a spiral, her thighs clenched down on his body.

Trip shuddered, holding her down against him as he released. Her body quivered, coming out of what he'd created inside of her. Totally exhausted, she flopped forward and laid against his upper body.

Though his breathing was normal, his heart raced against her, matching her own.

He drew circles on her lower back, and a deep chuckle came from his chest, rocking her. She lifted her head. His sated gaze met her own.

"I love you," she whispered.

His mouth softened. "Love you, too."

His cock twitched, one last flash of pleasure inside of her. She sighed in contentment, and a yawn followed.

His hand stopped rubbing her. "Tired?"

"A little." She placed her head on his chest. "But I don't want to get up. You're comfy."

She shivered, belying her words. Now that her body cooled, the air covered her damp body.

He rubbed her briskly, rousing her. She pushed up on his chest and looked down at where their bodies remained connected. Once she'd moved in, she'd told him about being on birth control, and he no longer used a condom.

Trip wrapped his hands around her waist and lifted her off him. She pouted, hating to lose him.

He grabbed a towel from the other lounger and wiped it between her legs. "I'll put you to bed."

"Not yet." She took his hand, walked over to the hot tub section of the pool, and stepped down into the water, pulling him with her. "Let's get warm first."

He sat down, pulling her onto his lap. She cuddled against him, exhaling at the rush of warmth flooding her body.

The life they lived still took her by surprise. Having never had excess money and stretching each paycheck every payday, she tried hard not to let her sons take what Trip shared with them for granted. As of yet, she hadn't told them about Grandpa Gene leaving her the money he'd taken to let the government officials use a piece of his land.

For now, the money was put back in the safety deposit box—this time, under her name. Someday, it would go to her boys.

"Trip?" she whispered.

"Hm?"

She smiled, knowing it was impossible to hear over the jets of the hot tub when he couldn't see her mouth move. But she'd learned when it came to Trip, nothing was impossible.

"Do you miss it?" She raised her head, needing to see his face. "Being involved with them?"

He smoothed the hair off her cheek. She swallowed the longer it took for him to answer. There were times, she wondered.

He was a quiet man. But sometimes, she'd catch something on his face, in his eyes, in his walk, that she suspected was a defensive move to keep his emotions carefully hidden under the surface.

"Sometimes," he whispered.

She nodded, understanding. Or trying to understand.

"For all my life, that's all I ever knew." His brows pulled down, something that rarely happened. "The others...I miss sharing that with them."

"You still share being brothers in the motorcycle club with them."

He started rubbing her back again. She knew that was all he'd share with her.

Like she missed the parts of her life with Ben, Grandpa Gene, and her mom, she recognized that he, too, missed the time with those who shared his life.

"It'll get easier." She kissed him. "You've been spending more time with them lately since I sold the club Grandpa Gene's house. You probably enjoy that, huh?"

There was no hesitation about selling the place when Trip brought the subject up. The location worked well for the bikers, and there would be no more land feuds because Avery Falls Motorcycle club now owned the part of the mountain they needed to do their work.

The only change was the easement covering Grandma Trudy's resting space. She kept that in honor of her grandpa. It was the right thing to do.

"I wouldn't change anything about my life, Bonnie." He wrapped her in his arms and held her a little tighter than normal. "You are the one that I want to spend the rest of my days with. You and the boys."

"Then, it's a plan. We'll grow old together." She leaned back. "Are you hot?"

"Yeah."

She stepped off him, pulling him to his feet. Drying off, she knew there were only a few hours, and Zach and Kenny would be getting up, and the chaos that comprised her family would start all over again.

And, she'd love every minute.

Epilogue

Deep in the cave, the handler passed the clipboard off to the controller. "Two and Five will be ready to join the community at the end of the mouth if their last training session goes as planned."

"It should be a smooth transition for them." The controller looked over the reports. "Set up a meeting with Demon and have the motorcycle club set up the house. We'll be able to keep a better eye on them, considering they're close by."

"Seven came through, convincing his woman to sign over the house." The handler stood straighter. "The advanced training has worked out exceptionally well. There is no indication he's fighting the next step."

The controller shut off the lights in the cells, casting the men in darkness. Only the one overhead light in the middle walkway remained on.

"As we suspected, Seven truly believes he is out of the program." The controller nodded. "You've done excellent work. I still remember when we brought him into the Alpha Bio Project."

"He was the homeless man?"

"Correct." The controller motioned for him to walk. "He'd lost his wife and infant son in a terrible vehicle accident. He was driving. For the next three years, he lost everything. Then, he lost himself. We gave him a life back."

"No more pain."

"He's earned his right to live." The controller walked out of the tunnel into the daylight. In the distance, the low hum of motorcycles making their way up the mountain could be heard.

"May I ask one question?"

The controller nodded. "A short one. They're almost here."

The handler looked out at the road. "We told Seven he was removed from the program.
