Dawn patted her shoulder. “He suggested I ask you. Didn’t you, River?”
River’s mouth was currently fastened to Charlie’s, but he flashed a thumbs-up.
“Um, I guess—”
Their coworkers dispersed, pulling on coats and hats against the nasty sleet.
Eddie looped his arm through Rosie’s. “Breathe, babe.”
With a windy sigh, she sagged against his shoulder. “It’s just—I don’t want to step on River’s toes. Everyone loves his posters. If mine are better, then I’m taking something away from him, you know?”
Eddie nuzzled her hair. “I doubt he’ll see it that way.”
“Funny, isn’t it? All my life I’ve wanted to be an artist, and now when someone offers me the chance to put my artwork on display, I get spooked.”
“Fear of success. I heard about that on Doctor Phil. Or was it Doctor Oz?”
Rosie squinted. “You watch those old-lady shows?”
“Babka does. Sometimes I keep her company.” Suddenly self-conscious, he fumbled for a more comfortable topic. “You know, I have markers at my place. You could practice your cartoon skills.”
Rosie’s eyes widened. “How did you know?”
“Know what?”
“Never mind.” Her expression relaxed into a sexy smirk as she tickled beneath his chin. “Let’s go.”

Rosie stopped nibbling Eddie’s earlobe long enough to murmur, “Hurry.” While he fumbled with the lock on his apartment door, she tunneled inside his coat, greedy to unwrap her prize. Finally, the knob turned, and they tumbled inside.
Ever the old-fashioned gentleman, he helped her out of her coat. “You want something? Tea? A snack?”
“I want you, Eddie.” Sweet of him to offer preliminary gestures, but once they started kissing on the stairs, her libido stomped on the gas.
Flashing a Christmas-morning grin, he reached for her blouse buttons.
She batted his fingers away. “Bathroom first. I need to insert my surprise.”
His kissable mouth opened and closed like a startled goldfish. Did he think she was packing a strap-on in her purse? Teasing him was fun, but fucking him was even more delicious, and she was eager to get on with it. She fished in her bag and pulled out a foil packet.
His head tilted. “Condom?”
“It’s a menstrual disk. It holds back the flow so period sex isn’t messy.” She’d never tried one, but Lana swore by them. “Never had one leak,” she promised.
“Umm…cool?” He blinked rapidly. “I mean, I’ll try anything you want, Ro, but you don’t need to—”
Pressing her hips to his, she unfastened the top buttons of his shirt and kissed the tender skin where his shoulder met his neck. “This is for me. The mess makes it hard for me to enjoy myself.”
His head lolled back, inviting more kisses. “Your enjoyment is my number one priority.” He rocked his hips into hers, and the firm ridge behind his zipper sent a cascade of shivers down her spine.
“Number one, eh? Do I get my own page in your notebook?”
“You get your own chapter.” His fingertips danced over her back in mesmerizing spirals. “I need a new planner just for all the things I want to do with you.” He grasped her ass, snugging her tight against him. “Now go put in your thingy before I explode.”
Grabbing her overnight bag, Rosie repaired to the bathroom where she took care of business and freshened up. Clean, perfumed, and insured against leaks, she pulled on the itchy but sexy lace bra and thong she’d brought, then wrapped up in her red satin robe embroidered with Chinese dragons. Fluffing her hair, she purred at her reflection, “Let the games begin.” She pulled her second surprise from her bag, opened the door, and strutted through.
Eddie sprawled on the couch, thighs spread wide, the light of a dozen candles reflected in his glittering gaze. Barefoot, he’d unbuttoned his shirt but left his jeans on, a delicious gift for her to unwrap. The corner of his mouth hitched upward as he gestured to the package in her hand. “What you got there?”
“Tattoo pens.” She dropped them on the coffee table before climbing onto the couch and straddling him. “I figure this game of show and tell will be more fun if we both have ink. Now, which of my tattoos haven’t you seen yet?” She untied her sash and let the robe fall open.
His hands skated over her flanks, his touch light and teasing. “I’ve become pretty well acquainted with this beauty.” Leaning forward, he pressed a kiss over her heart. “What inspired your rose bouquet?”
She chuckled. “When you’re built like me, people stare at your chest.”
“How could they not? It’s dazzling.” He nuzzled the spill of flesh above her lace bra cups.
“So I put my name there. Figured it might help people remember.”
“You’re unforgettable, Rosie.” His hands slid up her sides to knead her breasts. “Good thing you’re name’s not Ursula.”
“Yeah, I’d have to tattoo bears on my tits. Hey—” She swiveled and snatched up the markers. “You need a Russian bear. Lie down.”
Still gripping her hips, he stretched out on his back.
“Hold still.” She uncapped a brown marker and, in quick strokes, sketched a snarling bear on his left pectoral.
“Rosie,” he moaned, bucking his hips beneath her.
She settled her full weight onto him, pinning him in place. Despite the distracting press of his erection on her most sensitive spot, she finished the snarling beast. “Done.” She grabbed her phone and snapped a photo. “See how pretty you look with a little ink?”
“You’re prettier.” His hands closed on her breasts again, rolling and pinching her nipples.
The answering throb between her legs tempted her to drop their tattoo game and peel off his clothing, but the longer she drew out the tease, the stronger their ultimate release.
“When choosing a tattoo design, you need to consider your essence.” She rose, flicked the robe aside, and bent forward to show him the rainbow swirl at the top of her thigh. “Me, I’m colorful. Always in motion, like the wind.”
Eddie’s fingers traced the design. With a low grunt, he sank his teeth in her ass.
