“You!” Elizabeth commanded. Janet jumped having not expected such a loud voice. “Come inside, now!”
Janet scurried inside the Queen’s chambers feeling like a young girl about to be punished for something she did not do. Elizabeth was not surprised at all with Janet screamed.
“Shush woman.” Elizabeth growled at the terrified maid. “You are going to help me with something.”
“Y-yes My Queen.” Janet stutters as she stares at the lifeless body of Anna bound in rope. “Wha-what can I-I help you with?”
Elizabeth pointed to the body. “You will help me hang this on that hook.”
Janet looked at the Queen, her eyes filled with fear and confusion. “But why?” She couldn’t help but ask.
Elizabeth decided to let it pass. “We are aging very quickly my dear. Wouldn’t you like that process to slow or stop all together?”
Janet nodded her head in conformation. Of course, not many people want to die especially when living in a palace.
“You see, the blood of this dear ugly girl will help with that.” Elizabeth said softly. Better to share then to have none at all. “I’ll even let you use some.”
Janet’s head jerked to the Queen and away from the body. “But My Queen, how would does her blood help this process. It cannot be stopped.”
Elizabeth grinned darkly. “Oh but it can.”
And just like that the two women were hefting Anna’s body into the hook and draining her blood.
Anna was loved by many of the servants and greatly missed. She had been last seen attending to the queen. But her name was only the first to be mentioned through the years of Queen Bathory and Janet’s killings. Neither of them wanted to die, and were willing to do anything not to. And, it all started with a slap.
