I could remember that day clearly ….
I felt the damp cool weather of Cyree as I walked through the town. I was just getting a loaf of bread that was all. I saw Seth and his huge hooligan friends hanging out near a cart. I kept my head low and I looked at my dirty shoes. “Look its Mingy!” I heard one of Seth’s followers shout. I scowled and kept walking. “Heeeey Mingo!” Seth said and he walked in front of me. His crooked yellow teeth made me want to hurl and his greasy black hair was just as bad. “Go away Seth.” I said and stepped in front of him “Aw come on Mingo can’t we be friends?” Seth whined sarcastically. “I can’t be friends with the stupidest person in the world.”I grumbled under my breath. Unfortunately he heard me. “What did you say.” He snarled.
“Nothing, nothing.”
He threw me to the ground “That’s not what I heard.”
“Then you must be hearing things.”
“Apparently not.”
“Anger issues much?”

He punched me.

I rubbed my nose and felt blood. I got up and swung my fist but of course not being much of a fighter he dodged me easily. “Wow Mingo.” He laughed. “Shut up!” I yelled and charged at him. He threw me back and my head hit a cart. My eyesight was blurry for a moment and my ears rung. I knew I was faster than them. I made a break for it. I sprinted the opposite direction but one of his friends caught me and held my shoulders and brought me over to Seth. “Tell your fat friend to let go of me.” I said through my teeth “Or else what?” Seth said tauntingly. I usually don’t get angry easily but I was sick of this idiots pushing me around “Or else this!” I yelled and kicked him in the crotch as hard as I can (I seriously didnt think it was that hard. i mean come on. i was a wimpy little 13 year old kid but any way.)
Seth eyes widened and he whimpered with pain. He doubled over then fell. I saw tears in his eyes but then he shook his head and got up. He punched me in the gut, then the head, gut, head. Did this dude have to keep punching me over and over again. I felt blood on my face and I wanted to pass out. Then his friends came over and punched me. They threw me on the ground and I hit it with a satisfying thud. They started to come toward me again.

“Hey! Why don’t you pick up someone your own size!” a person said behind us. a tall (taller than all of Seth’s friends and Seth) boy with short black hair and brown eyes came into my view. I’ve seen this guy around before. He was nice and regular no one bothered him. But it was 1 on 4, poor guy. “Leave him alone.” He growled.
What was his name again, something with a T? Seth chuckled “Oh yea Tirie, your real scary.” He pronounced it like “Ti-re”. I waved to Tirie, I had a goofy smile on my face, and he probably thought I was drunk. “Get him.” Seth said and his followers charged. Tirie dodged and punched them easily. He was a natural fighter. Lucky. I couldn’t really see what was happening, I just saw a bunch of blurs moving around then one blur, like, killing them. I saw Seth looking scared when his friends were down “Now go away.” Tirie said and Seth ran, his hooligans got up and followed.
“Thanks.” I said. He held out his hand “Don’t worry bought it. Hey I’ve seen you before, what’s your name?” I took his hand and he hoisted me up “Mingo. I’m Mingo

.”

I felt tears dripping down my cheek and I put my head in my hands. No. I won’t cry. I looked up and felt all the anger rush into me. I remembered the man’s laugh when he saw Tirie lying dead at my feet. They had killed Tirie. My Tirie, and now they were going to pay.
