Dark Destination 1
Dreams from the Abyss
She slowly rose from the floor, almost wide awake, looked around, and realized that she was no longer in her room: that dirty place that squirmed with centipedes, spiders, and rats. She looked around again and noticed that everything was dark. She sat there for a moment, wondering why she was in this dream again. She steadily got on her feet, stumbling once or twice from feeling so tired and drowsy. She was in the darkness, she didn't feel scared or happy.
Her hand was tangled with her hair. She hated it, how ugly it looked because of the colors. It was dark onyx, with a few streaks of red-ish white that appeared near the tips of her hair. Why did she hate it? Because others hated it as well. She remembered the many times that she was being bullied for it; how it shone red whenever she stood in the sunlight. It wasn't normal. Demon was what they had called her.
She also hated her eyes—the color of blood. No parent would accept a child with that sort of eye color, especially when they was born with it. She pulled away her hair, ignoring them when they lightly snapped.
She started to walk around then. It usually—and eventually—woke her up. After all, this was a dream. Her dream.
All of a sudden, mirrors appeared around her. Immediately, she flinched away from them. They always appeared randomly out of nowhere in a blink of an eye. She had always thought that it was a ghost's doing. But what were the mirrors doing here?
Summoning her courage, she went up to one, looking at the mirror and saw herself. As always, that's what mirrors were supposed to do: reflect an image of what's standing in front of it. She blinked just once, and found herself no longer staring at her reflection. It was a whole different image now.
She saw a girl in the mirror, her face not visible to her since the girl was far away, and hair covering her face. The little girl was strung onto chains, metallic ropes that seemed to drip with her blood and weird transparent circles that surrounded her. It looked like those magical casting circles, like in what that one anime she had seen before:Negima. Why would this mirror show her this image? Why would her dream show her this? This had nothing to do with her.
"What the fuck is this?" she whispered, getting slightly angry. She wanted to sleep and stay in reality.
"You," said a strange voice.
She immediately turned around, wondering who was there.
A man, he was standing behind her at least thirty feet away from her. She blinked, realizing that the man was no longer 30 feet away from her, but several inches. He was standing right next to her, shoulders almost touching. "What? What are you doin—"
"Such a suffering image, it's lovely isn't it?" he said before she could finish her sentence.
"Who—" she paused for a moment, looking at the man who was still looking at the mirror, "What are you?"
"What? You're making it sound like I'm an item," he turned to face her, revealing his face, "Don't you mean who?"
"What are you doing here?" ignoring what he just asked. She wasn't interested on who he is, all she knew that no human would go that fast in a blink of the eye unless he was part of her dream as well.
He got such a perfect skin color, fair skin and dark black hair, but the way he speaks was already getting on her nerves.
"You're rude, y'know that?" he said, facing the mirror again,"I've been here for a long time."
She didn't give a shit if she was being rude, she wanted to wake up from this dream, go back to reality and knock out again, having a goodnight sleep before her alarm clock starts to ring. "For a long time?"
"Do you know what's the meaning of the song 'London Bridge' ?" he asked.
What the fuck is he talking about? she thought to herself.
He stuck out his hand, stabbing his nail into his flesh to let the blood drip from his finger tips down to his wrist. "It's a terrible song about a plague that spreads through out Europe. London Bridge is falling down meaning people is falling to their deaths," he faced the girl again, smirking. "You're like a plague, girl, soon everyone would fall back down to their deaths, this time unable to be reincarnated. No one accepts you, girl and everyone despise you, that is why you're the plague. People who got the plague dies and they cannot have a second life, people who gets murdered by you can't have a second life nor will they reincarnate unless you permit that."
She gritted her teeth, wondering why he was talking about this.
"Do you know why I'm here?" he said, this time he lift his hand up in the air and started to move his hand. Blood was up in the air, smeared. It was as if he was writing on a wall by using his blood.
K-A-V
She widened her eyes as he write the letters.
K-A-V-I-E-R-R-A
"This," he said, not smirking,"is your name, correct?"
She silently backed away from him. "How did y—"
"I told you stupid girl," he faced her again, walking this time, "I've been here for a long time."
She continued to back away, thinking about running, but didn't when he started to speak again.
"You called me here and I obliged by coming here."
She stopped, raising her brow. "I what? No I didn't..."
"There was something you wanted, someone you hated the most, someone you want to kill. Your hatred was so strong, it called me."
