and sensually thrusting in and out of her again as his manhood began to pulse back to life. It was a far less frenzied pace and a far more emotional one. His face was buried in her neck, inhaling her essence, as his hips moved in the primal rhythm.

“Dray,” Gavriella gasped. “Oh… Dray…”

Her hands found his taut buttocks and Andreas responded by covering her mouth with his, his kisses hot and tender. The pace was slower now, his thrusts as gentle as they could be. When Gavriella shifted and opened her legs wider to him, welcoming him deep for a second time, he held her pelvis fast against his. He rubbed himself against hers, grinding against her, and when Gavriella’s tremors begin again, he thrust into her, hard, before releasing himself in another, shorter, burst of glory.

The fire in the hearth snapped softly as heavy breathing filled the room. Andreas lay atop his wife, his body still joined to hers, thinking a great many things at that moment. Mostly, he was astounded. He hadn’t known it was possible for him to climax twice in a row like that but, then again, everything with Gavriella had been something new for him. A love he never expected, a wife he was deeply in love with, and a new son that he loved as if the child were his own flesh and blood.

So many wonderful, unexpected things for the young man who had felt so alone in life, for the knight who had been going through life alone. But he was alone no longer.

And loving every minute of it.

It was the life he’d always wanted and never even knew it.

When Andreas rose a couple of hours later, after bedding his wife one more time, he pulled his clothes on, without his boots, and headed to his grandparents’ chamber to retrieve his son.

His son.

He found his grandfather asleep with the baby on his chest again and it took both Jordan and Andreas to separate the pair with the promise that William would get to hold his great-grandson again on the morrow. Andreas carried the sleepy baby all the way back to his chamber, putting the infant to bed between he and his wife.

As Gavriella and Storm fell back asleep, Andreas lay awake long into the night, watching the pair sleep, wondering how on earth he’d become such a fortunate man. For someone who had known such grief and loneliness, deeply affected by his mother’s death as a lad, to a man whose cup of abundance was running over, he kept going back to what Gavriella had said, time and time again.

I feel as if I am dreaming.

Andreas, too, felt very much as if he were dreaming. And he was quite willing to go on dreaming because the life he’d ended up with was something only spoken of in dreams and fairytales, where a dashing knight rescues a damsel in distress and lives happily ever after.

For Andreas and Gavriella, those dreams and fairytales became reality for them both and Andreas knew, wherever his mother was, that she would have been proud. Proud of that unexpected son who had grown into a fine and honorable man, and a noble tribute to his father and grandfathers.

Aye, his mother would have been proud, indeed.

The de Wolfe and de Norville legacies lived on… through him.

Always.
