The Journey Home

Drake trembled slowly as he analyzed the scrapbook. His eyes locking on the adoption papers, and the name of his

former home town, Beacon Hills. Pulling out his iphone, the young man located it and walked out of the house. Simply

leaving behind the dead bodies of his loved ones. Now that the full moon had passed he couldn't recall the previous

nights events for all he knew his foster parents were still in bed asleep upstairs. Iether way Drake had been planning

to leave to explore his roots. So now in this moment of perfect silence, of quiet excitement he set out. With only a

backpack hoisted on his shoulders. Inside, was a few pairs of clothes and a picture of his adoptive family. Hitch hiking

simply wasn't an option it was illegal for someone his age and dangerous being only fourteen he would have likely

been taken to the police however the appearance of him walking home from school was a given so it was unlikely

anyone would stop and ask questions especially since he had headphones in. Most runaways were upset and it could

be seen in their eyes or they simply stopped at some point and either returned home, or sat ans waited to be found.

Not Drake, he wasn't going to stop The journey would be long, and difficult. Many hours passed, but finally after what

seemed like and endless amount of walking he arrived at the town sign. Sighing he began walking alongside the

road by some dense woods. The road here was narrow and could be dangerous to walk on. As he looked ahead he

heard a vehicle approaching at normal speed coming up behind him. He moved aside to be sure not to be in the way

as it sounded large. A black van drove past now in his field of vision. However, an aggressive alert bark from behind t

he tinted windows sent it skidding sideways to a halt. Drake paused had the canine sensed what he was even behind closed doors?

Then he saw the window was rolled slightly down.. Suddenly, the door swung open and a large German Shepherd

charged for the boy. Close behind were two men armed with guns. Drakes' eyes widened as adrenaline rushed

through him. Sore legs be damned he wasn't going to die after coming all this way. "oh shi-!" He hissed As the dog

came closer with each stride its large white fangs glistening as it snarled closing in on the young man as it gave

chase. Drake glaared his yellow eyes locking with the dogs and he snarled. The canine stopped dead in his tracks

retreating hastily his tail tucked between his legs as he leaped back into the truck. Drake smirked for a small instant,

before he saw the man pump his shotgun. His mischevious smile quickly faded as he bolted into the woods as fast as

he could, but all the walking had made his stiff and sore. His muscles screamed as he ran as fast as he could. Eyes

wondered down to the leafy forest floor to keep an eye out for large roots or rocks, but they noticed something about

the leaves, didn't seem right. The way they lay there on the ground, a certain patch of them was too light to have

fallen yet. The colors didn't match, and they appeared to have been spread out to cover something. As if they had

been put there by man. Deciding to trust his instincts, The young boy leaped over the dicolored pile landing with a

grunt. Sure enough as his feet touched the ground sending a strong vibration across the ground. A bear trap sprang

up missing him by only a small margin. Drake understood now, he was being hunted by that dog and its' masters.

Just as he was about to resume his running he heard a loud "BANG!" An instant later, his leg buckled as he cried out

in pain. Huffing heavily his yellow eyes glowing in anger. Drake saw the lake and knew it was his only chance. He

leaped down the steep embankment rolling as he staggered to regain his footing. Desperately limping to the shore

and without hesitation, dove into the frigid waters. His backpack wasn't helping him float in fact it made him slow, but it was protecting a portion of him from shot.

The hunters cursed "damnit!" Clicking the safety on their guns and hoisting the straps over their shoulders. The men

began their return to the van, however, they had to tread with caution not to trigger any traps.Drake scrambled out

of the water coughing up black, foul tasting liquid. Because he was so young, the wofsbane was spreading rapidly

through his system. His body was trying to slow it down but without much success. Staggering he collapsed by the

road. Body limp, his pulse faint. The sound of a car is not even acknowledged as Drakes' body shuts its sef down to slow the spread of the poison.

Recalling Tragedy

A red car drove by and stopped quickly. Out stepped a bald black man who quickly identified what type of creature

this was. "What is a werewolf this young doing all by himself?.." Scooping the boy up he placed him in the passanger

side of the car and sped away to his office. Upon arrival the veternarian picked the boy up, and carried him inside.