She paused. Someone I hate, someone I want to kill... She looked at him, of course, there were always someone who she hated, who she always wanted to kill. "There is..."
He smirked, licking his lips. "I'll be here when you want to call me. But don't forget, there will be a price for it."
"A price?"
He was near her, touching her face softly with his fingers. "Yes, the price is your—"
She immediately opened her eyes, turning herself off the bed. She was on the floor, puffing hard. She looked back on the bed, her falling off the bed wouldn't harm her, she only had a dirty bed cushion and nothing else. She sat up, running her cheek, What the fuck... she looked around, it was still dark. She sat up straight, looking around agian, this time confused. "What was I dreaming earlier?" she said. She stood up, shrugged her shoulders, pushed that aside.
Thump thump!
She immediately flinched, wondering what was happening upstairs. She stared at the stairs that was right behind her for a moment. At first, she thought she should go check it out, but decided not to if something bad would have happened to her. As she sat back down on her bed, she suddenly heard a familiar scream, a little boy scream. Her heart jump, thinking that it might have skipped a beat. She immediately jumped out of the bed and ran up the stairs, accidentally stepping on spiders, but chose to ignore them, they weren't important to her.
She swung the basement door, running through the kitchen into the living room. By the time she reached to the living room, a little boy ran down the stairs, huffing and crying. "Kavierra!!" he screamed.
"T—T'shawn?!" yelled the girl, Kavierra.
He ran to Kavierra and grabbed onto her waist. Kavierra immediately heard harsh steps storming down the stairs. She immediately knew what's going to happen and T'shawn must've done something, again.
They both came out, her stupid parent.
Kavierra pushed T'shawn behind her, preventing them to go near him.
"Fuckin' ass!!" the man yelled, her dad, "Bitch, give me that ass!!"
Kavierra gave him a snarl as if she was a stray wolf. "You think I will?!" she yelled back, "Who do you think you are to call him an ass, fuckin' jackass!" She didn't care if he would come at her with a knife. She'll kill him if he did.
He gave her that stare,"You dare talk back to me like that?!" he yelled, furiously. He ran up to him, pulling her hair, then slapped her.
"Kavi!!!" the little boy yelled, scared and frightened.
"Stay back!" she yelled. She couldn't send him downstairs, that wench who was standing behind the man, smiling, would go after him. The only thing she could do is let him stay near her, knowing that he would suffer later on by watching this.
The man started to beat her, giving her bruises on her arm, legs, back, almost everywhere. What should she suppose to do? If she fight back, things would get longer, she didn't want T'shawn doing that too. She relied on him for money, that's how she survived during these harsh years with T'shawn. She just let him beat her, whenever he tried to reach T'shawn, she would either push back his hand by force to move T'shawn away. But, doing this only made him hit her more.
To prevent the man from hitting T'shawn and the woman trying to reach for him, she grabbed him, wrapping her arms around him tightly, facing her front toward the corner of the walk and her back faces her parents, letting them beat her back up and pulling her hair to move.
Few minutes later, after the man had realized that she wouldn't budge at all, he screamed at Kavierra and left them alone, bringing the woman along with him who was in disappointment.
Kavierra slowly lifted her head up, wondering when to move back downstairs. She didn't hear footsteps, nor did she hear their abnormal heartbeat. She quickly ran downstairs, shutting the door and locking it. Back then, she made sure that she switched the doorknob, the lock switch in the basement.
She carefully carried T'shawn who was weeping silently. She put him on her bed, patting his head. "Don't worry, T'shawn," said Kavierra,"I'm still here."
He didn't respond, he was probably still scared. Kavierra sat right next to him, rubbing his back, including her own, till he calm down.
She examined her brother, making sure there weren't any bruises on him. His brown hair, all wavy and tangled matched his pale skin, a sign that he haven't been outside so much. His hazelnut brown eyes that was filled with tears, and his messy clothes. The shirt he was wearing wasn't even his proper size, it was Kavierra's old red t-shirt and the pants he was wearing was a green marked with red markers.
He finally lifted his head up, wiping tears away first, then reaching underneath his pants.
Kavierra looked at him, wondering what he was doing. "T'shawn?"
He pulled out money that were in hundred dollar bills, not only that they were money, they came in stacks. T'shawn pulled out three stacks of them and sniffed. Kavierra was shocked, dumbfounded. "Kavi was trying to earn money, so I help too..." he said, "I want you to be happy too."
Kavierra smiled and hugged him. They could now buy clothes, food, and items they needed. She now understand why the man was
