Exile

Dear Journal

,
The summer solstice is in just a few days and soon I'll have to leave Bend, Oregon. The summer here in Bend is way to harsh for my vampire skin. So I have to drive eight hours every June 20 at 12:00 PM to Forks, Washington to stay with my father. I have only one friend there and her name is Iris. The worst part about being a vampire is that you are very lonely. My skin is so pale that it turns purple in ultra violet light and I have to wear eye contacts to hide my luminous gold eyes. I hate it. I'm a 117 year old woman trapped inside a 17 year old girl. It is my own body but I should have died at least thirty years ago. Only my parents and my older sister Amanda know that I am a vampire and they aren't even my real family. My biological parents passed away one hundred years ago and I was an only child. The whole family was attacked by two vampires. Only I survived the deadly venom and became a vampire. My mom and dad's body couldn't handle the toxins and it killed them. I haven't aged since then. I can't die unless if another vampire kills me and I have never seen another vampire in my life. I have to go now.

yours in eternity
Sapphire Black

I quickly saved my journal entry on to my lap top and then shut it down. "Fire, you need to hurry up. School starts in twenty minutes!"
My older sister bellowed."I'm coming Amanda."
I swiftly made my bed and put on my makeup before I walked down stairs. I sat down next to my sister at the table, mom and dad sat across from us. We all ate our breakfast in silence. I heard a growl come from my stomach and a pang of hunger. Bacon wasn't going to satisfy my vampiric needs, mom glanced at me and knew immediately."You may be excused Sapphire."
I managed a smile."Thank you."
I quickly jumped out of my seat and walked out the door. I checked to make sure know one was looking and then almost immediately I was flying through the trees. I caught a decent deer and sat by a tree to drink. When I was finished I washed the blood off of my face and ran back home. By the time I got there, Amanda was just getting in the car. I walked inside to grab my backpack and then took the front seat next to Amanda. I would run to school, I could get there faster then any car, but it was to big of a risk of being seen. I could take the mountain path I had made, but I wouldn't be on time for school, plus there could be hikers. Amanda backed out of the drive way and I relaxed into the seat. My blood bottle sloshed around in my backpack. It was my favorite blood, mountain lion. Their blood was far more nutritious for me, like water is for humans. I took out a book from my bag and began to read. After she had finished a chapter and was starting the next one, the car stopped. "We're here", Amanda announced. I sat up again and put my book back in my bag. "Thanks Mandy", I said as I reached for my stuff."Your welcome, remember don't starve yourself. It's dangerous!" OK!"
I yelled back. I slowly confronted Storm Summit high school. A sea of kids blocked the entrance. This was the last year of high school and soon I'd have to graduate again. I wanted to stop a long time ago. Slow down, find love, start a family, get old, and die. But instead I'm going to spend my entire life going to school or slacking off in a forest somewhere sucking the life out of all the animals on the mountain. I was a monster now. During the beginning of my vampire years I killed twelve men in one week. In that entire time I killed hundreds of innocent and non innocent humans.
