Chapter One
_____________________________________________

Val always thought that it would always be her, her mother and her father no matter what had happen. But things had change when she had to live on her own after her parents died. At age 7 Val’s parents died trying to save her life. She remembered that day so clear it was almost like living a dream. Val remembered them telling her to run and never come back. She remembers running in the dark cold night in the woods hearing her mother yelling in pain. All Val could do though was cry as she ran. She didn’t know where to go after that, she had no family that she knew of besides her parents. So Val ran till she reached the road nearby, she was scared and lonely that was a fact. While tears ran down her face she walked to the closest town in Virginia. She didn’t know where to go so she slept on the street till the next day came. As the sun rose the next early morning Val was approach by a woman. It was that woman that invited Val in with open arms and brought her home to a new family.

Val now lives with the Rossi family, one of the friendliest families she ever met. The Rossi family is just like her, Amber Ones. Amber Ones are people with all different types of abilities. Living with the Rossi family was different for Val, but Val learned how to deal with these new things. Val is currently 17 and is a completely new person. She goes to high school with her sister Isabelle and her two brothers Joshua and Luis.

It was early Friday morning and Val had just waked up. She walked to the bathroom to take a quick shower and when she was done she came out the shower with a towel warped around her. Val walked to her bedroom and threw on some jeans, a white t-shirt, a black hoodie with her converse. Once she finished getting dress she went downstairs to the kitchen getting a cup of coffee and something quick to eat before she left to school. Val grabbed her book bag and threw it over her shoulder then made her way outside to the car where her sister Isabelle and her brothers Joshua and Luis were waiting for her.

Once they were at school all of them hanged out in the student parking lot till nine a ‘clock. Once it was nine all four of them headed inside to start their classes. School had gone pretty fast for Val that day and when the last bell of the day rang she got her stuff together and went to her locker. Val had put all her text books that she didn’t need then went outside to find her sister and two brothers. “Hey guys I’m going to go to hang out around the school. I won’t be home late, I promise okay?” She said with a smiled. “Okay Val, just be careful okay?”Isabelle said. “I will.” Val assured her sister.

Val watched them drive away then she started to walk behind the school where no one could see her. She had then teleported to her old house where her and birth parents use to live at. Val went up to her parents’ bedroom and turned on the light. She sat down on their old bed and took out her homework and the photo of her parent’s that she carried everywhere with her. Val looked down at the photo that she held in her hand and said “I really miss you guys.” She but the photo down on the bed then started to do her homework. Once she done she packed all her stuff up and noticed it was pretty late. “Shoot I should get home.” She said to herself. Val then got up off the bed and walked to the door. Before she left she turned around and said. “Bye guys.” Val turned off the light then teleported back home.

“Hey guys, I’m home.” She called out as dropped her book bag on the ground. Haley, her mother, peeked out from the kitchen and looked at Val “Val I was getting worried about you.” Her mother said. “I’m sorry I lost track of time.” She said to her mother then walked kitchen. When Val walked into the kitchen she hugged her mother and started to help her mother cook dinner. Val walked to the sink and washed her hands then started to cut the tomatoes. “How was your day honey?” Haley asked Val. “It was okay it went by pretty fast for some reason.” She said while cutting the tomatoes. “That’s good.”Haley said. While cutting the tomatoes Val cut her finger by mistake. “Ouch.” She said in low voice. “What’s wrong Val?” Lila asked. “I cut myself that all.”Val said as Haley walked over to her and grabbed her hand softly. “Let me see.” Haley said then placed her hand over the cut and the cut healed in seconds. “There you go.” Haley said with a smile. “Thanks.” Val said.

Once dinner was ready everyone sat down but Valentina. She walked out the dining room but before she did Joshua said “What? You’re not eating tonight?” Val shook her head no.”No I’m not all that hungry today.” She said with a small smile. “Oh okay.” He said then Val went upstairs and took a shower. She threw on her PJ’s then laid down on her bed looking at photo of her birth parent on her nightstand. Tears started running down her face, and she cried quietly. Today was the day her parents died 10 years ago.

