After a number of disagreements with the leader of the rebellion, Jafarr is left behind during a supply raid. And while on duty monitoring People's Military communications, he alone discovers a code identifying the raiding party--and marking them for annihilation.

Zormna is snagged along by her friends to watch a Pronuk match in the Surface Gate. But while in there, she is sure she has spotted the guy she had nabbed trying to steal Surface Patrol property weeks ago... and who had escaped under the People's Military's custody.

Roddy Mayhem, a fifteen year old half-imp who had been abandoned by his mother at birth, pretty much figured that life sucked--but he was going to make the best of it. Living homeless on a California beach, surving on petty theft and imp abilities, Roddy prefers it to joining the Unseelie Gang--a group of punk half-imps who want nothing more than to ingratiate themselves to the Unseelie Court and with the favor of Queen Maeve. But the gang wants him and his gifts and won't let him get away.

After his disasterous summer in Alabama, Rick Deacon is unable to focus on his studies at Brown University. Daisy MacTire is the only thing he can think about. Addicted to her smell, Rick had been under severe watch since his return from Alabama, and he is most especially worried as he is about to be a young father.

While Audry Bruchenhaus is finishing her Master's Thesis on the effect of outdoor recreational on wildlife reserves, she bumps into Howard Richard Deacon III (Rick Deacon) again. This is the third time in her life that that she has encountered him, and each time his presence seems to create a kind of chaos.

While waiting for her scores to the adult test (the test that grants adult status to a citizen) Zormna Clendar gets dragged into a project within the People's Military compound ISIC, revealing a great deal about the PM's plans for their future.

Howard Richard Deacon III (Rick Deacon) is scheduled to be at the same environmental conference as Audry Bruchenhaus--and she is dreading bumping into into him. Their last encounter was a little embarrassing, and all she wants is to raise money for her Africa animmal rescue trip. But her best seller is a wolf tee shirt featuring none other than the wolf whom she had rescued several winters ago on Deacon land--which draws in the kooks.

Jafarr's time is up. The People's Military have decided that he had played the kid long enough. Jafarr is forced to take the Adult Test 'fairly', tightly watching his results... which frighten them. And now his final days of 'childhood freedom' are gone.

Some serious, some tongue-in-cheek, poems gleaned from the dusty files in my computer about life, fictional characters and travel.

Once more Audry Bruchenhaus and Howard Richard Deacon III cross paths, only this time Audry has returned from Africa with a soon-to-be fiancee while Rick is dealing with PTSD from the disatser in Germany.
