There will be a day
When I will forget
What hugging you felt like.
Coz there will be a day
When I will say
I am over you, without dismay.
And I hope that day will be soon,
Because long enough I’ve cried to the moon,
And spend my time thinking of you through the noon.
Entwined
To love or not to love,
Doesn’t involve a great deal of thought,
All it takes is-
Just a smile here and a nod there,
Just a look here or a touch there.
And it is a great joy indeed,
To know what love feels like;
To know how love’s hair curls around your fingers,
While you gently play with it;
Or how their breath feels on your neck,
As they leave trails of love behind;
And how their face fits perfectly,
Between your cupped hands;
There lies something special,
In the familiarity of it all,
The familiarity of them,
And their scent,
Which you’d recognise anywhere;
Or the taste of their lips that lingers on you;
Even long after they are gone;
Or how their arms rest on the curve of your back,
While your chin lands on their shoulder;
What a great joy it is,
To know what love feels like;
And what great joy it is,
To discover,
That love feels like you,
That love feels like home.
Do you remember last summer,
That seemed to pass in a blur?
It was so different from this one;
Which just doesn’t seem to be done.
Last summer might have been the best one yet,
However, sadly we might never experience it again.
Those days filled with music and dance,
Wearing summer clothes and getting in and out of cars.
Last summer was so full of hope and energy,
It was full of parties and times spent leisurely.
Those days spent lying under the alluring skies,
Amidst musical laughter and glimmering eyes.
The days when before us lay infinite possibilities and dreams,
When we’d always be happy in the moment, making memories.
Those summer days when all we did was have fun,
Before in different directions we’d all turn.
That summer, which felt like a cool breeze from the sea,
Last summer, which now ceased to be.
No one thought this summer would be so unfair.
That it’d filled with death and despair,
And spent alone, sitting at home, Fearing the unknown.
I long for last summer,
As I pray for this one to end,
Do you remember last summer?
Because it wasn’t a nightmare.
A Forlorn Forever
Does love cease to exist? Or forever grow?
The answer to this not too many know.
In tranquility and in peace I sit here,
Watching the azure sight of skies so clear.
Hours pass, the moon in the distance glows,
While the distance between us grows.
The grey clouds now hang aloft,
As I continue to sit here lost in thought
Watching. The dark clouds that move fast,
Towards me seem heavy and vast.
Clouds disguised as thoughts of you,
Bringing back memories that leave me blue.
And though we remain a mere story of the past,
Just the mention of your name makes the gloom last,
And these clouds that moved so fast towards me,
now lie above, moving ever so slowly,
Leaving me stranded on this island of love,
Wondering if only love is ever enough.
Then as the rain starts to pour, my tears start to fall,
Turns out love without anguish isn’t possible at all.
And even though forever didn’t end with you and me,
In the crevices of my heart, love for you doesn’t cease to be.
