Throughout the whole thing, it was my mother who didn’t know a thing about it. She’d have flipped the hell out and come to Louisiana, which though I love the damn woman, I don’t need her ass smothering the fuck out of me in an attempt to coddle me.
Thinking of them and the gun I’ve never used that Sabine gave me gives me great joy to have something that will be good to use. Because once I empty a few clips into Leonard’s body, I’ll have Breaker dispose of the gun.
“Are we going to lay here like this all day?” Lyrica whispers, breaking through my morbid thoughts of ending lives and relishing the fact it’ll be done.
“I wish we could, ma douce. Unfortunately, I have shit to get done, but what do you say I take you out on the bike today. The boot’s off and the weather is gonna be nice,” I offer.
“Yes,” she squeals, nearly jumping up into a sitting position on my lap, causing me to chuckle.
“Someone is excited at the suggestion. You miss riding, baby?” I smirk.
“I have. I used to dream about it,” she murmurs quietly. Her eyes getting a brief haunted look to them. “When . . .when they’d hurt me, I’d let my mind go to things that I enjoyed. Riding with you was the one I did the most.”
Fuck me.
“Then how about you get ready, and I’ll put off my plans until after I take my woman for a ride on my bike,” I murmur, wanting to give her this. Lyrica doesn’t say another word. Nope, she’s too excited that she flies out of bed and to the closet to grab clothes. Sitting up, I reach to the nightstand and shoot a mass text telling my brothers the change of plans. I was taking Ly out on the bike first. Immediately they all start replying while I get dressed. Most of them saying they’d be joining while some said to have fun, they were staying behind to keep an eye on shit.
By the time I’m pulling my cut on, Lyrica comes out of the closet wearing my property cut on top of a fitted tee paired with jeans and boots. Good girl. She remembers the rules for riding with me.
“All set,” she says, sounding excited as ever.
I slide my boots on and grin at her. “Then let’s get going.”
Taking her hand, I guide her out of our room and head for the door. Outside, I glance in her direction as she sees the guys already getting on their bikes. This shows they’d jump at a moment’s notice to do anything for her, let alone with her.
Holding her hand in mine, I walk us over to my own bike and straddle her before holding a hand out to help her on. Without hesitation, she climbs behind me and wraps her arms around my waist.
Grinning, I brush a hand on her hand and give it a squeeze. Looking to Chains, I lift my chin, letting him know I’m ready. The sounds of bikes roaring to life as one and within moments, we’re heading through the gates to give Lyrica a ride she’ll never forget. One that shows family stands together.
Riding down the road back to the clubhouse, I’m more than ready to not only take my woman back home and have my way with her. I’m ready to finish what needs to be done. As much as I’d have loved to have taken Lyrica out for longer than we did, she hadn’t been on the back of a bike in a while and needed to become accustomed to it again. Especially after just getting the boot taken off her foot.
Either way, she’d had a blast. At one point, I know she’d thrown her hands up in the air. Ly having fun was all our ride had been about now as we pull back in through the gates, I switch gears.
I want to be able to spend the rest of the day with my ol’ lady, but first, I need to put an end to one person who is still alive.
Pulling up in front of the house, I shut my bike off and help Lyrica climb off. Once she’s off the back, I swing my leg over and pull her to me.
“I gotta do some shit for a bit and when I get back, I want you all to myself. Got me?” I mutter, holding her close.
“Okay,” she whispers breathlessly.
“Good,” I murmur and press a kiss to her lips.
Releasing her, I watch as instead of her going into the house, Lyrica heads in the direction of Chains and Tiny’s where Tiny and the rest of the ol’ ladies were standing. The smiles on their faces telling at the fact they’re happy to have their friend back.
Even Carson since this meant he had his drawing buddy back.
Now that Ly’s boot is off when she’s ready, she can go back to work if she wants to. If not, that’s cool too.
Turning to my brothers, I mutter the words they’re waiting to hear. “Boathouse.”
Nodding, each and every one of them heads in the direction alongside me. “We ending it finally?” Tyres mutters.
“Yep. Lyrica’s happy and, for the past week, hasn’t woken up in the middle of the night due to nightmares. I want him dead and fed to the gators so I can finally say this part of the bullshit is over,” I grumble, knowing the full extent isn’t over with.
Not only do we still have to deal with any more men associated with Leonard and his men.
We have to take in mind the fact we don’t know who all is a part of this Supreme Masters group that Stoney and his club told us about. We also still have to find the man who’d been with the asshole who’d kidnapped Lyrica in the first place.
