CHAPTER 1
Amblen Falls sure was pretty this time of year, when summer was over and fall was just beginning. This was the month of Voct here on Arca, a planet in a system very far from Earth.
Arca was a lot like Earth in fact. It has its seasons just as Earth did. Winter, spring, summer, and fall. The days however were 30 hours long not 24.
That meant 17 hours of daylight and 13 hours of darkness for at night. The months were shorter than Earth's. They were 28 not 31. Some went only to 24.
All in all Arca was a very nice planet. Not as big as the earth. Gravity was about the same, but a little less so people didn't get as tired. Good thing with the days being 30 hours long instead of 24.
Amblen Fall's orphanage's school just let out its occupants for the day. Children ran and played.
One such child whose imagination was strong, make believed she was a princess stolen away from her father who had lived in a far away land.
Angeleeka had imagined many a day, her king of a father come to rescue her from this prison she was being held in. The orphanage was in no way a prison and was very good to their children but you know had children can be. Especially ones like Angeleeka Jensen.
Her real father had worked on the wrong side of some empire. An empire that a tyrant by the name of Zartharyos reigned. Arca was safely tucked away within the Alliance Of Planets which went against everything this dark empire stood for and its evil Ruler.
It was said that the ruler had to live inside some kind of a cyborg type suit to keep him alive. He had been hurt very badly in some explosion many years ago. Angeleeka's father had worked for this man. He had been killed and deemed a traitor to the empire.
Angeleeka was picked on a lot by the other kids at the orphanage on the account that her father was deemed a yellow belly coward that tried to skip out.
Some of these orphaned kids' parents had worked for the empire in fact and had been killed in the line of duty. The Alliance Of Planets was at war with this empire and the orphaned children were taken and placed here hoping they'd get a good education and memories of what their parents had once been and the idea of them someday working also for this cruel empire, abandoned.
All they could do was hope that these children would chose a better life after being old enough to be on their own.
At least Academy Orphanage gave them that chance. They felt it their duty to re-educate these poor unfortunate children.
They had made Angeleeka cry again. Talking badly about her father. One such boy just would not let up, so she crying, ran away, far into the woods. She tripped over a rock and fell into some ditch. A cobra stood up hissing its warning at her. Angeleeka knew she was a dead duck!
The Arch Angel Raphael, guardian to many children, then smacked the snake across the head with an unseen hand. "You stop that!" he retorted and opened up the way of communication now between the child and the snake. Also opening up Angeleeka's eyes to see the beautiful creature that this female cobra actually was.
"What do you want! Why are you here? Who are you - who are you?" the snake bombarded Angeleek with many questions. She just looked at it. "I' - I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I tripped and fell in here," Angeleeka now told it and the snake understood.
"How is this possible, human, that I can understand you?" she asked.
"I don't know???" Angeleeka replied, just as odd feeling. Raphael was smiling ear to ear.
"You showing off again?" he was then startled by the booming voice of his superior, Gabriel, who had now appeared.
"No! The snake would of bit her," Raphael said coming to the defense of the child. Gabriel looked at the child now. He looked at the snake too. "What have you done?" he now barked suspiciously. Gabriel knew what Raphael had done could not be undone. It was permanent.
"I wanted these two to be friends," he said.
"Human, can you help me? My sister is caught in a thicket of thorns and is in great pain," the cobra now asked the child. Gabriel and Raphael both watched to see what would happen next.
So Angeleeka went to where the cobra's sister was.
"Stay away! I will bite you and fill your veins up with poison!" Suzy, the other female cobra just hissed and hissed.
"No! She is a friend. She is willing to help you," Cory now spoke to her sister.
"Have you gone mad Cory? Humans are not friends!" Suzy spat.
"She is no ordinary human, Suzy," Cory tried to reason. All the while Angeleeka could understand every word the two snakes were saying to each other.
"Please, I mean you no harm. Let me help," Angeleeka now spoke. Suzy just looked at her. "How can this be? No human has ever been able to speak to us!" Suzy now said.
"I do not understand it myself, but she can," said Cory.
Cory was a dark blue colored Cobra and Suzy was a dark purple.
"You are so beautiful," Angeleeka told Suzy as she began to undo thorns that encamped the snake.
"Stay away!" Suzy hissed and struck out at the human. Angeleeka pulled her hand away just in time or she would of been bit.
Gabriel now interceded and kicked dirt at the snake, and his invisible hand to the child, pulled her away from the snake. It was as if to Angeleeka, that she had lost her balance and fell backward but Angeleeka did feel someone grab hold of her, she could swear by it even but no one was there!
"Suzy!" scolded Cory now, ashamed that her sister would try to harm the girl.
"Did she strike you?" Cory asked the human.
Suzy's fang did indeed puncture slightly the skin of the young girl's back side of her hand. She began to feel nauseated.
"The snake has struck the girl and drawn blood!" Gabriel barked at Raphael then. Raphael knew that in their present state they could not help the child, only escort her if she actually died.
But then came the voice of the Arch Angel Michael whom the Father had just prepared for service to the humans, told the two other Angels not to fear, he was sent to help.
Michael was in a human type form now. Raphael recognized him, for Raph too was in a sort of human state. He still had Angelic powers but not as much as Gabriel had. But Gabriel did not recognize Michael in this state.
"Child, are you alright? Did the snakes strike you?" Michael asked her. Angeleeka noticed a man dressed in a yellow jacket. He had white jeans on and a white cowboy type hat.
"She got scared as I was trying to help her," Angeleeka told the man. "I don't feel so good," she said.
"You struck her!" Cory hissed at her sister. "She was only trying to help you!" Cory scolded more.
"I - I am sorry," Suzy now confessed.
Michael went and picked up the child. The snakes were not afraid of him, Angeleeka noticed. The snakes knew who he was. That he was a winged being that was not a human and meant them no harm. He was one of the caretakers of the Universe. That's what they called him anyway.
Michael picked up the child. He telepathically told the other two Angels near by, that if he got her to the hospital in time, she would make it. But he had to hurry.
"Hold on child, my truck is near by," Michael told her.
"What is your name?" he asked trying to keep her talking. He feared she was starting to go into shock.
"I, I'm Angeleeka, but you can call me Angel," she spoke. She felt so funny now. Michael feared she would soon be unconscious.
"Well, Angel,
