"I'm sorry," She heard him whisper, the sound carried by the wind and to her ears.
"No you aren't," Evelyn whispered under her breath, knowing he would hear her if he had intensified breathing like in the book, "My life's a living hell," she said so it was clearer and pushed off of the limb, not evening watching as she fell, she felt as if she was floating in the air, except her hair was rushing around her, tickling her face. She kept her eyes closed, hoping when it was her funeral there would be a closed casket unlike her parent's who had stony faces and there eyes like glass, someone had forgotten to close them.
She felt strong, warm arms wrap around her, everything happening in a span of about three seconds.
"God, you scared the shit out of me, you weren't even trying, yet you still did you stupid girl," She heard him say and felt kisses being pressed on her cheeks and forehead, avoiding her lips.
"What's your name?" Evelyn asked in a soft, velvet whisper.
"Lance,"
And everything went black.

Evelyn fought against her eyelids, they felt heavy but the rest of her felt refreshed and new. Fighting hard against her eyelids, she managed to open one eye and peeked around, she saw she was in a room, it looked like a bedroom judging by the dresser and small TV with video games and a Xbox.
Forcing her other eye open, she slowly slid off of a tall, soft bed and onto a light brown carpeted floor and she smiled at the feeling of it against her bare feet. Walking towards a wooden door, she heard footsteps heading towards it and took a sharp intake of breath and whirled around, running the short distance back to the bed and flinging herself onto it, laying as she had been when she had woken up, her eye lids closed lightly and she was still trying to slow her heart beat down when the door opened and bunches of footsteps walked in.
"Dude, I'm sorry, I was just jealous about you finding your mate, I mean, aren't I irresistible?" She heard a voice that she recognized and determined it as Cory's.
"Fine, I accept your apology, now get out before you get jealous ad hurt my ma-" The voice she knew all to well, Lance, was saying but she forced her eyes back open and sat up, glaring at the two of them who had been talking loudly by the door.
"What the hell is wrong with you? I am not your 'mate' you mutt, and you are not even irresistible you... I don't know what to call you, no swear word quite sums you up," Evelyn snarled at them, their faces shocked before Lance's softened, his green eyes melting her insides but she held her composure.
Lance walked over to her, reaching to touch her arm but she yanked back, someone had taken her sweatshirt off and she felt vulnerable since so many could touch her skin. He didn't give up, he grabbed her hand and a shock went through her system and her eyes like it always did, blurred over, dulling the intensity of the turquoise.
She heard his thoughts, and since his grip was tight, they didn't stop Oh god, I'm so happy she's awake, she must be hungry and thirsty, a entire week asleep, I hope I never experience it. I hope she likes me, or even loves, I would die if she didn't, I hope she won't reject me, I can feel the small bit of werewolf blood pulsing through her veins... and that other stuff, it's like a coating that keeps her alive, oh god please let her be alright.
He thought, suddenly a thought shifted to the front What about what she said before? I shouldn't have let her get that close to my wolf... God knows how much he enjoyed it, please let her accept me...
"Dude, I think she's in shock or something, maybe she thinks your going to kill her, look at her eyes, something happened, they're like glazed over," Evelyn heard Cory say, it seemed far away, as if coming threw a broken transceiver that had been stuffed under a pillow.
"Oh god, am I hurting her?" Lance's voice said, with the same effect as Cory's as he pulled his hand away, releasing her arm and she jolted back to reality.
"S-stay away from me," Evelyn mumbled, pushing herself away from Lance who had come to sit on the edge of the bed by her, she curled into a ball as far away as she could from him, covering her exposed skin with the blanket.
"Dude, remember what she said? About the thing about not liking people touching her?" Cory asked and she glared at him, warning him with a deathly look to shut up.
"Yeah, get Lilly in here pronto," Lance said and he stood, standing at the door after Cory had run down the hallway, "Lilly is my older brother's mate, she's a sweetheart so please, don't yell at her, it'll infuriate my brother since she won't do anything to stop you, she just takes it," Evelyn nodded slowly.
