Mr and Mrs Lindel were ordinary people, both deeply in love with one another and believed they couldn’t live without each other. They’d been childhood sweethearts ever since they’d been introduced by each other’s parents.
Mr Lindel; son of Katherine and John Lindel grew up to become the CEO of a company named Accos a computer programming company. He grew up with a family that many believed wouldn’t work. Most people believed his parents’ marriage would never work due to the fact that Katherine was part of the light order and John was part of the dark order fighting with the dark one to take over the country. He was one of the best. He’d married the love of his life and therefore submitted to disobeying The Dark One and was then forced to leave the dark order and become part of the light order. This failed within a year. John was now a divorcee and also once again part of the dark order, something he’d regretted leaving. Katherine thought for their marriage but gave up knowing that if she’d continued pleading she would have ended up imprisoned or dead.
Mrs Lindel; daughter of Susan and David Ank became an estate agent at an early age of eighteen, she was talented, beautiful and rich. Her father died when she was only eight months old, in a collision with another car as he fell asleep at the wheel. Mrs Lindel and her mother’s lives were spared due to the fact they were in the back of the car and the airbags ejected on time, unfortunately the front airbags didn’t eject. Each year Mrs Lindel and Susan would visit his grave to lay five roses, to remember him. In the absence of a father figure, her uncle stepped in as the male role model seeing as both her mother and uncle believed a child could not grow up efficiently without a male role model. Both of Mrs Lindel’s parents were part of the light order and due to this Mrs Lindel grew up harnessing her powers and becoming part of the light order.
After several years of being together as boyfriend and girlfriend, Mr Lindel decided to ask his beloved to marry him. The ring he’d brought was extravagant, it was golden with a spiral of silver which met upon the top of the ring which joined together to create a holder where the large diamond sat and sparkled in the light. It was perfect.
“Yes.” Mrs Lindel exclaimed with joy and excitement as she’d never thought he’d ask her to marry him.¬
The year was nineteen ninety-seven when they decided to get married, two years after the engagement. Mrs Lindel twenty one and Mr Lindel now twenty two. They’d chosen a classical church built in the early sixteenth century to become wedded and it was beautiful. Angels layered the courtyard; stone gargoyles sat high above the church as if they were guarding the sacred building, the old wooden door to the church gave whoever looked at it a satisfying feeling of being safe; something no other church had given them. It was perfect.
It was finally the day of their marriage, the invites had gone out and everyone except Mr Lindel’s father had replied, why would they want someone as evil as his father there anyway? Mrs and Mr Lindel followed the typical tradition of not seeing each other before the wedding. So Mrs Lindel stayed with her mother and uncle. Mr Lindel stayed with his mother. She was the typical little old lady; the only difference was she hated Mrs Lindel.
Mrs Lindel awoke earlier than expected due to the fact she was nervous she wouldn’t be ready in time. Her dress was hung upon a white coat hanger that matched the colour of her dress. Her dress was laced at the back and spiralled out towards the bottom; she also had a pair of matching heels that gave her an extra three inches. It took her about three hours to get ready. Her mother helping. Her hair was straightened, two plats joined together at the back of her head creating an elegant classical wedding. She’d also placed small sequences in certain places within her hair, these matching her dress.
Mr Lindel went for the typical black suit, long black trousers and polished black shoes; he looked extremely smart and even acquired a positive compliment from his mother which he rarely got. His hair was gelled and stuck back giving him the look of a well-polished young man. He was every girls dream.
The time was now ten in the morning.
It was now time! People began to arrive at the church. Family members, friends and friends of friends who’d also been invited. It was going to be the biggest day of their lives and they’d not even suspected anything. Mr Lindel arrived earlier than Mrs Lindel to get into his position to wait for his future wife. His mother arrived with him and sat next to him seeing as he didn’t have a best man and wanted his family closer than friends. The church began to fill quite quickly.
Mrs Lindel arrived in style. She, her mother and uncle arrived in a magnificent old-styled car which had been polished so many times it reflected as if it were a mirror. The bottom of her dress filled the car as she sat there unable to manoeuvre much. Her uncle had to get out first and help her out because her dress had managed to get stuck, she knew this day was going to be cursed, and something was likely to go wrong.
“Susan. Some help would be much appreciated.” Her uncle exclaimed wanting Susan to at least push her dress out further so her beautiful daughter would be able to escape the grasp of the car.
