The dwarf sagged backward with the last hit, but quickly straightened.
“Ye wilnae git out o’ ‘ere alive, Elven scum,” he said with defiance as he reached into his pouch and pulled something free that looked like a small metal horn. Placing it against his lips, he blew a long hard note as Atlas tried to charge and stop him.
A deep rumbling noise reverberated through his very soul, and the sheer force of it surprised him with how small the instrument looked. His staff connected with the dwarf’s head and stopped the note, but Atlas was sure the damage was done. He used the same combo as before and punished the marksman with another 35 damage.
The short man made one last attempt at resistance as he fished out a small dagger and charged for an attack. Atlas almost felt bad for the little guy as he stepped to the side and batted it away. He triggered Counter, Blade Chase, Triple Threat, Pursuit, and then Double Slash for the full fury of his combo. The last smack of his staff rang hollow and the dwarf’s eyes turned vacant as he collapsed to the ground.

Knowing he had limited time, he dashed to each of the three dwarves. A quick search of them revealed 5 silver coins. He considered packing away their weapons, but the axes didn’t look like anything special. The guard he’d killed from the top of the tower had one item of note that he desperately needed.

His feet carried him down the stairs at a sprint. He took the steps two at a time as he raced toward the door with his target. The first door flew by in no time and he slowed as he approached his target. This door wasn’t locked, and he opened it to peer through.
Before it opened more than an inch, a loud crack echoed behind it and a crunch of wood punctuated the noise. His hand vibrated on the door from the impact.
Damn. Another marksman.
Letting the man reload would be a mistake, so he readied himself and kicked the door wide as he rushed through. Another burst of gunfire echoed in the passage and he cried out in pain as the bullet hit him in the side. Now that he was charging in, he saw two marksman standing near the only door.
Tower Marksman dealt 20 damage to you with Crack Shot.
Luckily there aren’t any real melee people here. I should be able to handle these quickly.
The distance shrunk quickly as he ran down the hall. He activated Triple Threat and aimed for the shooter that fired first. A musket intercepted his attack. This dwarf didn’t fumble with his blocking like the last did. The marksman dropped his hands toward the end of the barrel and swung hard with the wooden stock leading the way.
Atlas dropped to a crouch as the weapon passed overhead. His hair rustled from the breeze as it passed and he activated Counter. Thrusting forward, his staff slammed into the dwarf’s chest and Blade Chase followed. On the last hit, his vision flashed red, and he spun just in time to see a thick wooden stock slam into the side of his face.
He stumbled backward and his hand shot to his face as he mumbled, “Son of a bitch, that hurt.”

Shaking off the attack, he removed his hand from his face just in time to see another attack heading for him. Diving to the side, he avoided the attack and continued attacking his original target. If he could take out one of them, the other would be easy for him to deal with.
Activating Triple Threat, he rushed for the dwarf. This time, the man wasn’t fast enough to intercept the attack, and the combo pummeled him. Pursuit and Double Slash followed to round out the attack.
You dealt 35 total damage to Tower Dwarf.
The dwarf’s moves were sluggish as he tried to attack. A quick flick of his staff knocked the man off balance and he stumbled past. Atlas turned in pursuit when he caught the glint of metal out of the corner of his eye. His gaze swung toward the object just in time to see the other marksman with the gun up to his shoulder and one eye squinted as he aimed down the barrel.
Atlas panicked and dropped to the ground. His timing worked out perfectly as fire exploded from the barrel and he heard something zip over his heard. A loud shout accompanied the shot, and he turned his head to see the dwarf he pushed past him sink to the ground, a hole leaking blood punched into his back.
“Daggart!” the other dwarf exclaimed in shock as he lowered his weapon in disbelief.
Atlas took advantage of the situation, pushed himself back to his feet, and charged the stunned marksman. The man didn’t even attempt to block as his combo rattled off. When the last hit of his Double Slash landed, the dwarf only slumped to a knee, dropping his musket, and stayed there with his head bowed. He never even attempted to protect himself or fight back.
