She flips back to Ashley, focuses on wordlength of her personal obit, very short. Another giveaway clue, she’s alive, not dead. CIA has to fake it for that reason, alone. She giggles, lightly.
However, Thurston is wordy and long coveringhis personal hobbies and interests revealing more clues of aliveAshley and dead Thurston. Pamela sighs, breathes, deeply. There’snothing here pinpointing Ashley’s current hidey hole. Both articlesdo mention specifically parents are dead along with fake deaths ofAshley ruling out possible search by telephone or street addresses.CIA is good but Pamela is best. She giggles, lightly.
She decides, quickly to print hard copies ofobituaries for studying & places one quarter into slot asmachine grinds & gurgles spitting paper then repeats, swiftlyprocess for Ashley’s obit.
Pamela glides, slowly off stool thenstretches her arms over head & leans backwardly lengthening hercrunched spinal cord. She lifts, slowly backpack, dumps overshoulder blades moving to vendor machine for Coke and potatochips.
She sits, quietly in eating lounge munchingon food items, studies, academically both obits side by side.
Common features for both include buried atsame graveside, verified birth dates and married.
One different obvious feature is thatThurston was treated for his fatal injuries at Brookdale Hospital.Ashley’s obit didn’t mention any clinical medical center forinjuries/wounds.
So, that means to Pamela that Ashley musthave been treated there also since both worked for CIA on samemission.
Medical treatment implies medical records.Medical records require patient privacy information like telephonenumber, address and other contact data. That’s Joint Commissionregulation cited by Federal Government governing all hospitals inUSA.
Pamela plans to visit Brookdale Hospitalafter she figures how to get inside, not tattled by real workinghospital nurses, not arrested by police and not found by Geneva. She’ll ponder that later.
Second differential feature is Thurston’slong list of interests. Pamela thinks CIA went overboard but maybeAshley’s a boring person, or just caution.
Pamela reads listing of hobbies. “Spelunking, cave dancing. Who in their right sane mind would jump around anyenclosed dark slick object for fun?” She giggles, lightly. “Thathobby is usually but not unique inside them high mountains ofAlabama.” She giggles, lightly. She’s imitating Preston and hisirregular Southern vocabulary words because she’s been hanging toomany days with the suave and dreamy Southern gentleman. She smiles, lovingly, then flips, mentally to task.
Birmingham is surrounded by tippy end ofAppalachian Mountains creating lots of fun outside activities forathletics, students & family members. She doesn’t do mountainclimbing or cave descending but other fun sporting activities. Shehopes one day she can share her personal activities with Prestonbut that’s looks like a negative 1000.
Some obituaries mention what people die ofbut not here. Pamela still believes they were part of CIA missionrequiring a little more investigation.
Pamela paces, steady back to NewspaperArchives, gets comfortably while typing different key words intolocal database searching articles related: CIA, BOA, TAG, IT,Ashley Slanton, Thurston Slanton.
No CIA articles of spies in Birmingham,Alabama, Pamela isn’t particularly surprised there. She giggles, lightly.
No BOA articles of either slippery snakes, orfluffy feathers in Birmingham.
Six different articles refer popular child’sgame: Tag - You’re It!
Pamela reads, silently, scratches, accuratelyword “child’s game” onto rough pad.
Tag - You’re It! The outdoor game is playedby kids anywhere from a park to a backyard providing good exerciseand lots of excitement. This game is an elimination game so thosetagged drop out of play. There are many variations including:Octopus tag, Duck, Duck, Goose tag; Band-Aid Tag, Team Tag; TunnelTag and Zombie Tag.
Pamela skims, slowly article for the group ofEnglish words: “Team Tag.”
Team Tag consists of cops and robbers tagsplit into two teams: cops (the “it” team who are in pursuit) androbbers (the team being chased). The cops arrest the robbers bytagging them. The game ends when all are tagged out of game.
“Explains the CIA code names TAG and IT.”Pamela huffs, musically.
Ashley and Thurston are the good guys. Whoare the bad guys? Could Boa be the bad gal or guy?
Pamela scrolls down article seeking “TunnelTag” & finds, quickly only reference name. She gleams, slowlynext boring newspaper article with any interesting tidbits ofuseful data.
As she wraps, slowly the last clipping, tagging definition appears: “Tunnel Tag.”
Variation of Tunnel Tag plays inside wallsthose caught must stand against wall until all parties are tagged.Preference plays well within caverns, or caves. This versioncreated by Thurston Slanton via the newspaper article.
“Bingo!” She yells, mildly then neck snapsaround room. Empty! She returns to screen, reads, slowly articlequoting “ ‘Thurston enjoyed spelunking under land better thansnorkeling under water and used his both sporting skills in hisjob.’ ”
Thurston loved his FBI job…way too much asPamela guesses, educationally with heavy evidence points to theirdeaths during sporting activities of caving tagging, not watertagging. Birmingham is landed locked with numerous fresh waterlakes & couple of rivers flowing through valley landscape. Youdon’t really snorkel, beautifully with water moccasins in LakeSmith near Talladega. Also, this is bestest clue her active mindcan deduct without capturing & interviewing Geneva.
Pamela hasn’t thought of Geneva in threehours & has guessed that Geneva probably knew both Ashley andThurston, not BOA. Who is BOA? She shakes, sideways black skull. She walks out Newspaper Archive Room to Reference Book section oflibrary.
She traces, lightly finger pad down DeweyDecimal System 500-599: Natural Science division & collects, heavily books on spelunking. Her results are four thickly heavybounded manuals representing school textbooks. She drops, nosilyinto backpack then marches over three aisles to 900-999: History,Geography & Biography section. Her find gathers nine thinfinely bounded books on Alabama history, topography andgeography.
Pamela locates, secretively cubby desk inrear of children’s section. Loud and obnoxious kids are good tidycover for her studying cave materials.
She hasn’t forgotten this morning shepersonally robbed another library of missing laptop. It can’t betraced to her, maybe finger prints if Geneva finds it. But,librarians and FBI guards are searching for her pretty face, everywhere since air flights to both France and England werestaged. She giggles, lightly.
She isn’t worried about Southside librarianor food clerk at Burn U Breakfast Bar identifying her scruffydisguise. They barely give her sweet Southern smile along
