Real shocker there.
I lost the apartment. A letter to vacate the premises showed up two weeks later. Sucks to move. Especially now when they’re planning a rooftop garden for the Spring. You can say a lot of things about Tanya, but whatever Tanya wants, Tanya gets.
Except for Alex, that is. He hooked up with a Ukranian woman in his cheap hotel who was in town posing for an issue of Tatuyuvannya magazine. Everyone hopes they’ll be very happy together---especially with Alex’s trial for insider trading coming up.
I moved in with Celia on January 1st. The rent’s a little steep (even paying only half) but between the coffee shop and managing Timmy, I’ll be okay for the next few months.
Nate’s doing fantastic! He says that getting fired from his job was the best thing that ever happened to him---besides me, he always adds. A few days after he lost his job, one of his plays got picked up by The Public Theatre. He convinced the director to use Steve in one of the roles. Steve immediately fell in love with one of the actresses in the show. But when he tried out one of his cheesy lines on her, she slapped him in the face.
He thinks he finally met the girl of his dreams.
I lost my insurance mid-January, but Dr. Prince and I still meet up at Shenanigans once a week. I sit at the bar, have a cocktail, she listens to my Problem of the Week and I tip her handsomely. She’s totally worth it. If you’re in NYC, stop by and pay her a call.
And Celia sent one of her friends to my most recent directorial effort, a showcase for some Julliard friends on Theatre Row. Turns out, he’s one of the producers for an upcoming Broadway show. I have an interview next week for 2nd Assistant Director. I know it’s just an interview, but I just know I’m going to get it!
After what I went thru, it’s a pretty happy ending.
Oh! I almost forgot. The day after Christmas, the cat finally came out.
I just know this is going to be my year!
