as quick as lightning I snap his neck and let his body fall limp to the ground. For a second the crowd went quiet, you can hear the birds flying overhead and the ants busily working under our feet. Then the crowd burst out in an uproarious cheer. I fall to my knees and smile to myself knowing that I just won.
I know I should feel a bit of guilt for killing a person but in all honesty I don’t feel any remorse or bad feelings towards killing Lukus. I don’t know rather it’s because of my nature or because he stood in the way of my sister’s freedom or a combination of both, but otherwise I do not care and never will.
I make my way towards Doc and Tracey’s smiling faces as the crowds throw various items at me in appreciation, the crowd actually started chanting my name, and I can’t help but stick my chest up high. They were now on the field, when I got close enough my sister jumped into my arms hugging me close, but I quickly put her down. I was soaked with blood, mine and Lukus, and my nose and mouth is still running freely but I give her an award winning smile. Plus I think if I held her much longer I would have collapsed, any extra pressure put on my body would result in my body completely shutting down. But I bend down to get eye level with my little sister, and after wiping the blood from my mouth I give her a kiss on the forehead and smile at her.
“We won!” I shout and she hugs me again and laughs. “Hey bud you know what that means you’re free!”
“Yeah I know but what about you?” She asks, I knew this question was gonna come up soon.
“I’m gonna be with you every step of the way.” I want to say but since Tracey is right here as well as Doc I choose to say, “I don’t know baby I don’t know.” I say and stand up and that’s when Liz attacks me in a big hug, I laugh and hug her for all I’m worth at the moment, so I hugged her pretty softly. She only laughed and pulled away looking at me with tear filled eyes.
“You did it!” She exclaims playfully punching my arm, “I knew you could do it!” She says as I mockingly poked my chest out as Luke did earlier on in the day.
“Yeah I had to teach that amateur over there how the pros do it.” I joked pointing in the general direction of Lukus’ lifeless body; Liz only laughed and shook her head. Doc and Tracey at this time joined the group smiling, but not in a warming way. We moved closer to the middle of the field as the crowd started to exit behind Doc and everybody else, me and Liz looked at each other for a split second knowing that soon in a few seconds we would have to carry out the plan. See this isn’t Liz’s first tournament she’s been too a lot of other ones obviously, so she knows how it works and it it’s pretty easy to go and blend it with the crowd especially since she got both of us hat to hide our stripes, and even if a few people notice me they would not dare cross my path.
“I’m so glad you won I would hate to have killed your sister so soon, she’s a really great motivator for you.” Doc says patting me on the shoulder in a possessive way. I shrugged off his hand and shrugged my shoulders as if it was nothing.
“Yeah well nothing matters except my sister is safe, talking about that…” All of a sudden Tracey’s and Doc’s eyes went wide and then ice started to form from the bottom of their shoes to the top of their heads, basically they were frozen alive. I smile at Liz while Saliyah stares at them dumbfounded; I chuckle and grab her hand then run towards the entrance. Maybe if I keep my head down no one will notice me. So we put on our caps, and we blend in with the crowd a few people gave me some odd looks, but for the most part no one payed any attention to us. I hold Saliyah’s hand tighter and remind her to stay with me. I lean over to my right and smile at Liz, she brightly smiles back and shakes my arm in an excited way, but I can tell she’s nervous, getting out of here can’t be that easy. Luckily and oddly nobody has noticed the frozen bodies in the middle of the arena yet, it’s just a matter of time before someone goes to help them.
When we break away from the crowd we notice we are in a grass land, and I notice that there is no parking lot, everybody is just parked on the grass. I look far out and see that for miles and miles ahead there is nothing of human cultivation to be seen only an open wide field surrounded on its side by trees. But we keep moving ahead trying to get far away from our captors before somebody comes and gets us, soon we reach a wooded area, and since we all are tired we go to rest under a tree deep in the woods. As I sit down Saliyah sits to my right laying her head down on my lap and Liz to my left leaning against the tree beside me.
"So today has been eventful!" Liz exclaims and Saliyah giggles, I on the other hand roll my eyes, yeah todays been eventful alright.
"So what are we gonna do now?" Saliyah says looking at me, I sigh and think for a minute.
"Well I know one thing we are leaving this place far behind, then we'll try to make a life for ourselves." I reply with a smile, Liyah smiles then look at Liz and asks me,
"Is she going to be with us?" Referring to Liz, I look at her and she nods her head, so I turn back to Liyah and say.
"Yupp she's staying with us!" Saliyah seems happy about this, actually she's so happy about it she gets up and celebrates. I and Liz laugh at her playfulness.
"Oh this is going to be awesome! We can get a house and we can-"
"No one is going anywhere!!"A voice that belongs to none other than Doc interrupts my little sister; both I and Liz are on our feet in seconds! What the hell is he doing unfrozen, and better yet how did he find us! I stand in front of my sister while Liz stands behind her as we try to find where the voice is coming from.
"You know, if you don't leave now I'll kill you, trust me it'll make it a whole lot easier for me then having you alive!" I exclaim, no way am I gonna let this man take me back to where ever we've been kept for all these months!
"Well you're going to have to kill more than just me to insure your freedom-" And that's when he materializes right in front of me, but he isn't the only one who has come out of their hiding spot a bunch of other humans are on the treetops and ground and they are surrounding us, how didn't I notice or hear them! "You're going to have to kill them all too." He says with a smile as he boldly walks towards me, all I need for him is to touch me because I'm not moving from where I am. “And you know thinking about it I think when we capture you and take you back in, we'll keep your sister for let’s say, hmm, encouragement?" He says and that’s when the blood inside my body begins to boil from anger my fists start to shake, and I try hard to stay rooted in my spot.
"You are not taking neither three of us anywhere!" I say through clenched teeth, staring him straight in the eyes, I want him to feel all the anger and hate I have towards him.
"Oh yeah?" He responds back getting directly in my space, I have had enough! I put my back foot back ready to attack when all of a sudden I feel a sharp pain in my arm I look down and I see a red dart. He chuckles and says- "Now what were you saying again about not taking you anywhere?" Everything all of a sudden is colliding together and my vision is getting blurry, NO, this can't be happening right now. I stumble a bit forward as I try to keep my balance, I hear Liz shout my name and that's the last thing I hear before everything goes black!
