smiling softly and snuggled deep into my side, her arm across my chest. I put the book aside and open the beautifully illustrated version of “Beauty and the Beast.” I read it to her slowly, savoring her enjoyment of each page, while the overwhelming love I feel for this woman thumps in my chest like a second heart. Her worry about our guests, while not what I want her focusing on, is just an indication of her generous spirit. The thought she’s put into a book for my daughter wraps that beating emotion in a penumbra so bright, I’m surprised it doesn’t shine out of my chest.

Once I finish the book, I set it on the nightstand and slide down into the pillows so I can draw Emily’s head onto my shoulder. She stretches against my side, slipping one of her thighs between mine. She tangles our feet together with a sleepy giggle.

“I love you so, so much, my sweetheart.”

She nuzzles up to kiss the hollow beneath my jaw. “I love you, too, Daddy.”

“I know orgasm denial is not your favorite thing. I want you to bear it for me, but if it makes you truly miserable, promise to tell me, little girl.”

“And then I can have all the orgasms?” She lifts her head hopefully.

I bop the tip of her nose. “Not likely.”

“Gurn,” she says, using one of the expressions I’ve taught her that my mother used to say instead of cursing. Emmy wrinkles up her face before giving me a kiss on the cheek. “I promise.”

“That’s my sweetie.” I brush my fingertips over the platinum chain that circles the base of her throat. “I’m going to take this from you tomorrow morning. It’s not because I’m annoyed or upset with you. I want everyone to see you without it, so it means more when I put it on you on Sunday. Okay?”

She nods. “It’s okay, Daddy. I guessed you would. I’ll miss it, though.”

“Oh, my baby, I know you will. I’ll miss seeing it on you. But let’s both focus on how special it will feel on Sunday when I lock it back on you.”

She wriggles her head back onto my shoulder. “Kinda looking forward to it now.”

“Kinda?”

“Eeeny-weeny bit.”

I poke her in the ribs. “You are a mischief.”

She giggles softly, but it’s a very sleepy giggle and I stroke the spot I’ve poked to soothe her to sleep. “Love you lots and lots, Daddy. I can’t wait to be your collared babygirl.”

“I can’t wait for you to be my collared babygirl. Sleep well, sweetheart.”

She murmurs in response and I close my eyes so I can drift off with my soul mate in my arms.

Chapter Three Emily

“Orgasm denial sucks giant rotten monkey balls,” I tell Vashi.

She puts her hand over her mouth to cover her laughter.

“Niall demanded the same before he collared me. And of Shaan, only his lasted for a month.”

“A month!” I immediately adjust my level of annoyance. It’s only two days and Daddy did give me a really good orgasm this morning before breakfast, on top of all the orgasms last night.

Vashi nods before she takes a sip of her tea. “Twice. Once when Niall first collared Shaan, before I knew them. And again before our wedding. Niall said Shaan must be in no doubt as to whom he belonged.”

I shudder at the idea. “I’m guessing he wasn’t in any doubt after that?”

Vashi giggles. “Very little.”

She folds her lips over her teeth to stifle her giggle when Martyn, the inn keep, comes into the breakfast room. Vashi and I are alone in the lovely room, with its robin’s egg blue walls and view over the inn’s flowering gardens. Daddy, Niall, and two more Doms who arrived just after breakfast, Daddy’s friend Mac and Master Harold from the club, are out in the gardens somewhere, inspecting the hedge-maze where we’re having the scene tonight. Shaan disappeared across the hall to the library with his laptop after breakfast to get some work done, leaving us to gossip.

“Another pot of tea, ladies?” Martyn asks. I love how he’s dressed today, in a black pin-striped apron over gray suit pants, a deep gold waistcoat, black cravat, and a white dress shirt with sleeve garters. When I brought Professor Teddington down to breakfast, Martyn disappeared for a few minutes and brought out a matching gold waistcoat for him. He’s promised he’ll bring a little trunk of Professor Teddington’s clothes up to the room after everyone’s checked in and I’m almost more excited to see the rest of the teddy’s wardrobe than I am to go sightseeing.

“No, thank you, sir. If I have any more tea, I’ll need to take a porta-potty to the Falls.”

Martyn chuckles. “Well, we wouldn’t want that. Can I get you ladies anything before I whisk myself off to the scullery?”

Vashi and I trade giggles.

“There’s not really a scullery here, is there?”

Martyn lifts an eyebrow. “Whisk, whisk. Enjoy your day, ladies. I’ll look forward to seeing you all after dinner.”

Vashi and I wave to him.

“Does he have a lady-friend?” she asks. “Or a gentleman-friend?”

“Or both?” I lift Professor Teddington’s paws. “I don’t know, but if he doesn’t, we need to find him one. How is Benjie getting on with Lilah?”

Vashi’s wide, white grin breaks out. Although we schemed about it extensively together, the matchmaking behind bringing together Daddy’s wonderful nurse in San Diego with an absolutely adorable subbie was all down to Vashi and Shaan.

“He brought her to dinner this week. There was much masala chai.”

I grin back at her. Masala chai’s our code for all the non-kinky ways our Doms show us they love us.

“Is he getting more comfortable with impact play?” I ask. Benjie has the authority of a seasoned Dom, but he was reluctant to engage in impact with Lilah at first. She’s not a masochist like I am, but she wanted more than the bondage and sensation play he was giving her.

Vashi nods. “He paddled her before dinner. He did very well. Even
