is quiet. I toss and turn. Laying sideways, I end up looking at the wall.

Despite the phone call from Grayson, today was a pretty nice day. I enjoyed my hike with Kyst this morning. It was lovely of him to make lunch for us. I liked getting to know more about him. Underneath his handsome good looks, he is also a very kind and caring person.

Not to mention a really great kisser. I can’t fight my smile as I think about that incident. That was fun. Probably my favorite thing about today. That kiss was so different than my horrible first kiss. I still shudder thinking about it. Kissing Kyst was so different from Grayson. I liked it so much. I would definitely kiss him again. I wish I could. I don’t know if that will happen. I think I kind of ruined things by running out of the kitchen this afternoon.

There is a light knock on the door. I sit up quickly, my heart pounding. “Um, it’s me. Sorry to wake you, but I found your snake,” Kyst says through the closed door.

“How is that possible?” I mutter to myself. I get out of bed, turn on the light then I quickly open the door. Kyst is standing there with his arm held outwards. The boa constrictor is wrapped around it.

“I’m so sorry! I have no idea how he got out. The door is closed,” I apologize.

“It's all right. He was in my room. Did you want me to put him back in there?” Kyst asks.

“Yes, if you can,” I answer.

Kyst walks into the room. He opens the bathroom door and heads inside. “Do you need help?” I ask nervously, not sure if I want him to see me in only my t-shirt.

“No, I got it.”

I sit on the edge of the bed with the sheet pulled up over my legs. A few minutes later, he walks out of the bathroom and closes the door behind him.

“I’m sorry. I really don’t know what happened,” I apologize nervously

He shrugs. “That’s okay. No harm done. Huggie’s just a curious guy,” Kyst answers.

We share a friendly smile. I laugh a little. I enjoy Kyst and his good nature. He makes me feel relaxed and happy. I want to keep this feeling. I don’t want him to leave.

“Tell me about your job. It must be exhilarating,” I prompt.

I watch as his face lights up with enthusiasm. He sits beside me on the bed. I turn to look at him. My toes are inches from his legs. His blue eyes are lit up with excitement, and there is a happy smile on his face.

“Okay, so it all started way back when I used to be a movie star,” Kyst explains. I gasp a little in shock. He laughs. “It's true—when I was a teen. Sure, it was fun at first, and the money was great. But that kind of life gets old really fast. Eventually, you want a break or your own privacy. That’s what happened to me.” I give an understanding nod of my head as he continues talking. “I left show business because I wanted to be left alone. I couldn’t even walk down the street without someone recognizing me. I just wanted to live my life and have a job that I could feel good about. A job where I could help people.”

Kyst glances up at me. My eyes are fixed on him. I’m so intrigued by his story.

“So, I moved here to rural Montana. I bought this property first, then got a job at the local fire house. Now I can save lives for real instead of pretending to in the movies,” he admits with a bit of a smile.

“Wow! You’ve certainly lived an exciting life.”

I’m a little in awe of him. He laughs, and I find myself blushing. I can’t take my eyes off of him. He seems more handsome than he did this afternoon. I can’t stop staring at his face, at his lips.

Feeling bold, I decide to take a chance. I lean forward and place my hands on his cheeks, feeling his stubble. I start kissing him. Gently he kisses back. His lips open, and his tongue slips into my mouth to dance with mine.

I lay back on the bed with him above me. My arms wrap around his neck. We kiss harder with more intensity. I can feel his muscular body pressing against me. I never knew making out could be this hot.

As we continue kissing, Kyst’s hands undo the buttons on my blouse, opening it to reveal my bra. He kisses my neck and throat, down to my chest—sending shivers all over my body. This feels too good to stop. He pulls my bra down. My breasts spring free. He kisses and sucks each one. His tongue twirling around my nipples. This is new to me. I didn’t know guys could do this. It feels so good.

I’m distracted by the action at my breasts and don’t notice where his hands are. Suddenly I feel them at the waist of my pants. My body stiffens. I sit up quickly.

Kyst is pushed to the side of me. “Is everything okay?” he asks with concern as he sits next to me.

I’m a little embarrassed, but I need to tell him. “Well, it’s just that I don’t think I’m ready for things to go that far yet. I’m still a virgin,” I admit in a soft voice.

I hope he heard me, at the same time I’m worried about what he will think of me. I can’t meet his gaze, but I feel his arms gather me into a gentle hug. I turn to look at him. His eyes are filled with such tenderness it melts my heart.

“I completely understand. We don’t have to do anything more. Have a good night.”

He gives me the sweetest of kisses on the lips. I watch as he gets off the bed and leaves the room. Before he closes the door, he gives me
