Jan nodded asking her the same thing with his eyes.
'Aah, I had such a bad headache from travelling all afternoon yesterday,' she told them. 'I'm okay now.'
They carried on eating in silence until Kyran and Aiiko appreared looking excited.
'Why are you so happy?' Kai asked them.
'Aunty took us to the Captain's Cabin, we were speaking to him, he said we're passing by the Philippine islands!' Kyran cheered happily.
'Really?' Kai raised his eyebrows.
'You're like a bunch of girls getting excited over this kind of things,' Director Cheng told them, not bothering to look up from her food.
'Admit it, you're excited, Sis,' Aiiko grinned down at her.
Director Cheng snorted and got up, took her tray and went to put it away. She left with a word that she's going to the sauna to relax.

Mimi appeared at the dining hall's double doors, her eyes surveyed the hall for a moment and jumped behind a potted plant next to the self serving counter. The boy from yesterday stood at the table where Kai sat poking at his breakfast, seemingly uninterested at the exciting news his friends were telling him and the boy, what was his name? Jan.
Her mother came around the corner and she tried to look nonchalant and observant of the plant she was hiding behind still.
'Aren't you having breakfast?' her mother asked, looking at the plant where her daughter is much too engrossed in. She took her daughter by the hand, rolling her eyes at her and handed her a white plate. She didn't have much of an appetite and had some croissant and chocolate spread with coffee instead. She placed her breakfast on a tray. Her mother inspected her plate and gave her a meaningful look over her reading glasses.
'What?' Mimi questioned at her with her eyes.
Her mother seemed to appease and headed towards a table by the windows.
Mimi made for the seat that faced the ballroom but her mother got there first. Bitterly, she sat opposite her mother, trying to adjust her seat casually to block Kai and his friends from sight.
Her mother looked at her again observantly over her glasses and the book she was reading. Mimi smiled innocently hoping it would work.
'You're acting odd today,' her mother observed. 'Did something happen last night?' Her mother had a strange twinkle in her eye.
'Like what?' Mimi asked genuinely confused.
Her mother noticed that her daughter was not bluffing and returned to her book. Mimi casted a quick glance behind her. Yay! Kai had stood up to leave and one of his friends took his finished plate over to the tray rack. When she turned back around, her mother was sipping her tea, Mimi saw her glance around and cursed inside her head as her mother recognised Kai.
'Hm.' Her mother swallowed and called out in the middle of breakfast. 'Kai!' before signalling for him to come over.
Kai turned to look, and Mimi turned in her seat praying desperately that his friends wouldn't come with him.
'Good morning, Aunty,' she heard him greet behind her. Another chorus, with more male voices repeated after him. Oh, she felt like disappearing.
'How are you boys this morning?' she asked conversationally, beaming at their little crowd.
'Aunty, it's a nice day, you should come play bowling with us outside,' Kyran suggested excitedly, leanign over Kai and Jan's shoulder.
'Aha, no sorry, dear, I've already made time for some friends today,' Mimi's mother apologized. Then a thought came to mind, 'But I'm sure Mimi here would like to go, she always likes to beat her cousins when she plays.'
Mimi was desperately trying to look away, out to the ocean in fact. Anything to avoid the eyes that were on her now. She shot a warnign glance at her mother.
'What?' Her mother asked with her own eyes.
She turned hesitantly to the group of boys. She smiled politely and nodded in agreement. Her mother nudged her shin under the table. She got up, and followed the boys, shooting a helpless glance at her mother who didn't even bother looking up from her book.
She marched resentfully behind the boys, out onto the deck into the bright sunlight.

'Have you always played?' Director Cheng asked.
'No, I began when I founf my father's violin in my attic, that was when I was twelve.'
'Wow! That sounds so romantic,' Director Cheng gasped, 'do you play anything else?'
'Er, the guitar, but not very well since I taught myself, and the piano for two years now.'
'Excellent! You could audition at our company when you graduate,' she trilled.
Mimi smiled a little, 'Maybe,' she mumbled. The silence was then filled with the rolling of the bowling ball on the polished wood and the sound of the pins getting knocked over. 'Director,' she began to keep the conversation going.
'-Gia,' the Director corrected. 'I don't like being addressed like that out of work,' she explained.
'Gia...' Mimi began again before grinning, 'how come you're a Director at such a young age.'
Gia giggled.
'Ayo, because my dad is 'The Boss',' she explained lightly. 'He found my talent for modelling, I didn't like it and told him I'd rather much do Directing. He put me in charge over those bunch of kids,' she laughed, pointing at Jan, Kai and Aiiko sitting down opposite them as they waited for Kyran's turn to end.
The boys finishes their game by throwing the winner - Kyran - over the edge of the pool.
They began another game, this time with Gia and Mimi playing. Three versus three.
The competition turned loud. The boys had provoked their director and turned her into a competitive player. Mimi was laughing hard as Gia bowled her fourth consecutive strike. The boys had finally stopped laughing then, and the competition turned serious.
In the end they triumphed, Mimi, Gia and Kyran were all pushed into the swimming pool.
'By doing that, you also lost the moral victory because you can't accept being losers,' Kyran laughed.
'Hey,' the reast of the boys yelled before ganging up on him. Gia and Mimi laughed as they made their way back inside.
