Chapter One

Alex.

The snap of twigs made him suddenly look up. Instantly alert he listened to pin point the noise. He sniffed. A strange scent flooded his senses. He paused. Alert. The sound came again. Something was on the path. Noiselessly he made his way towards his prey. Silently he picked his way through the scrub like a silent torpedo. The noise was louder now, he was getting close. This would be easy. His prey continued on. Oblivious to his presence. He was getting even more closer and he could see the figure of his prey. He carried on curious. His ears twitched. His nose tingled. His stomach growled. It was feeding time. He suddenly leaped out of the forest opening and growled.

Jessica.

Jessica sighed as she walked along the cobblestone path. She had her head down and her hands in her pockets. Her Chestnut brown hair falling softly infront of her face. The wind howled around causing her hair to fall into her eyes. She tilted her head up slowly and brushed the remains of her hair out of her dark brown eyes. She sighed again and kicked another pebble and it skipped across the path. Turning a corner she heard a snap. She looked into the woods where it came from but shrugged and carried on walking.

"Probably just a little critter." She turned another corner. Then another, then stopped. She studied her surrondings and smiled. She remembered how her and her father used to come here. Tears of happiness rolled down her rosy cheeks and she wiped them away furiously and kept on walking. Then suddenly before she knew it a big gush of wind brushed right past her face. Closing her eyes she slowly opened them only to see what lay infront of her. A Wolf.

The Wolf standing before her was light brown. He had some white but only the tips of his toes. He had broad shoulders and was very muscular on the arms. Not hugely muscular at the stomach but tough when he tensed it. The wolf had quite chunky thighs, but that wasnt the scariest thing about him. As the wolf stared at me I stared back until i felt the connection between us starting to feel raw, and taut, and vital, in no way i could explain. I'd never felt so exposed and vunerable, yet confident of my own safety. I felt like he could see past my eyes into parts of me no one had ever seen before. I gulped terrified of two things.

1. Well there was a bloody wolf infront of me snarling ready to pounce. Duuh?!

2. I think iv seen this wolf before or these eyes before. I know it sounds strange, well completely bonkers! but i swear i have...

Okay enough of the thinking there is a fucking wolf infront of me! What the hell do I do!? Run. No the wolf is faster than me. Or maybe...Then he lunged for me.

Alex.

When I lunged for her all I wanted to do was rip her to shreads and get my prize. But for some reason I stopped inches away from her and stared into her dark brown eyes. Iv seen these before. In a dream.I stepped back a few places and stared at her. She stared back at me panting heavily. And shocked. Well duuh? Obviously I just almost killed her?! Taking more steps back I turned and ran back into the forest. I stopped suddenly then turned my head to look at the girl staring back at me. I stayed staring at her long enough so see her mouth. Thank you. Before she ran off into the fog which was gathering up. I shook my head and ran off into the forest, trying to forget what happened. And what I would tell the head Alpha why I didnt come home with dinner.

Jessica.

Still shaking Jessica began to run. She had the same image in her head. The Wolf. What was wrong with it. It stared at her then pounced. But it stopped.

"Why did he stop?!" That was a question that was constantly swimming around in her head. "He just stopped then ran away..." But why? She had no time to answer her questions she needed to get home and fast! She ran as fast as her legs could carry her. So that wasnt very fast.

Out of breath and sweating like a pig Jessica finally made it home. Her home was as big as a palace. Outside was a very big garden with oaks, pine trees, sunflowers, and other wild flowers, and down the walls hung creeping vines. In the middle of the garden stood a towering wall. Its height made it look mysterious. She rested on the creepy old fence and panted heavily. Wiping the sweat from her head she walked up the steps and opened her front door. Her House had eleven rooms which were all decorated. The room that she liked most was in the middle of the house which was the living room. It had lots of different coloured rugs, a fireplace that burnt logs and a sofa with lots of different coloured cushions. My mum used to tell me that in the old days this room was used like a store. Jessica ran straight up to her room and shut her door. With tears rolling down her cheeks. She collapsed on her bed and cried. Until there was a knock at her door and she shot right up. It was her mum.

"Oh hey mum." Jessica sighed rolling on her side and wiping her tears away. Her mum looked sad. "Mum? Are you okay, whats wrong?!" Her mum came closer to her bed and sat down next to her. Causing the bed to creak and sink down. Her mum looked at her and her eyes looked bloodshot from crying.

"There's been a murder," She gulped. "Near us, in the forest..." She burst into tears again. Jessica hated seeing her mum cry it killed her inside. She sat up and held onto her.

"Who died mum? Do you know who it was." Jessica feared for the worst.

"Yes I do..." Her voice made her shiver. It was cold. No. It cant be him who died. "He's dead Jess. You're dad's dead."

Thats when the world around her stopped. She could hardly breath. "No..." She choked. "No..." Jessica and her mum sat there both wrapped in eachothers arms. Comforting one another for their tragic loss.

Alex.

Heading back to the pack was terrifying. If you were sent on a hunt to get the packs dinner, then you had to come back with the food. Otherwise...Its best if i dont tell you. Quite terrifying actually. As I was walking in the woods I could hear the crunching of the leaves beneath my paws. I yelped suddenly as I stood on a twig. Yes I know a twig. Im meant to be some scary animal but yet I get scared when I stand on a twig. Some werewolf I am. I could see from the distance that the sun was coming up. Morning. I groaned. I stretched. And yawned. The forest in the morning was breath-taking. Trees as far as the eye can see. Rolling hills and in the distance the high snow covered peaks. The sound of a stream that followed gets louder until it thunders over a fall into a pristine lake. And there were no humans to screw it up. I hoped not anyway.

Chapter Two

Alex.

As i was getting closer to my packs territory i was beginning to shake. I was scared. What was Borug, the Alpha Male going to say. Last time i came home empty handed i had to fight him. I lost obviously. I had left with cuts and brusies. And guess what. He was fine. I laughed bitterly to myslelf. "Jackass." I muttered.

After about ten minutes I made it back to the packs territory and was greeted back by my best friend Charlie.

"Hey man! Welcome back," He hit me hard on the shoulder with his Jet black paw and I winced. "Oh sorry. I keep forgetting you're shoulders still fucked from Borug," He looked behind me with an extremely confused face. "Wheres the food...?" I sighed.

"Yeah about that well..." Charlie cut me off before I could finish my sentance.

"No. You...," He sighed deeply, "You didnt get anything did you?" He stared at me sternly, anger flaring in his blue eyes. I shook my head and walked past him to go find the Alpha male.

Jessica.

Finding out that her father was dead changed her life. Now she would miss out on a lot of things her and her dad never had the chance to do. Probaly because;

1. He was dead. Obviously...

2. He was always in LA or some fancy place shooting a video

3. Or he was with his stupid step-daughters...

Tears rolled down her cheeks and she picked up her mobile from her bedside unit, and lobbed it across her room.
"Fuck my life!" She screamed not realising her mum was sitting behind her door in a puddle of tears. She heard her mum scream. "Mum? Mum! Are you okay whats wrong?" No answer came. "Mum!" Jessica began to panic now, but then she thought she probably just screamed because of the noise of her phone. She shrugged and carried on crying into her pillow. Before she knew she was asleep and having dreams of the wolf.
