granted. The woman has a heart of gold and gives so much of herself to others, but doesn’t expect that from other people. She deserves that, and you need to be the one to give it to her.”

Waverly took my breath away while I watched her interact with the people she served, calling regular patrons by name, asking questions about things she knew about their lives, helping Janet in every way she could. The woman flipped my world and my heart upside down yesterday, and as I sat at my desk this morning, staring off into space and getting absolutely nothing productive accomplished, it hit me like a meteor landing on earth—I’ve fallen in love with my wife.

The day dragged on knowing that I couldn’t wait to get home and tell her, especially since she sent me dirty text messages earlier today, alluding to a surprise she had for me when I got home that night. I couldn’t get my knees to stop bouncing in my afternoon meeting as I adjusted my raging hard-on multiple times under the table, counting down the minutes until I could race home and tackle her. Even my father seemed annoyed with me and my lack of concentration, but I didn’t care. I was a man on a mission to submit to the woman who has taken my life in her hands and turned it completely around.

Her scent—the moment I walk through my door, the flowery essence hits my nose and holds me captive. And as if I’m a bloodhound on the hunt, I seek her out, sniffing the air and following the trail of her body wash until I find her standing at the stove, stirring something in a pot while swaying her hips to the soft music coming from her phone beside her, wearing nothing but a pink apron with ruffles and white lace cheeky underwear that give me just enough of a glimpse of her delectable ass while still leaving me longing for more.

And that’s when it hits me, when the notion smashes against my chest, momentarily stopping my heart before a rush of emotion pumps out of it and down my limbs.

I crave this—seeing her when I walk through the door, hearing her voice on the phone when I call, holding her at the end of a long day, knowing her warmth and smile will soothe all the worries that pummel my mind at any given moment. I want to give her everything; I want her to know that I’m in this for the long haul and that despite Wes and Shayla’s wedding being just a month away now, there is no way I am going to let her go when it is all said and done. She is stuck with me no matter what.

I’ve been fighting love my entire life, convincing myself that it isn’t true or not for me, but now I know—I love her and there’s no going back. I married my best friend’s little sister, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

“Like what you see?” she says with her back to me before peering over her shoulder and smirking at me.

“Without a doubt, this is the best thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”

She laughs and then flicks off the burner on the stove, twisting around to give me the full frontal view. The apron hides her breasts from me, making it look like she’s wearing an indecent dress rather than an apron given how short it is. But the ruffles and lace make her look like a present I’m itching to unwrap.

“Welcome home,” she croons, taking a few steps toward me in her high heels as she closes the distance between us.

“Hi, baby.” I lean down to kiss her, fighting my desire to ravage her right here on the spot. And as her tongue lashes with mine, it makes it even more difficult. But I need her to know how I feel before this goes any further.

“Did you have a good day?” She peers up at me while loosening my tie, pulling the fabric over my head, and then starting on the buttons of my shirt.

“Well, I was hard for half of it after your text messages.”

Her giggle makes my dick twitch. “Is that so?”

“You think that’s funny?” I reach around and grab her ass, pulling her in so my cock is pressed against her stomach and she can feel what she does to me, even though I’m sure she’s fully aware.

“A little. But I knew that what I had planned for you tonight would make up for it.” She bats her eyelashes at me before sliding my shirt down my arms and then pressing her lips to my chest, running her tongue along my nipples and her nails over my abs.

“Waverly,” I groan, reaching down to lift her and carry her to the couch. Her legs encircle my waist as we kiss, and I stride toward the living room. Laying her down gently on the couch, I nestle between her parted legs, rubbing my length against her as we continue to meld our lips and tongues together.

“Baby,” I say between kisses. “Waverly.”

“What, Hayes? I want you,” she fires back, pulling my lips back to hers as I battle internally with what to do. I’m mesmerized by her need for me right now, but I also know that I need to tell her how I’m feeling, and then I can show her with my body.

“Waverly, can I say something, please?” The tension in my voice is almost as rough as it is in my body right now.

Her eyes fill with worry as she looks up at me from the couch as I hover over her. “Is everything okay?”

“Everything is fine, babe. I just… I need to get this off my chest.”

“Alright …”

“I realized something today,” I start, pushing her hair away from her face so her bright green eyes glisten in the lighting above us. “After yesterday, after you shared the most sensational part
