Hi I'm Isabella Marie Masen. When I was eight years old my parents died in a car crash, with no one to care for me but my older brother Edward Anthony Masen. I love living with my big brother, but sometimes we don't get along. He just doesn't understand that all I had was my parents and now I have nothing at all. This is my story after the crash happened.
Authors note: There is some child discipline so don't be offended or try to say I support child abuse because I don't. Me and child abuse don't get along because we were born enemies and will always stay enemies.
Friday January 18th 1928
I had just reached for the door handle that was always unlocked, when it was flung open and I found myself face to face with my brother. His face was tearstreaked and I immediately realized my parents car wasn't in the driveway where it should have been. I spun around and saw his car sitting on the side of the road in front of the house, before realization sank in.
"You never come here, Eddie," I whispered, and turned to look at him.
"Come inside the house because we need to talk," he said, his voice breaking.
I entered the house quietly, to find it completely messed up. Broken plates were laying in piles on the floor and pictures lay scattered across the dining room table, where he had been sitting when I walked up the walkway. He had a clear view of the windows so he probably got up to get the door for me when he saw me coming.
A set of purple suitcases sat in the middle of the living room and i recognized them as the ones my dad had bought for me in case the need arised.
"Where am I going," I asked, tears pooling in my eyes.
"Sit down," Eddie said, and sat down on the coffee table in front of me.
He took my hands in his and looked into my eyes. "Bella mom and dad were in a car accident shortly after they left for work. They were killed on impact. You're coming to live with me," he whispered, his voice breaking and fresh tears running down his face.
I shook my head and said, "You're lying to me." I yanked my hands from his and ran up the stairs to my room. Slamming the door shut, I flung myself face down on my bed and started to cry. The door creaked open and my brother pulled me off of the bed and into his arms, holding me close as he sunk to his knees sobbing. I pulled back and wiped the tears from his eyes. He stopped crying but the tears still ran down his face.
"Do you want me to drive," I asked, with a small smile.
He laughed at me and climbed to his feet, before picking me up and carrying me out to his car.