As she heard someone knock on her door she wiped her face clean. “Who is it?” She asked in a low voice. “Joshua, can I come in?” he asked in a voice that she just couldn’t say no to. So Val answered yes and he walked inside her room. He walked to her bed and sat on the edge of the bed. Val was laying down facing the opposed distraction that Joshua was sitting at. That way he couldn’t see her crying but for sure he knew something was up. “You didn’t really believe that I believed you weren’t really hungry, do you?” He asked in a soft caring voice but Val said nothing. “Come Val, what’s wrong?” He asked her. She finally gave in and started to speak. “Today is the day my mom and dad died.” She said in a low voice. “Oh-I’m sorry.” He said in a low voice then he had laid down beside her. “You know, I never really lost anyone I loved but I do know it must be hard.”He said which made Val turn around facing him. That’s when fresh tears ran down her face and Joshua pulled her close to him and held her tight. She laid her head on his chest and he stoked her hair. “I know you miss them Val.” He said softly and kissed her forehead.

Lying in his arms she closed her eyes and after a few minutes she fall asleep. Soon after Val had fall asleep Joshua had also fall asleep while still holding her in his arms.

Chapter Two
_____________________________________________

When the sun came in through Val’s widow she began to wake up. She looked up at Joshua who started to wake up too. He smiled down at her “Hey, how you are feeling?” he asked her sweetly. “Better.” She said with a smile. “There’s that smile I love.” He said with a smile which made her smile even more. Val sat up in her bed and stretched as her door opened. “Hey Val do you have a…” Isabelle started to say but stopped as she saw Joshua and Val in the same bed. “Um… I’ll just come back…Later.” Isabelle said then walked out the room, closing the door behind her. Val turned around and looked at Joshua “Did she just think…”She said but Joshua cut in. “Thinks we slept together? Yeah, pretty much.” He said with a small laugh. “Wow that’s different.” She said while getting off her bed. “Well I’m going to take shower.” She said while Joshua got up too. Joshua snapped his fingers and Val’s bed was made in seconds. “Thanks.” She said with a smile. “No problem.” He said with a smile.

They both walked out her room and Luis walked out his room looking at them both. “I’m not even going to ask, bro.” Luis said while shaking his head then he went down stairs. Joshua and Val just stood there and both laughed. They both couldn’t believe that everyone thought that they ‘slept together’. Joshua went to his room and Valentina took a shower. Once she was done she threw on skinny jeans, brown boots and a white button down shirt. She straightened out her long blonde hair then she put on her mother’s old necklace.

By the time she was done Joshua had finish taking a shower and had gotten dress already. He was now wearing jeans, a black t-shirt and black converse. His dirty blonde hair was still a bit wet though so he pushed his hair behind his ear. He smiled at her with his beautiful blue eyes. Val smiled back then she went down stairs to the kitchen and Joshua was right behind her. Isabelle and Luis were already in the kitchen. “Why isn’t the happy couple?” Luis said with a smirk. “You guys do know Mom isn’t going to approve this, right?” Isabella said. “Guys we didn’t sleep together.” Joshua said. “Well we did but…” Valentina said but then Joshua finished her sentence. “But we didn’t actually ‘Sleep together.”
Isabella and Luis looked at each other and laugh. “Yeah ah sure…” Luis said. Val gave up, she didn’t feel like arguing and Joshua didn’t ever. “I want cereal,” she mumbled to herself and a bowl of cereal ready to eat with a spoon appeared in her hands. She smiled then sat down on a stool by the counter table and started to eat her cereal. “I hate you just for that. I so wish I had that power.” Isabelle said to Val. Val smiled and stick out her tongue at Isabelle. “Grow up Val.” Luis said. “Bite me.” She said while glaring at him. “You know I would so don’t test me.” Luis said. “What ever.” She said as she finished up her cereal. She got up and put her bowl in the sink. Then she walked out the kitchen and grabbed her jacket. “See you guys later.” She called as she left the house.

Valentina walked out the house and started to walk, she really didn’t know where she was going she just wanted to go out for a walk. As she walked she looked down at her feet counting her footsteps. Then someone appeared next to her, which had made her look up and her eyes found Joshua beside her. “You didn’t really think you would get away from me that easily did you?”He asked her, which made her smile. “You know what Haley said about using your gifts out in the open.” She said to him with a smile and Joshua smiled back at her. “So where exactly are
