me.
"Hiya! My name is Carrie Stonet. You're new here, wanna eat lunch together?" She asked. I could understand her barely. I decided to come clean with her, I showed her my hearing aids. She looked at them but seemed unfased. I smiled at her and nodded. We walked together and then I saw Hale sitting with another guy. He was tall, very built, and looking at a girl by me.
The girl walks up to me and Carrie. "Hey Carrie! How are things going?" Her friend asked Carrie with an excited expression. Carrie was talking to her but I couldn't understand. Her friend turned to me and said, "Hi. My name is Marilyn. Nice to meet you." She held out her hand, and I shook it. I turned back to Hale and began walking to him. Carrie and Marilyn were looking at me shocked.
I stood in front of Hale, he was looking at me with a smile on his face. I began signing, 'So, how was your day so far?' He looked at me and shrugged. I giggled silently and sat on his lap. His friend was staring at me as if just did the craziest thing ever. Carrie and Marilyn were just staring at me. Hale's body was moving in a motion I recognized as laughter, so I laughed too.
                                                                         *Carter*
I was chillin with my friends at lunch, when I see Hazel. She's sitting on some guy's lap and laughing with Carrie Stonet, the jocky type of girl, Marilyn Swaise, a big flirt, Terrence Drones, football jock, and some guy I don't even know. I felt something twist inside me, like I was sick. I grimaced at the thought that that might be her boyfriend. *Why do I even care?* I questioned myself.
My brother, Carson, saw me staring, and followed my gaze. His eyes trailed over Hazel, and his mouth twitched up in a small smile. "Hey Carter, got eyes for the new girl?" Carson asked me in a joking manner. I blushed slightly, earning me a raised eyebrow from Carson. "I got it right? You like girls like her?" I blushed again. *No" I told myself. "I don't normally like girls like her.* I sighed, got my courage, and started walking toward her.
                                                                               *Hale*
I was sitting at a table with my friend Terrence, when Nash, my nickname for Hazel, comes walking up to me. She then sighed, 'So, how was your day so far?' she signed to me. I shrugged my shoulders, nothing really happened so far. She giggled and sat on my lap. I saw out the corner of my eyes that Terence was staring wide-eyed at Nash. The two girls with Nash were also just staring at her. I laughed and so did Nash.
All of a sudden, there was this guy standing in front of me and Nash, glaring at me. I tensed up a bit, his eyes boring into me. Nash's eyes followed my gaze when she felt my body tense. She was looking at this guy with recognition and something else. I think it was annoyance. Looking more than slightly annoyed, she talked to him. "Can I help you with something?"
I can't believe she was talking to him. She hates talking, she prefers sign language. He began talking as a bunch of guys came up behind him. "Uh yeah. My name's Carter, we never really introduced ourselves yesterday." He said in a deep voice. *Yesterday?!* I thought angrily.
                                                                              *Carrie*
Wow! Hazel sure has a lot of interesting people around her. She has Carter Kackston(sophomore), the bad-boy of the school. His ink-black, curly hair, tan yet pale skin, and the most amazing blue eyes there is. There’s also Terrence Drones(junior), the football monkey of the school. He has shoulder-length ,bleach-blonde hair. His skin is rocking a summer tan, and he has these amazing chocolate brown eyes. And last, but not least is Hale Fonst(junior), the new guy. He’s all height, way tall. His dark-brown hair with streaks of red when the sun hits, is short short. Believe it or not, he’s pale but pretty built. His eyes are different from Hazel’s eyes, they are blueish, grey, like storm clouds.
                                                                             *Hazel*
I am now panicking! Did Carter really have to tell Hale about before? I feel Hale tense up again. He's staring at me with an intense expression. 'What on Earth did he mean by YESTERDAY!?' Hale signed in a swift motion. I looked down a bit embarassed and ashamed. I was told many times not to go into the forest, that it was dangerous. I always ignored them, and now I had to tell Hale.
'Well you see, I was in the forest drawing and I met him there.' I signed then pointed to Carter. It was only then that I noticed everyone staring. I blushed a bright red when the principal came up to me. He talked slowly so i could understand him. "Is there a problem here Miss Fonst?" I shook my head slowly. I then got a text, and opened my phone.
