She came in tears, which she had till then desperately hidden,
Her pale, tender skin, wrinkled
And disfigured in her plight,
Her damped lashes glowed among the rays,
I could not help but gape into her space,
Her eyes were red, but beautiful in a way that even the dews were scared to stare..
Her life she said, had a taken a turn,
For the worse, of course
That’s why the tears,
She was in pain of that I was sure,
Her body didn’t hurt, but her limps were sore,
Her every part seemed ruptured and broken,
Only her heart was in place it seemed,
But then delusions come to many in a day,

For her body was in a piece but her soul
Her soul had forgotten her days,
And had left her side for today,

But for my incapability to feel it,
I had understood her plight and its logic had made me sad,
But I couldn’t feel what she felt,
I couldn’t see my body as torn as hers was,
I tried and tried to feel her darkness,
Instead I just felt hollow inside,
It seemed so easy to peep into her world,
But not for a moment could I be a part of it,
I was the closest she had ever know,
Even then I was far away from her beating heart,
I sat and cried yet again,
For this pain seemed so vain,
Teary eyes, for our reason apart,
We stood in the day, hoping for the dark
We didn’t even try to hide our tears,
Only difference was,
She cried for her fears and
I because I couldn’t feel her tears...
