I look down at his pants, which are sporting a large hard-on.

He’s looking at me now like I’m the last cup of water in the desert, and he’s been thirsty for days.

Clearing his throat, he points to my waist. “Maybe you could put that flannel shirt of yours to good use, Nyx.”

His jaw ticks, and he seems to be struggling to keep eye contact with me. I look down and oblige, feeling a bit let down that maybe I read him wrong, and he doesn’t actually like what he sees. I untie my flannel and notice his look of disappointment as I place the cold, wet shirt around my body like a towel. He actually prefers it off.

I look around the little white enclosure, grinning now because I know I’m affecting him. The rain outside isn’t letting up, and there’s another small pulsing between my legs again.

I want this man, and from the look he’s giving me, he wants me, too. He’s just too well-mannered to make the first move. So I dig deep inside myself and muster up all the confidence I can. I stand up straight with the flannel still in front of my chest.

It gets eerily quiet all around us, and the falling rain outside sounds as though it’s a mile away. I only see Jaxon.

Keeping my eyes on him, I lift my chin in confidence and allow the shirt to fall slowly to the ground, exposing myself to him again. I bite my bottom lip, trying to distract myself from the nerves threatening to overtake me. But I can’t fight him anymore.

Trying to keep my breaths slow and steady, I await Jaxon’s move.

His eyes go wide with hunger again as he looks me over from head to toe. Every form of restraint he was holding seems to have shattered like glass. He stalks over to me like a predator approaching its prey, and I panic at the reality of this situation. I know I want to kiss him, but, as pathetic as it is, I’ve never been here before. I’m not even sure I know how.

The words are like acid in my throat when I cry out frantically, “I’ve never been kissed before!”

Jaxon’s eyes widen, and he stops dead in his tracks. His wet hair is tousled and hanging in front of his face. His eyes soften, and he continues forward until he’s right in front of me, placing both hands on my cheeks.

Droplets of water fall from his hair and run down his face. “I’m trying my hardest to be a gentleman here, Nyx. But I gotta be honest.” He lifts my chin, forcing me to look him in the eyes. “My entire body wants to do very un-gentleman-like things to you.”

Releasing my chin, he sweeps my wet hair over both my shoulders, exposing my entire neck to him. Bringing his lips to my ear, he whispers, “So you’re gonna have to tell me if you want me to kiss you.” His words have my entire body tingling, and the throbbing between my legs gets more intense. He wraps an arm around my waist and pulls me closer to him. “Because I won’t do it without your permission.” His lips brush over the crook of my neck, sending shivers coursing through every inch of me as he says, “No matter how bad I want it.”

My breath picks up and, for the first time in my life, I’m desperate for a man’s touch. It’s as if the hormones that were tucked away for so long are now wreaking havoc inside me. I press my body into him, eager to feel his warmth. Feeling bold and out of my mind, I reach between us to feel his erection. He grabs my wrist, slowly shaking his head in a tsk-tsk motion to stop me.

“I need words, Nyx,” he says, almost pained now.

I can’t take this anymore. I need to feel his lips on me. Now. My voice cracks when I shout, “I want you to kiss me!” And he does just that.

It’s quite the cliché, but lightning suddenly strikes, and thunder booms at the exact time our lips meet. At first, his kiss is soft and gentle. No tongue, just us pressed together, his hands holding my face and mine pressed against his chest.

It’s perfect.

After a few seconds, he relaxes his lips and breaks the kiss, looking at me. His blue eyes are dancing with eagerness.

“That was your first kiss, Nyx.” He pauses, rubbing his thumb over my bottom lip. “I wanted it to be sweet and passionate. Something you’d remember forever.” Another pause. “So remember it good, because what I’m about to do to you now has nothing sweet about it.”

Before I can absorb Jaxon’s words, his lips are back on mine, this time greedily and desperate. He gently fists my hair and pulls down on it so my face is at a better angle for him. He licks the seam of my bottom lip, and I part my mouth for him to enter. His tongue is like velvet against mine as we explore each other.

The need to taste more overwhelms me, so I bite down on his bottom lip and slide it between my teeth. He tastes like cinnamon and rain. He groans a “fuuuuck” under his breath, and the next thing I know, he’s lifting me up and wrapping my legs around him.

He walks, carrying me away and devouring my mouth as I try my hardest to keep up with the strokes of his tongue. My arms are wrapped around his neck, and when my back hits a wall, I feel even more of his body pressed into me.

My center is in direct contact with his own, and I can’t fight the urge to rub myself against the hardness. I swirl my hips into him in one slow movement, and he responds by thrusting his hips upward. I can’t help the moan that escapes my lips.

“Jaxon,” I sigh breathlessly.

“You’re gonna fucking kill me, Nyx.” He continues to pepper kisses along my