A small women burst into the room in a sparkling blue light and Lance walked out, mouthing 'Her' to Evelyn before closing the door behind him.
"Oh, you must be the new girl, may I ask your name? It seems the boys are to stupid to tell anyone, their mean of communication often annoys me," Lilly said in a surprisingly strong voice, yet soothing at the same time and as smooth as silk.
"Evelyn," She murmured as Lilly sat on the edge of the bed, turning around with her legs on the bed and crossed them.
"That's such a pretty name for a very beautiful girl," Lilly murmured back, smiling at her and Evelyn gave a weak, small smile, feeling comforted at her presence, "How old are you, may I ask?"
"Sevente- no, eighteen, my birthday was two days ago by the sound of it," Evelyn said as Lilly frowned slightly.
"Well, to cheer you up a little, I am thirty-four, but don't say anything to Lance's brother Daniel, he likes to say he's twenty-six instead," Lilly said, smiling warmly at her.
"I heard that!" A deep voice called from far away, probably downstairs or something and Evelyn giggled and Lilly let out a tinkling laugh that made her smile.
"Now, honey, I understand that you like to avoid skin contact, but could you just touch me, just a little tap, I won't move a muscle," Lilly murmured and Evelyn gave a shaky nod, reaching her hand out that was shaking and tapped Lilly's arm, but she didn't hear anything, just a slight vibration as if Lilly was blocking her out, she did it again and had the same effects making her wonder.
"Are you a..." Evelyn mumbled and Lilly nodded, smiling.
"Yup, witch, but Daniel makes everyone call me a fairy, though I don't care at all," Lilly said, "But before you ask questions, could you tell me when it began?" and Evelyn nodded, tears threatening to spill and Lilly held out her arms "Come here," and Evelyn did, the first touch of skin against hers that didn't hurt or making her hear anyone's thoughts.
Evelyn gave her a small smile as Lilly held her in her arms, hugging her gently as she counted back to the accident.
Evelyn sighed and began her story, her heart aching for it to be a dream, "It was a tuesday, we were driving back from the lake and my dad decided we should go get ice cream, but..." she said and took a deep breath "I-It was right past a bar and s-someone w-was just l-leaving," she took another deep breath and blinked her eyes a couple of times "I don't know, they made me sit in the back... we saw the car leaving but when we swerved, they swerved after us, and all I remember was the pain, and my skin... It burned like crazy and I had a headache when I woke up in the hospital,"
"Oh honey, it's okay, I can help you, you can stop now," Lilly said, stroking her long hair and Evelyn nodded, "Are you hungry? Or thirsty?" she asked and Evelyn nodded, she stood and Lilly pulled her through the door by her wrist making Evelyn smile, she was like a kid but wise and older than a kid.
"Thank you," She mumbled to her and Lilly flashed her a smile before leading her down stairs and into a big kitchen.
"Do you like eggs? It's about ten pm but breakfast food is always good," Lilly aid, her head in the fridge as she searched for food.
"Yes, please," Evelyn said, standing back as she watched Lilly walk around the kitchen, pulling out a pan and eggs and butter and milk. She smiled as she saw her cook, she had never cooked that well and she felt her mouth water at the wonderful aroma.
"Here," Lilly said as she set the plate down on a table, "Be careful though, they're hot,"
"Okay, thank you," Evelyn murmured again, sitting down in a chair and eating the eggs with a fork Lilly had handed her. Once she was finished, she stood and brought the dishes to the sink, she was about to wash them when Lilly took them gently from her hands.
"I'll get that, you should go back and rest, you had a pretty big shock and from what I heard, Lance touched you for a long time so that must hurt, it happened to me when I was young," Lilly said, washing the dishes and putting them away.
Evelyn nodded and walked out of the kitchen and down a hallway, she watched the ground and felt herself hit a hard check and quickly stepped back.
"Sorry," She mumbled as she walked past, hurrying up the stairs and walking back to the room she was in before. She peeked inside, glad nobody was in there, and closed the door behind her. She walked to the edge of the bed, pulling back the covers and slipping in, pulling them over
