turned her body so that the injured woman's head was resting on her knees.

"Half-Celt, did ye find her lass?" Rory asked from outside the room.

Louie entered through the gap in the door and came toward us.

Viki poured a potion into her wife's mouth and Louie began casting a healing spell as soon as he saw her.

"We did" I replied. "Now come in, we'll need to carry her and get the--"

"I can't fucking fit. Ye come here and pull and I'll push on my side."

"Viki," the injured woman said once the healing spell landed, immediately coughing up the potion she was given. "You're here."

"Of course I am," Viki replied, caressing her hair. "We'll get you out. Can you stand?"

"Step away everyone," Leo shouted and I moved back before reaching the door. "There's no point in keeping quiet anymore."

The moment the second healing spell landed on the injured woman, the door and the furniture holding it exploded inward.

"I can't fucking move," the woman said once the flying pieces settled, looking at a bite wound on her hand. "I need to shift this shit out."

"We need to run," Rory said, as rushed into the room. "Someone's coming our way. Lift her up and move."

Viki wasted no time and picked up her wife in her arms as I sent her a party invitation. Once she joined our party and we saw her HP was below half, both Louie and Leo cast another healing spell on her.

"She can't walk because she was bitten, and she has to shapeshift--" I explained to Rory.

"Who gives a fuck, lad? Just move."

We rushed out of the room, letting Viki lead us, with Louie and Leo right behind her. However, as soon as Rory stepped out into the corridor, a bright missile struck him on his back, removing a considerable chunk of his HP.

"Where do you think you're going with my merchandise?" Abrathion's voice echoed down the hallway.

"Run!" Rory bellowed and glanced at me before he launched himself back the way we'd come in.

Abrathion launched another spell, this time a series of stone spikes that succeeded in damaging Rory even more, but he cursed as the dwarf ran out of his reach. I stood next to the door, hiding from his view just inside the room, and waited.

"As soon as he passes the door, turn back and heal Rory," I said telepathically to Louie.

Abrathion ran forward, his multiple facial piercings clinking against each other, and stopped to cast another spell just after the room I was in.

Before he was able to finish it, I jumped out and triggered my Mighty Slash skill, bringing both of my swords down on his back. His spellcasting was canceled and he turned around in sudden realization, allowing me to see the healing light that showered a charging Rory behind him.

"It's you," he said and brought his hand in front of me, a maelstrom of colors forming in the center of his palm.

In such close quarters, I was sure I wouldn't be able to dodge his attack so I held up both of my swords, trying to defend myself as best I could. His spell catapulted me ten feet back, and I tumbled over, struggling to find my balance again.

My HP was reduced to a little more than half and I felt thankful that Rory was now commanding Abrathion's attention again. He slammed his war hammer into the side of the half-demon, forcing the breath out of his lungs.

The attack should probably have been enough to break his ribcage but Abrathion continued to cast one spell after the other against the dwarf. I picked myself up and chugged a healing potion, my HP slowly rising as I picked up my swords again.

Rory was still smashing his weapon into Abrathion, but even with the constant healing of both Louie and Leo his HP was dropping fast, especially when he wasn't able to cancel the half-demon's stronger spells. Abrathion's heavily enchanted weapon was causing a lot of damage.

I rushed forward, shouting my lungs out, as my vision began to take on a familiar red tint. As I approached Abrathion, the only thought running through my head was how much I yearned to sink my swords into his guts. So focused was I that I almost didn't notice Viki lurching from the other side, taking two steps on the wall and landing on the lavishly dressed man, shield-first.

"Get him while he's stunned!" Viki shouted.

We all launched our strongest attacks on him.

Louie and Leo sent a ball of rapidly spinning air toward him, following it up with a spike of ice. Rory spun his body around twice before bringing his war hammer down with incredible force on the side of Abrathion's face. My Mighty Slash skill opened two deep wounds on his thighs, and I felt my anger momentarily sated by the blood I had drawn. Or perhaps it was Louie's voice echoing in my head.

"...closer so I can heal you," was all I managed to understand as the redness disappeared.

But I couldn't retreat now. We needed to end this.

And now we had him surrounded.

"Keep hitting!" I mentally shouted at Louie.

Another volley of spells landed on Abrathion while he was still stunned. Viki and I slashed at him and Rory took care of his knees. As soon as the half-demon's face unfroze, his expression rapidly changed from extreme pain to despair.

"I yield!" he shouted as he fell to the floor, unable to stay upright with all the injuries we'd inflicted.

"Fucking insects," Yelena said loudly, clearly still struggling to breathe. It was only then that I noticed her sitting on the ground, her back against the wall at the intersection. "A lot of them."

Rory kicked Abrathion's glowing staff away before following Viki who was already running to her wife. Louie moved closer to me and started casting a healing spell as I held my swords against the side of Abrathion's neck.

"Please spare me," he pleaded. His face had the same expression of despair I saw when the two demons attacked
