpaka was pacing.
“ I know that she is my Soul Mate.” He looked him on the eyes.
“ Yes I think she is. Yet do you understand what might happen when you tell her. And you will tell her about who you truly are. ”WE will help you as much as is possible.” He kissed his only son on the head and walked out. Leaving Faron to think. The clock struck eleven and he hurried towards the fog and Mona. As he got closer to the fountain he heard his father‘ voice.
” You must tell her”.
“ I know. But not now.” he saw her sitting there so different that last night but just as desirable. In fact he seemed to burn with a deep need for her.
“ There you are . I thought you might stand me up. As we have not been formally introduced.” Mona giggle as she was a little nervous.
“ I would never do that to you my lady.” He took her hand and they spent the afternoon walking and talking. Faron avoided questions about his family as best he could and Mona seemed satisfied, for the moment.
“I must go . I am expected at dinner.” Mona squeezed his hand.
“ When can I see you again?”
“My parents are going out tomorrow come to our garden after sunset.”
“ Until then. I will miss you.” They kissed a long time and reluctantly parted. Mona watched him until she could no longer see him. Faron thought that he was walking on the wind as he walked
Back to the fog. That night his sister, Chima decided to pay a visit to Mona. She sat on the garden wall . Then climbed up the trellis and sat on the window sill. As Mona brushed her hair she caught sight of a very large cat sitting on the sill.
“ Well hello there. Where did you come from?” Mona picked her up and placed her on the bed.
“ I haven’t seen you before. Welcome.”
Chima decided to just watch not to say anything to scare Her.
“ Are you hungry?” And she checked her snack tray to see if there were any decent leftovers. She placed a piece of cheese on the bed and Chima was hungry so she had a bite , then two, then she finished it.
“ Good. Did you like it ?”
Chima purred in response. She liked this Terran female. Yet Chima felt that there was more to this girl. She could see why Faron fell for her. Satisfied Chima rubbed against Mona then exited the way she had come.
“ Goodbye. Hope you come again.” Called Mona as Chima leaped off the wall and into the night.

Part Four

“ I want to know who this fellow is that was with Mona at the party!” Talbot whined to his father.
“ Ask her. You fool she will be your wife soon so let her do what she wants for now. After the wedding you tell her when and where to go. You could teach her a lesson about her behavior.“
“ True. But If he is a problem I will kill him.” Talbot broke the wine glass he was holding and left to find better company at the closest bar.
Mona spent the day with her mother looking at fabric for her wedding dress .
“ Stop wiggling. One would think I was trying to kill you.” Cora was getting annoyed.
“ But Momma. The wedding is months away. “
“ No Dear, its weeks not months. Now do you like this?”
“ Weeks?” Mona silently cried. No she was not ready and definitely not willing. She spent the last of the time trying to hurry this up. She needed to talk to Faron. The evening was not getting here soon enough. Cora and Jacob were having dinner at the Mayor’s home. She could not wait for them to leave.
“ See you in the morning.” as she waved to her parents as they left. She knew that Seth would head out to see Tristan. The servants had left for the day and Krista had gone to the cottage behind the garden where she lived. Faron would be here soon. Then there was a knock at the door.
“Greenway! What are you doing here uninvited?”
Talbot pushed his way inside’
“ This is a reminder call.”
“ A what?”
Talbot slapped Mona. She fell. As he stood over her he repeated.
“A reminder call. I am your master and you are my property and now you need a lesson as to what happens if you disobey me!.” Talbot began to beat her.
“ You will never be my Master!!” Mona cried as he hit her again and again.

Seth and Tristan were heading back to the house because Mona was all alone and they thought it would be nice to cheer up his sister.
As they came up the drive Talbot raced passed them on his horse. He had heard the laughter as they walked up the steps. Seth noticed blood on his shirt.
“ Oh God. Mona!!!” He screamed as he ran up the steps. Once inside he found her lying on the White marble floor of the Great Room. Tristan was close on his heels.
“ Seth go after him I will care for her. Hurry before he gets away!” She knelt next to Mona and cradled her head. Satisfied that she was alive She began yelling for any Servant that might still be there.
Seth knew where Talbot was going and took a short cut. As Talbot came around the corner Seth stood waiting.
“ What are you doing!” As he reigned in the horse.
“ You will pay for your actions!!!”
“Out of my way idiot.’ And he spurred the horse forward. Seth side stepped and dragged him out of the saddle
Faron arrived at Mona’s. There was chaos every where. There on the couch was Mona. She bloodied and bruised. She looked as if she was dead. Krista, her maid touched his arm.
“ It was Talbot. Seth has gone to find him. Hurry !!”
Faron rushed out side and in the dark allowed himself to turn back into his true shape. He raised his face to the wind and followed Seth’s scent.
He came upon Seth struggling with Talbot. With one great leap he knocked Seth backwards. Talbot pulled a small gun and pulled the trigger three times hitting him in the shoulder, chest and fore arm.. Seth wrestled the gun away then he shot Talbot pointblank. Just before He died Talbot had one last taunt.
“ I should have fucked her!”
“Faron. Are you Alright?” Seth stood up. Faron seemed stuck between shapes. He could see the wounds and the blood that flowed.
