I don't sleep with my wife anymore, but long for your loving arms and warm body. But for now I do hope you forgive me for not showing up on that Friday evening, yet as you can see it couldn't be helped. Maybe this is God's way of sparing us all for not being good Christians, who knows. I could kick myself in the rear for getting involved, and not sticking to my vows. But I don't love my wife, and haven't for a very long time. I do love you with all my heart, and will never forget our nights together.( even though they were short) I find myself torn between a rock and a hard place, because I want nothing more than to be back in your arms and bed. Only life has thrown us a curve ball, especially now that her father has taken ill. Although at this point we don't know if he will survive, but she is devoted to him and said she wont leave him. And I am stuck doing the work on the farm, tending the cows, horses, and other things he used to do.
I can't tell you where I am at, just I hope you forgive me and keep the ring close to you and me in your heart. It's one of those unforeseen occurrences that Good Book always spoke about happening. I don't regret the things we have done, or planned to do for our future either. I just wanted you to know how sorry I am, and why I, we had to leave so suddenly.
Forever yours,
Johnnie

As I put the letter down, I breathed a sigh of relief from knowing that he would always love me. And yes I do forgive him for leaving, and now I know it wasn't his fault... just one of those things. I returned the letter to the envelope and held it to my chest, noticing I had left the ring he'd given to me on my hand. Looking at it made me smile, and feel a sense of happiness all over again. Because deep down I knew that we would be together when all this terrible mess was over. I am sure he is thinking the same things, even though it would take some time. I finished my cup of tea, as Chelsea walked over and started to purr and act like she was hungry.
I stood up and began to think 'Life goes on, good or bad!'