As the students around me saw I opened my phone in front of the principal their eyes bulged. I looked at the message, (Honey, Please come home. We have to take you to the doctor to get your medication.) It was from my mom. I walked up to the principal and showed him the message. He nodded and I walked up to Hale. 'Mom needs to take me to the doctor. You need to drive me home please.' I signed to him.
                                                                            *Carter*
I watched in astonishment as Hazel took out her phone in front of the merciless principal. She even walked right up to him and put the phone in his face, and did he take it away? NO! He just nods his head as she shows the guys she was sitting on. Then they both walk toward the parking lot and drive away. I felt a twinge of disappointment now that she was gone.
My brother calls me to him and whispers, "Hey, wanna go for a run?" I nod. We then walk slowly toward the forest, once we're in the open we shift. As usual, we feel the strange snap of our bones, the extension of our claws and fangs. I walk slowly toward the small river that I found Hazel at. I don't know why, but I feel a strange pull to her. I want to be near her and make sure she is always safe.
I look into the clear water of the river, and stare at my wolf's reflection. A midnight black coat with a white-tipped tail. And you can't forget the ominous yellowish-gold eyes. When I think of Hazel one thing comes to mind, MINE!
                                                                             *Hazel*
After mom and I picked up my medication, we rode home quickly. Once home I rushed upstairs and grabbed my sketchpad and stuffed it in my backpack. I quickly ran downstairs and signed to mom 'i'm gonna go do my homework outside.' She nodded her okay and I sprinted outside before she could think of why I'd do home outside. I ran fast toward the river so I could finish the sketch from yesterday.
When I arrived at the river I saw an amazing pitch black wolf with a white-tipped tail. It was staring at it's reflection in the water. I felt something crunch beneath my shoe, and looked down to see and twig snapped in half. I felt a stare and looked up to find the wolf staring at me with odd yellow eyes. They were kinda ominous, but they looked friendly. The wolf trotted to where I was, and sniffed my hair. I giggled when his wet nose touched my cheek.
The wolf's tongue lashed out and licked my face. I giggled more as the rough tongue hung out the wolf's mouth, it kinda looks like he's grinning at me. I held my hand out and he sniffed it before rubbing his face against it. His fur had a rough texture at first, but then as I pushed my hand further in the fur and smiled when it got amazingly soft. The wolf's throat gulped, and he pressed himself closer to me. The wolf turned his head and I followed his stare to a grayish blue colored wolf. The gray wolf opened his mouth and then the black wolf opened his. I can only assume that they're communicating.
                                                                             *Carter*
Shortly after Hazel showed up, my brother came and saw Hazel's hand in my fur. Hazel followed my stare to Carson, and looked back and forth between us as we barked (talked), to each other.

Carson: What are you doing?
Carter: Nothing.
Carson: A human's hand is in your fur?!
Carter: So?
Carson: So, if you don't get rid of her, I WILL!

I growled at the threat to her. I then ran back to the house and shifted to my human form. Carson came back shifted as well. "What the hell man?! Why are you even around that human?!" I was about to say something before he began going on and on and on. "I mean seriously! Why are you hanging around her?! You need to stay away from her and keep her out the pack's forest! If the alpha catches wind of this, he'll have her terminated! You need to get her away from here, if you don't, I WILL!"
I growled again, and turned to my brother. "If you touch one hair on her head, you're dead! She's MINE!!!!!!" I growled once more then froze. *Mine? What am I saying?* My brother blinked then just stared at me.
"She's your mate!! Oh my gosh, you found your mate!" Now it's my turn to blink and stare. *I found my mate?* Just then my dad came in, and my brother ran up to him. "Guess what?! Carter found his mate!" My dad blinked then ran up and patted me on the shoulder.
"Good job boy! So who's the lucky girl? What's she like? Do we know her? How'd you meet her?" My dad just kept throwing questions at me. I laughed thinking of when he found out that she's deaf. My dad