“I’m trying.” She replied miming exactly what he’d just said arrogantly.
“Will the pair of you listen to yourselves…?” Mrs. Lindel said before falling out of the car, only to be caught by her uncle. “Thank you.” She smiled pushing up her hair making sure nothing had fallen out of place.
She stood upright and the small sequences which were attached to her dress glistened in the sun-light, blinding her uncle. Her mother stepped out behind her carefully, not wanting to step on her sparkling white dress. Her smile caused her uncle to smile. Her father figure, the only man apart from her husband she needed in her life. Even if she did wish she could have known her father more. A tear fell to the floor as he mother watched the pair of them smile at one another. Before they stopped smiling at one another they finished with a long consulting childish hug which reminded her of all her younger years and everything he’d done for her. She was being set free like a dove. The world was her oyster. Hers and soon to be husband.
Mr Lindel waited inside glancing backwards a couple of times believing that time had stopped and this was going to last forever. His mother became impatient as she remembered her wedding day and the way her husband, his father had left.
“Jack. Are you sure you want to go through with this?” She asked trying to catch him off guard so she had a reason to say something to the bride to be and stop the wedding completely. Even though Mrs Lindel had done nothing wrong to her, she instantly hated her. Was it her looks? Her talent? No one knew, even his own mother didn’t have an explanation for her own hatred.
“Mother for Christ sakes!” He shouted drawing some slight attention to himself as he stared briefly at his mother before glancing back towards the door where a beautiful woman in white stood. His face lit up instantly.
All of the guests who sat were now stood looking at the beautiful bride and clapping, her uncle stood by her side about to take her down the aisle. The church had a wonderful feeling to it, it was as if it was a palace and she was centre of attention. The same design of stone angels stood inside as well, had the Gods made it? It looked as if it had. Music suddenly began playing and her uncle took the first step causing Mrs Lindel to escape from her day dream and start walking down the aisle. The light which swarmed in from the colourful stained-glass windows faded as darkness swam across the sky outside. Nothing was going to ruin this perfect day. Not even the weather.
A priest stood at the front of the church smiling looking at the bride and groom, his white roman collar standing out from the black suit which he wore to declare he was a man of God.
Jack greeted his soon to be wife by kneeling down on one knee and kissing her small peach coloured hand. It was if it was a dream. She never wanted it to end. He stood up again and shook her uncle’s hand. They then walked towards the priest and stopped in front of him ready to be married.
“We are gathered here today to witness the marriage of Jack Lindel and Sophie Ank.” The priest stated and continued. “If there is anyone who objects to this union; please speak now or forever hold your peace.” He said again.
Mr. Lindel’s mother thought to herself but decided not to say anything due to the fact she only wanted to see her son happy.
“Do you, Jack Lindel take Sophie Ank as your lawfully wedded wife?” The priest asked.
“I do.” He smiled looking into her eyes.
“And do you, Sophie Ank take Jack Lindel to be your lawfully wedded husband?” He asked once again.
“I do.” She smiled back at him, looking into his deep tranquilizing blue eyes.
“Then I am hereby sentenced to say I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.” He said watching the couple. Mr. Lindel grabbed his wife bent her backwards and kissed her, they touched lips and then quickly let go of one another. She blushed causing him to go a shade of red also. A storm was now brewing outside as the priest finished.
A dark cloud span around in a circular motion above the church causing the lights inside to switch off, the guests let out a whine filling this peaceful and sacred church to feel as if it were about to be destroyed. A circular hole appeared in the roof as part of the dark cloud swarmed into the church causing panic. Mr. and Mrs. Lindel moved further towards the church as the cloud spun down centrally. A pale white face appeared from the smoke. It quickly disappeared.
“How is the happy couple?” He smirked with a sarcastic tone. The cloud spun spirally back into the sky as it continued its circular motion.
“You! Should not be here.” Mr. Lindel said loudly hoping this would scare the pale faced man to leave.
“Now then, your father.” He continued smirking to himself. “Inca-la” He shouted moving his hands in a circular motion and then pushing them forward straight towards the bride.
A pale grey light flew from the palm of his hands which caused her to fly through the air and land closely to the stained-glass windows. Then Mr. Lindel clicked. The Dark One had come to kill him due to his father’s mistakes.
“Sophie” He shouted about to run towards the heap that lay on the floor.
