7:35 am 14th JUNE
“June !Please !”Grace ,my best friend said on the cell phone.
“And why should I do this for ya ?” I mused .
“Cause you’re one of my most trusted friend.”
“Eeeh...really?”
“Yes! And there’s only you who can persuade queen Botox of giving me another chance of passing the test !”
“Since when were you interested in your studies ?
“Since that BITCH ,threatened me of kicking me out !”
“Grace , I’m on my way to school ,so see ya !”
“But-“
I hung up.
***********************
“Meow”
A cat? I thought and looked at my feet.
Of course it was a cat. I don’t think we ‘d seen other animals than cat mewing here and there.
I took in a deep breath and gazed at the little being. I smiled and bent to take it into my arms but it was in vain as it went away. Unconsciously I ran after it and the most surprising is that it stopped half way .
I grinned.
Got you , I thought .
I slowed my pace , focussing myself on the cat . And that’s when a car honk was audible...
Everything that happened next was fast . The car hit me and I was agonizing in pain .
“Hey!”
Black out.
========================================= “Do you think she’ll be okay?” I heard my mum say.
“Well, she lost a lot of blood and that’s why she fainted but I think she’ll be okay. Is she anaemic?”A male voice queried.
“No, why?”
“She looked pretty pale and...”
“Oh that’s natural!”
“Hmmmm okay-”
A door slammed.
“Is she okay?!”A rather worried voice said.
Grace...
“Yes ...”my mum said faintly.
“Thanks god!”
“Gra-”
“Hey,where the hell is that bastard who hit her!?”
“Well, it seems like it is Jade fault.”
“What!?You are kidding ,right?”
“I’m not.”
There was a dead silence. My eyes snapped open.
“Mum...”I said and gazed at her.
The three of them stared at me and suddenly I felt like a kind of freak.
“Oh goddess, you wake up!”My mum said in tears. I smiled.
Grace gave me a “you scared me to death” look and grinned.
Her slender feature seemed to over shine the room. Her cafe latte skin glowed as her glossy chestnut hair fell on her shoulders and her smouldering grey eyes looked intently at me. A replica of Nefertiti .
She was dressed in black from head to toe. Black converse and a black sleeveless shirt on which was written “Te quierro”.
I eyed her and then looked at my mum. At her meek self. Her strawberry blonde hair attached in a low ponytail.
I should be grateful as she has always been there for me though I am not her real daughter. I was adopted by my mum and dad when I was just a toddler .
And since then I’ve been Jade Olsen.
************
I barged in my room and instantly jumped on my bed.
“If you break a bone, don’t blame me.”Grace said standing by the door with her hands on her hips."Leave it G!"I mumbled."The doctor said that I was okay."
"Hey!He also added that you lost a large amount of blood so be careful."
"But he also said that I could go to school tomorrow!"
"Yes but-Wait a sec', you're going to school tomorrow!?"
"Eeeeh... yes..."I said hesitantly.
"No way!"
"Why?!I'll be okay and you'll be with me..."I said and sat up.
"We'LL SEE."
"There's no'we'll see'!I'll go un point c'est tout!"
G took a deep breath"Stubborn girl."She mumbled.
"Is it a yes?"
"Seem so!"
"Thanks sweety!"
***************
The next day.
"So how do I look?"G asked in front of the mirror.
She wore a lovely blouse in an array of paisleys and a black mini tailored skirt with black sneakers. Her hair was attached in a ponytail and she had a black head band ornated with a bow.
She was flawless, peerless and wordless was her beauty.
