clock above him, while his mother was seating on the waiting chairs. After a few minutes the train arrived. A train officer signaled everyone to show their ticket before embarking the train. But before that, Dylan did another thing. He went straight to his mother that was about to stood up from her chair and told her that:
“Mother… before we go, I want to tell you that I’ll take care of you… I promised father I’ll do that…and I’ll be at your side always… I promise…”
Her mother was surprised of Dylan having more of a mature tone now. She was happy to hear it from Dylan himself. She embraced Dylan in the middle of this crowd all wanting to get in on the train. People didn't mind them, if they caused a traffic in flow, eventually the two started to embark the train like anybody else.
The train was only starting its journey, the ride was smooth and it cruised in a minimum speed. Dylan was seated on the window seat beside his mother that was seated on the aisle. Dylan was pondering on the window of the train seeing the beautiful scenery they were passing through. There was a lot of tall, green trees, picturesque vast land of vineyards, towering mountains and it was a clear blue sky above. All of this was on his view. He looked at his mother and saw that she was sleeping, he arranged his mother’s hair noticing it was a bit messy then turned back again to the window. After 10 hours of travel they finally arrived at his aunt’s house. Bags were in every part of Dylan’s body, carrying some important but heavy stuff they needed. Dylan’s mother knocked on the door’s house. After several tries of knocking no one seemed to answer their call. So Dylan dropped some bags and tried to go at the back of the house. Then suddenly someone greeted them from behind saying “a long ride?” Its Dylan’s aunt who said it.
“Anna!” Said by Dylan’s mother
“Auntie Anna” said by Dylan.
“How were you guys? Tired? , come on get in, I bought a lot of food for tonight.”
They all started to get inside the house, except for Dylan who was still picking up some bags he dropped a while ago. Dylan forcefully picked up all the remaining bags and after he did, he just stood there for a moment looking above to the clouds; he smiled, then got in and shut the door.
Several years had passed, when one early morning someone had been knocking on the door of Anna’s house in a hardly manner. No one was awake except for Dylan who heard it. He rushed into the door and check what it was. When he opened the door he was surprised to see his uncle Lenardo.
“Uncle Lenardo!” In his happiness he hugged him dearly.
“Dylan my son..! Lenardo replied.
“Where is father?” then the painted smile of his uncle’s face turn into a more serious of a look.
“We have to talk” Lenardo replied, showing he has a letter holding it up.
Anna and Dylan’s mother heard the noise so they followed it seeing Lenardo on the door with a letter on his hand.
In the living room Lenardo read the letter for them. When everyone started hearing the words, it was emotional reaction you can see condescending to the face of each and every one of them. The letter was made by Dylan’s father Marcuse. The letter was made before their headquarters was bomb the next morning. His uncle Lenardo was another officer for the army. Dylan’s father gave the letter to him a day before their office was bombed. Luckily for Lenardo he left a day earlier. Lenardo told the whole story to them depicting how hard it was for them to leave their family and their loved one’s just to protect their principle. A principle that they believed will bring peace soon in their country and to the world. A principle that could unite them together with all the other nation as one. As everyone started to cry, Dylan stood up from his chair and gazed upon the window. He was looking above to the clouds which one of it shaped the face of his father.
At present again….
Dylan was gazing above the clouds now smiling. He went back to his chair sat on it and opened the book that contains the letter. He read the final line of his father once again saying “Family is the reason why I’m here, our world is our family, and our family is our world”. He closed the book in a spurt and hugged it after; he has no plan of letting it go. But then again he glanced to the book’s cover one last time with his eyes sparkling by just seeing it which is entitled “How the world became one” by Dylan Crossale…
