I turned around and took off my hat as the organ started playing the hymn again. I didn’t look at any of the faces, because I probably wouldn’t have seen them anyway. I just walked down the aisle as I slowly listening to the music. The tears came down but I didn’t lose composure. I didn’t scream and I didn’t wail. I just gradually walked with my face blank, blinking away the endless tears that rolled down the crease of my mouth. Quietly I sang my mother and I’s favorite verse in the hymn as I opened the church doors exposing the brillantly shining sun.
