problems going on and Gamble’s asking if some of our brothers can come up for a visit,” he says just as my phone buzzes on the desk. Ignoring it, I narrow my gaze on my VP.

“What the fuck? Gamble isn’t one to ask for help.” I mutter as my phone buzzes again. Lifting the phone enough to glance at the screen my vision turns red at the message.

Unknown: Don’t think you can have what is mine. She will never be yours. I marked her and I’ll never let her go. The scars should be all the proof you need. Say goodbye now because I’ll be taking what’s mine and killing that abomination that you put in her.

Beneath the message are pictures. One of Emery by herself, another with our son, then one of the two of us outside the motel the day after I got her back.

Motherfucker.

“Get everyone to church now,” I snarl.

“What’s happened?” Bane demands as he pulls his phone out of his pocket to text the rest of our brothers.

Tossing him my phone, I let him see for himself after he shoots off the group text to everyone.

“Fuck. This dude has a fuckin’ death wish,” Bane growls, handing my phone back to me.

“That fucker is asking for a bullet to the head,” I snap as I stand from behind my desk. “I want Ram to see if he can track this number. We’ll bring up Gamble’s situation in church as well. See who all wants to go up.”

Storming from my office I scan the main room looking for Emery when I find her sitting at a table with Stone, I feel a semblance of relief. Walking over there I ruffle my son’s hair earning a grin from him as I lean in to capture Emery’s mouth with a searing kiss. Pulling back from her I hold her gaze. “Don’t leave this room, am I understood?”

“Okay. Is something wrong?” She asks.

“Don’t worry about it, I’ve got it covered,” I mutter, giving her another kiss.

“Gross. You’re not gonna be doing that all the time are you?”

Shaking my head at Stone’s fake gag, I turn to look at my kid and grin. “Get used to it Bud, not gonna stop,” I chuckle.

“Great y’all are gonna scar me for life,” he grumbles before looking back down to what he and his mom had been doing. Pulling away from Emery I glance down as well to look for myself. I’m speechless at the drawing he was sketching.

Stone had drawn all the members of the club standing together. Without any of us posing.

Holy shit this kid still amazes me.

“It was supposed to be a surprise. He’d wanted to give it to you for your birthday with the others.” Emery whispers.

“Others?” I ask, confused by the statement.

“Since he could pick up a crayon and start doodling, Stone has been drawing. At first it was me that started saving them for you one day. Then when he was six, he asked if he could draw you one for your birthday when we’d been in the kitchen making a cake to celebrate it.” My heart pounds within my chest, fuck if I don’t want to kiss this woman more. She’s done everything to give my son his dad without me even being there.

As fucked as the situation is, a part of me wants to completely let go of the anger against my wife.

Clearing my throat, I glance away from them. I need to get to church and get this shit handled. Maybe after everything is taken care of, I’ll be able to forget about it but not now. I need the anger to fuel my need for vengeance against those who fucked up our lives.

Besides, I don’t think I’ll ever be the same man I was for her. Not when I have so much hatred filling my heart and soul. My hands though have never been clean, they are stained with more blood than I’ll ever admit.

Ruffling Stone’s hair one more time, I turn and stalk toward the room where we hold church. Stepping into the room I’m followed by the last of our brothers, Blood.

Sitting in my seat at the head of the table, I bang my fist on the table. “We’ve had two things that have come up today that need to be addressed, but we also need to talk about a shipment of guns that Ghoul has requested. First things first, we need a couple of you to head up to the Baltimore charter. Gamble and her club are having some problems that need to be taken care of,” I mutter.

“I’ll go,” Blood growls, his fist clenched. I figured he’d want to go considering the secret he holds. I don’t even think Gamble knows. Only reason Bane and I know about it, is because he trusts us with his life. He’d confided in us after killing a man who resembled someone from his past but it’s not my story to tell.

“Alright. Take Lock-Tight, Toxin, and Dip with you,” I order. That gives the Baltimore charter two of my brothers and two prospects to help.

“Now the main reason I’ve called church. You all know Emery and our story. I’ve made no secret about wanting the man who I thought killed my wife. The Alcazar Cartel have kept this fucker hidden and he’s come out of hiding. I just received a text message with images attached. Ram, I want you to see if you can’t track him down,” I say sliding my phone across the table to my brother. I know if he can’t find anything, he’ll get Pooh to help him out.

“I’ll see what I can do,” he mutters as he catches the phone.

“Good. What do you think of calling Capone’s charter and have him go make some fireworks down in Mexico? It’s time for these people to learn we’re not to be made a fool of. And we protect our own.”

Before I even finish speaking, my brothers are all nodding their head in agreement
