Taking place in the small town of Conifer, Colorado Summer Jewel tries to deny her own nature; the thirst for blood. She attracts some unwanted attention though from the elders who find her a threat to the vampire population. Meets a boy's father who happened to be a guard, and almost getting caught…she hides in the mountains. Summer is hiding from the elders, falling desperately in love and breaking a few hearts without knowing it.
