One warm night I found a scale. This scale was the color of my eyes and was very, well, slimy. It was much bigger then any scale I had ever seen. My father worked as a pro fisher, big game, when he was still alive. I used to help him on his boat so I had seen some big fish. It was about the size of a half dollar coin. I was on the beach when this happened, it was midnight or so and I was alone besides my dog, Journey. I looked around and out over the sea and saw, in the light of the moon, a women. She looked amazing, beautiful and enjoyable, Journey started barking and ran in the opposite direction. I don't know why but instinctively I removed my shirt, ignoring the faint sound of my dog in the distance, and jumped in the water, never taking my eyes off her. I swam out to her and when I reached her, she looked different from any girl i had ever seen. Her skin like snow and her hair was blue, comparable to my ex girl friends. She dunked her head under water and when she came back up she looked at me, she wasn't surprised or scared she just, smiled.
TricklesAs this amazing girl smiled the most perfect little smile small drops of water trickled down her face into the ocean. I stared, and couldn't look away as if I were in a trance of her beauty. She turned around and beckoned to me behind her back. I followed, she went under and then I saw it, her tail. Thats when I realized what I had found on the beach, the scale, it was hers. That tail of hers that beautiful aqua blue tail that matched my eyes, that's what made her so beautiful, she was a mermaid. That trance inwhich I could not break was due to her being a mermaid. Although I knew I was not going to make it out of the water the same that night, I fallowed. As I went under water I saw bubbles and fins, soon I found the water's bottom. I saw this mermaid and tried to speak, as water went down my throat and I lost oxygen she started fading away into black. I knew I was going to die tonight, but I was mesmerized by how stunning this half naked mermaid really was.
Sand
When I woke up, I felt sand and opened my eyes, I saw two more. One with black hair and one with blonde hair, both with amazing white skin. When the light of the moon hit them, for a moment I swear they were angels. They were looking down on me and giggling. I sat up and noticed that I was now to, different. My legs were no longer there and my hair was longer than it had been when I had almost drown. I looked around and they were looking at me in, wonder. "How do you feel boy?", said the women with the blue hair. Her voice was soft and she sounded almost, British, I loved it. "Um.....yes, i'm fine, who are you?". None of the mermaids answered, they just looked at each other, "Are you really mermaids?". They giggled and looked at were my legs should be, I looked down and all at once it hit me, I was a merman! I panicked and army crawled to edge of the water. I put my head in the water and pulled it back out.
BreathingI started breathing really hard, I shoved my head back in the water, still breathing heavily. That was when I realized I was still breathing while I was under water! Holy crap i'm actually a merman. The mermaids behind me crawled over and pulled my shocked body into the water. I tried to get away and then I realized that my lifed sucked. The only reason I was on the beach tonight was because my girlfriend of three years had just cheated on me with my best friend, my parents were dead and the only thing that was keeping me alive was my girlfriend. Why not? Why not go with these girls and live happy forever? But what about journey, I thought, oh he will be okay his parents were big, tough, dogs so....there was no reason not to go. So that what I did, I swam out and beckoned to them, the blue haired one smiled and they fallowed. We swam away and all lived together in an under water cave that we call Palekaiko which is the Hawiian word for paradise. It's small but right by a reef that is amazing and vibrant and I now love my life.
