How come when you tell someone you love them they throw it back in your faces? Why does society discriminate against homosexuals? Why does every teenager out there want to kill themselves? Well it all started with a little wish on a star...
Julie was on her balcony one night, looking up at the stars, thinking. She was thinking about her life, her sorrow, her pain. Someone told her earlier that day that if you wished upon a star your dreams would come true and your worries would go away. Her feet carried her into the field below, she never knows why she did it, she was just drawn to it. "Are the rumors true," she called out to the never ending sky. She waited a few moments and right when she moved herself onto her knees a star came down and landed softly in her hand. It glowed brightly and she had to shield her eyes; it looked hot but it was cold to the touch. Before long Julie thought she had a small sun in her hands.
She laid the star in the grass, to watch it better, but it stopped glowing so she had to pick it up again. Then she closed her eyes and made her first wish. "I wish that Tom Veran would love me." The world shifted. It seemed like every inch of it had grown darker, but Julie shrugged it off as the night coming. She was tempted to leave the rock outside but anytime her hand left it the shine was disappear so she kept with her as she walked inside and picked up the phone.
Riiiing! Riiiiing!
The phone rang but soon there was a male's voice on the other end. "Hello," Tom asked.
"Hi," Julie replied.
"Oh, hey, Julie is there something you need?"
"Just wanted to say I love you."
"Oh..." There was silence on the other end and then a click. Julie's heart broke. The phone was flung to the other side of the room by her hand while her feet took her up the stairs and into bed...
So, that is why love is thrown back. Because of a wish..on a star.
Numaria and Elinaria were mates but the catch is that they were both girls. Everyone knew about it, it was no surprise either, but it didn't mean they enjoyed it. The girls never knew why everyone hated them for it, they didn't even know why they thought it was their faults. All they knew was that they loved each other and they wouldn't give up just because of what others said. As they walked down the hallway, snickers were thrown every where. Even the teachers joined in and laughed at them holding hands. Tears were starting to form in Numaria's eyes but she knew she couldn't let them leak, not until later that night, into her pillow.
Elinaria, on the other hand, was strong and didn't care what the others thought or said. They were who they were and they could deal with it. But later that night she would go and comfort Numaria. And that is what she did. They were inside, having a cup of tea, when it happened. Elinaria rubbed the tea pot the wrong way and a bunch of smoke came out. "Well, well, well guess someone did find me," the green genie said.
"Are you an alein," Numaria asked.
"No, I'm a Genie." When they stared at him blankly he continued, "You know to grant you three, er, one wish. I would grant you more but I've already ran into someone and one wish was for money and another to be put in a spot so I'd never be found.. guess it didn't work out that well."
Elinaria watched as many possibilities flowed through Numaria's head. "What about if people weren't rude to homosexuals?" Before Elinaria could respond the genie clapped his hands.
"Yes, I'm free!" The genie ran off and clapped, making himself disappear. There was a knock at the door so both of the girls got up and ran. When they opened it eggs, toilet paper, and posters plaster Numaria's house.
YOU WILL BURN IN HELL
FOR YOUR SINS!
Numaria closed the door and lowered herself onto her knees, crying. It seemed like the exact opposite had happened..
Damion and Clara was all anyone could yell. They were popular, rich, and caring. No one cared that they dressed like gothic people and had red marks on their wrists. One day Clara decided she had had enough, she didn't want to live anymore, so she called Damion and told him to come over. Damion, being her boyfriend, did. They held each other's hands and they kissed once.
They also held each other's hands when they decided to kill themselves, plunging the knife deep into their chest and letting it hit their hearts. Much to their mother's horror when she walked in and found Clara with Damion, dead. Throughout the week everyone mourned the teenagers and soon found that in reality it was what every single one of them wanted to do at one point.
Clara's mom was the counsler at school and when all of these teenagers started coming she couldn't help but pity them. Why couldn't they know normal lives? Why couldn't they live a day without wanting to pop pills or stab themselves? But what hurt her the most was that her own daughter did it. Her own daughter wanted to kill herself. Sophia had worked hard to feed her, clothe her, and make sure Clara was happy. It was like it was all being thrown back into her face.
Later on, Friday night, she went outside and into the fenced-in backyard. A few moments later she was down on her hands and knees crying, mourning. A small tree sprite danced its way over to her and landed on her hand. Along with the tree sprite came a small chunk of a star. That is what the green sprite left with Sophia.
Sophia grabbed the object that had mysteriously appeared in her hands, it was glowing. She went inside with it and sat on her bed. An idea of making a wish onto the star came to her and she decided that she didn't have anything to lose. "I wish that..no teenager would want to harm themselves or others in any way, shape, or form." Unfortunately, the next day she went to school. To her surprise, gangs had started, guns were shot, students were killed, and teachers even committed suicide.
Torture filled her as she couldn't help but think it was her fault. Her fault all of this happened...and maybe in some small way it was...if only she knew what the "star" really was.
1st story: Julie's Tale.
The star's in the story aren't stars but actual chunks of the sun so when they wished on it, it went backwards because, well, the sun comes out in the day while the stars come out at night..if that makes sense.
2nd Story: Elinaria's and Numaria's Tale.
The girl's wished on a green genie, everyone knows Genies are bad news from the word go. So when they wished their wish it ended up being backwards since the genie turned what they wanted around because he was going to be free afterwards anyways.
3rd Story: Sophia's Tale.
This was originally called "Clara's and Damion's Tale" but I decided to change it since they died very early on. Again Sophia wished upon the sun not a star so it was reversed.
Explanation for the Creation:
Call me crazy but I thought this would be an interesting twist and plus it's not that long but yet it is still three stories. Thank you for reading! Questions? Ask me.
