Deep below the ground, another creature stirred.
“Master?” The voice was mousy and shrill. It was painful for the man that slowly awakened.
He sat upon a throne made of bones and iron. What would have been painful for any other was the source of this man’s strength.
The Undertaker.
Slowly, his eyes opened. Such unnatural eyes that no man should have. Yellow and slitted like a cats, they stared out from the darkness and towards the creature who dared address him.
The goblin stepped forward and trembled. The light that illuminated it was no natural light. It came from the man. Runes were inscribed into nearly every part of his body, and when he used magic, they glowed. As the creature stepped towards him, the light disappeared. In its place, was the scarred and tattooed massacre who sat upon his stolen throne.
“Master-” The creature shook. It was unable to finish its words as fear overwhelmed it.
“Spit it out.” The voice was as unnatural as the man. It was compelling. Beautiful. Lyrical. And oh so incredibly dangerous. It sounded like the aftermath of nuclear bomb. Quiet and calm but reeking of death.
“Master, a request has been sent.”
“From whom?”
“Malachi.”
He sat up straighter from the throne upon which he reclined. “Malachi dares to make a request of me?”
The goblin held a small scrap of paper towards him. It held no words upon it other than the signature of Malachi. As his hands held onto the delicate parchment, words began to appear in looping letters.
A slow smile spread across his face. From upon his iron throne beneath the city, the Graverobber began to glow.