Grunting he placed the Drake on the metal table, and after removing his backpack, began to examine him. Finding the

bullet wound in his leg rather quickly he went to his medical cabinet and retrieved a powder. Deaton reached into his

pocket for a lighter. He lit the small particles, which sizzled and hissed before he pressed them into the wound. Now

he watched hoping the wolfsbane in the boys system and they type he had used for an antidote matched if not he

would certainly die now, but after a moment he sighed in great relief as the dark veins, which had spread over Drake

slowly returned to normal and the wound completely healed before his eyes. Glancing at his watch he checked the

time and decided it best to contact his employee, who was also a werewolf Scott McCall.

Scott recieved a text from his boss Deaton. "you need to come see this NOW!"Climbing out of bed they young man

dressed pulling on a graphic t-shirt and some jeans a lastly a pair of converse. Replying to his boss he messaged.

"on my way."Climbing on his dirt bike he drove off into the night soon arriving at the vet office. He entered slowly

and walked to the back of the building when he heard Deaton call to him. "back here Scott."The alpha approached

and was stunned to see the form of a boy on the operating table. "is he ok?" "I'm not sure I found him by the road

he was shot with wolfsbane and I treated him but aside from healing he has not moved at all..I may have been

too late." Scott shook his head "but his heart is racing.."Deaton sighed "hmm..take a picture with the flash on I

want to see something." Scott nodded and reached into his pocket, retrieving his cellualar device. He held up his

phone but when the camera flashed the young boy shot up. Eyes glowing alertly. "whoa!" Deaton took a step

back. "careful Scott he still thinks he's being hunted.." Drake put his hands to his head and glanced around wildly

it put him on edge waking up in such an unfamiliar place and with two people he had never met before. His

senses beinggan to hieghten as he became more and more nervous. Drakes' inner wolf clawed to the surface.

Slowly his claws and fangs emerged and he growled lowly. Yellow eyes beaming as he stared at the other two

men but to him they looked more like demons. His wolf vision made everything red but he could still see shapes.

Their eyes however were a bright yellow. The youth's breathing became heavy. He was panicked torn between

defending himself and fleeing.

Scott reached his hand out in a tenative defensive motion as he stood protectively in front of Deaton. "it's ok just

calm down..we aren't going to hurt you."Drake shook his head. "You don't understand..I can't control it..." Scott

nodded quickly speaking softly. "is it the full moon?" The teen nodded. "I was just coming here..to look for my

family...my parents..my adoptive parents.." Flashes of memories came back to Drake within his mind. Things his

wolf had kept him from seeing but now he quickly began to tremble as he realized what he had done. "oh my

gosh..I killed them." Scott could believe a fourteen year kid as kind looking as this boy, could have meant to do

something so horrible. "I'm so sorry.." Drake crouched down lowering himself he began to shudder with ragged

gasps for air. Before he fcollapsed over on his side body stiffening. Deaton eyes widened in alarm. "oh no.." Scott

blinked "oh no what?! what's oh no?" Deaton picked the boy up "He's gone inwards into his heart from grief from

killing his adoptive parents.. it can happen young werewolves."Scott watched anxiously. "well is that bad?"Deaton

nodded "very...he's traumatized and he hates himself so much for what he's done..he wants to give up...if we

don't wake him..If we allow him to stay like this he'll die." Scott swallowed slightly "well how do we wake him

up?!" Deaton thought for a long moment "It has t o be someone related ot him check in his backpack maybe he

has something a photograph anything..anything we can use to find his blood relatives."Scott snatched up the

backpack and tossed out the clothes finding a photo he took it out of the frame. It was of two people a woman

and a man smiling as they held a small boy who slept soundly in their arms. He flipped it over eyes scanning for

perhaps a note or some kind of writing. They widened as he read it dilently to himself then he jogged over to

Deaton. "Our newly adopted son is finally home from the hospital after being treated for smoke inhilation."

Deatons' brows furrowed thoughtfully. "He was involved in a fire.." Scott snapped his fingers. "wait he's from

Beacon Hills..and he is a born werewolf. He has to be someone as young as he is couldn't survive a bite..It has to

be the Hale fire..Derek..He's related to Derek."

Derek awoke and sat up in bed reaching for his phone. Hie blue eyes scanning the text message then looking at

the unconcious boy. "I-it can't be." Grabbing a t-shirt and a pair of jeans he quickly pulled on his shoes. Walking

with purpose towards the door he snatched up his keys. His mind racing as he climbed into his black camaro and

tore out of his parking spot engne roaring to life as he mashed the accelorator."hang
