Lilly, before you knew she was stuck as a grimalkin. You and Thalia got into it, and between the two of you, set on fire to several of their houses, with fireballs and thunderbolts. Thalia’s mother died from the smoke.”  Robin said quietly. “So before you and Lilly had your flash-bang fight, you also had a coven of witches chasing after you.

Agatha chimed in from the doorway. “Remember, there are two sides to every story. You are not always the victim, even if it feels that way.” With that Agatha turned and walked back into her room.

“I may feed your sister to the Grimalkin before all of this is through,” Thea said vindictively.

In the morning, all the witches met in the kitchen and were making breakfast for the hundreds of creatures that were living in the chateau.

“We’re running out of food,” the male witch, who went by the name of Devin, stated as he pulled breads from the pantry.

“Well we should probably not plan on staying here much longer then,” Charles said, as he brought in apples from the garden.

“After we eat, we can go over the plan,” Thea said as she snacked on some grapes. “The Grimalkin is out back now; we really are surrounded.”

Thea went over the plan with the entire group. Sorgin taunted them: “That is a coven of supremes! The whole family are filled with supremes. You think you’re going to take on eleven witches and a grimalkin?!” Sorgin was laughing hysterically. “You’re going to need more help than you have in this room!”

Thea started to talk over Sorgin. “Do not listen to her! We can all get out of here! You all have your assignments, meet back here at dusk.” The room disbursed except for the twins, Dean, Charles, and Thea. Fig was sitting on the table licking the glass to Sorgin’s case.

The sisters were talking about getting their spells together while the boys were talking of finding weapons to use.

“Sorgin, I want to make a deal.” Thea said to the head. She attempted to keep her statement hushed.

“What?! NO!” Robin and Agatha yelled at her. The boys had stopped talking and looked at her with concern. “Thea, you don’t want to do that. There is always a catch that works out in her favor.”

Thea held her hand up to hush everyone. “She’s right, there are only a few of each kind of creature here; not enough for them to overpower a group of supremes.” Thea was staring into Sorgin in the eyes. Sorgin had a wide smile on her face. “Sorgin, if I give you your body back, will you help us with the coven?” The head smirked back at the group.

“I’ll protect you all, just as I have been doing all along.”

“Go get her body.” Thea said with a sigh.

CHAPTER NINETEEN

The body of Sorgin was exhumed from the backyard. A few of the dwarfs helped carry the box into the sitting room, unbeknownst to them of what it contained. Thea shut the doors to the sitting room, then took the lid off of the box, preparing herself for its gruesome contents. The body hadn’t decomposed at all, in fact, it looked better than it did when it was buried.

“Here’s the deal Sorgin, I will attach your head back to your body and heal you. In exchange, you will help everyone escape the coven and the Grimalkin. AND, you can no longer collect ANY living creatures, ever again. Deal?” Sorgin was listening intensely as Thea went over their deal.

“I will continue to protect you, and I will not collect anything…. Living,” the old witch replied with a sneer. Thea supposed that was the best deal she was going to get.

Thea removed the glass case, cut into the base of the head, and then set the head onto the stump of the neck. There was a trickle of blood that came out of Sorgin’s neck.  Agatha took out a needle and thread and sewed the skin back together. Sorgin moaned with each stitch going through her crispy skin. Thea took a deep breath and placed her hands on the charred remains and started to heal the body of the immortal witch. The electric current ran through her into Sorgin. The old witch cackled as the bones in her neck started to fuse back together with her back. The skin on her neck started to grow over the stitches that Agatha placed. Her body lifted up, out of the box as her skin started to turn back to a healthy hue, instead of the burnt crisp it was a few moments before. As Thea removed her hand from Sorgin, the old witch smiled as she raised her hands to smooth her hair down.

“How is that possible? Isn’t she dead?” Dean whispered to Agatha.

“She’s immortal. If her head doesn’t die, she can rejuvenate her own body, if she can get her head over to the body, that is,” Agatha whispered back as she watched the spectacle in awe. “She’s like a cockroach; she won’t die.”

“That feels better,” Sorgin said as she stood up. “Now, let’s get this over with.” Sorgin put her hand on her arm where her cane had transformed into a band and pulled it off while it magically stretched back to its original state. Thea and the others wasted no time; they planned the attack on the witches outside and started preparing for a battle.

Dusk was falling. All the creatures took their places throughout the chateau. The elves were in the windows with their arrows ready to fire down onto the grounds, the dwarfs were standing at the door and on the porch with their sharpened axes; Charles and Dean both had their swords drawn, ready to battle.

“Are you ready?” Robin whispered to Thea. With a deep breath, Thea nodded. “You have your necklace ready?” Robin asked as she
