Karula y Mitsuki

The spirit gathering demons clustered in the sky above the small village. Though pure white, they brought on an air of disdain as villagers happened to look up to witness the dying sun. One of such gazes watched, sky blue orbs icy with knowledge and confidence. The owner of these eyes notched an arrow on a masterly made longbow in her pale hands.
"Begone demon," she whispered as she let the arrow fly. A tail of peace giving light arched after it, destroying by purification a number of demons. Her lips curled in a warm satisfaction, a breeze picking up and tugging at her kimono, flinging her dark brown ponytail away from her back. She notched another arrow when a demonic presence, a powerful one at that, stood just a few feet away from her. "What do you want?"
The demon didn't answer. She focused more on the aura around her of every living thing. She knew this one, distinct in her memory, but she did not know his name. She released the arrow and calmly faced him. His human like features still caught her off guard. His young face, framed with silk black hair, stayed emotionless as his auburn gaze met hers. A sliver of green decorated his forehead, sitting perfectly in his handsome features. She had seen him before in the forest, once holding her between life and death when a bull demon had chased her to a ravine. He had watched her purify demons and use her power with spirits. He never intervened nor touched her in defense of his fellow demons.
"Well?" she pressed, the bow touching her side lightly in a relax manor. She always found herself at ease with this nameless demon. His gaze turned up to the remaining demons.
"They gather here because of your power," he stated. She hid her surprise at hearing his voice with a mastered bemused expression but felt a rush of pleasure just hearing it.
"Really? I didn't think of that," she replied honestly. She turned her gaze back to the threat. "You have numerous years of experience. What would you suggest, if I may ask?"
She could feel his gaze on her. She truly wondered what to do. All her life, a horde of demons haunted her beautiful skies, particularly when she lived in the shrine that had once protected the surrounding mountains. Her father's shaman powers ran through her blood.
"Mitsuki," his voice, hardly a whisper, startled her. Her mind, once focused on her father's face, had turned to this demon and the light touch of his fingers brushing her arm. She hadn't realized that he knew her name and it made her heart pound in her ears. Mitsuki faced him, open to any suggestion from him, the only demon she believed she could trust. His eyes had hardened and had a slight tint of silver. "Leave."
Darkness erupted from the village. The powerful gathering of youki overloaded Mitsuki's senses, taking her sight of the demon's face. Leave? She thought in fear. This village had taken her in, became a home for her. All the youki and lack of vision scared her, as if she might die right this moment. That was her ultimate fear: death. Still, she could feel the demon's touch and she fumbled to grab a reassuring hold on silk cloth.
"What's happening, demon?" she questioned, sounding calm even though the blindness gave her the feeling of drowning. Her hearing sharpened and she could now hear the crying of children and shouts for help. Mitsuki squeezed her eyes shut, trying desperately to focus. Maybe she could use her hearing to aim. Fingertips whispered over her eyelids.
"You are not use to youki like this. I could help you..." the demon trailed off, his hesitation catching Mitsuki's attention.
"At what price?" she demanded softly, trying to bottle her fear.
"One, you will leave. Two, you would be leaving with me. To become use to that much youki you would have to spend a lot of time with stronger youki. And that's if you agree to that, priestess."
His fingers trailed to her cheek, softly caressing it. Mitsuki liked the feel, so gentle and tender and... so not demon-like.
"Demon, I don't know your name, yet you know mine," she said, resisting a smile. She heard a soft snort.
"I'll only tell you if you come with me," he replied. Mituski smiled now and opened her eyes. She could see his soft smile and the warmth in his eyes as well ass becoming way too aware of how close they stood together. She leaned into his touch.
"How long have you loved me, I wonder. A fool would ask me to 'run away' but a fool you are now," she murmured.
"Is that yes or no, priestess?"
"Correction. You are a fool for asking when you know it is yes," she giggled. He cut it off by chastely kissing her.
"My name is Karula, M'Lady Priestess Mitsuki."
