With gasoline at the pump over at $4 a gallon in many places, it is time to take a look at our limited resources. Now would be a good time to switch our method of transportation over the next 20 to 30 years by starting to switch all vehicles on the road to full electric power. The motors are powerful enough, the batteries have increased tremendously by terms of mileage and longevity. By starting to switch over now, we will have a jump on the rest of the world and it will create many jobs.
Creating this tremendous amount of energy required to run the nation can be created by combining several different systems. Building windmills across the nation will create a lot of electricity for the power grid. Designing cars with solar panels in the roof will recharge the batteries while you are at work and your car is in the parking lot. Big trucks can have solar panels all the way down the top of the trailers. Electric motors pull our freight trains, so they will have plenty of power to power the trucks.
With the technology today, we can create enough electricity from the ocean currents to produce enough power to run the whole country. This will not happen over night, but it is the time to start converting now. By bringing the soldiers home and staying out of foreign wars would give plenty of money to fund the project. The soldiers can keep our borders secure and help convert to a mostly electric society.
Our houses can have solar panels installed in various places in the yard. If a new type of roof could be designed for houses that would not need constant replacing, solar panels could then be built into the roof. Even little things can be done which can help. Exercise clubs can produce electricity by hooking generators up to treadmills, stationary bicycles, and other types of exercise equipment. By always thinking of new ways we can work out of the energy crisis for good.
