Shivering from the relentless rain running down my already soaked body, I cursed every god or goddess I could remember reading about. In the state I was in, I didn’t really believe I could make it much farther for the night. My bright green eyes were flashing in pain as I took in the damage done to my body.
Three broken ribs, a sprained left ankle, and a badly twisted wrist. Considering what I just tried to do, I guess this should be considered a minor injury. No… not tried… I did do it. WanderingShadow, son of none, escaped from Midnight Manor!
Only a week ago, I had completely given up any hope of ever seeing the sun again. Now, though badly injured and still being chased, I was free! Granted, I also had no clue where the hell I was… Though pampered and provided with almost anything we wanted, Midnight Manor only allowed us to learn so much about the outside world. The only thing useful that I took from that place was knowledge on various types of martial arts and weaponry from books. That and my name. The name that they had taken from me so long ago.
Wrapping my light gray cloak around me tightly, I slowly made my way through the deathly silent streets of Whitechapel London. Or at least that’s what the sign said. I hardly cared at this point. My sprained ankle was swelling and making my process slow and painful, but I could, thankfully, hear friendly shouts coming from a building not far down the road.
