There it lurked in the darkest corner, waiting for the next unsuspecting victim which it could devour mercilessly. It seemed to observe me with its countless, black eyes. My neck hairs slowly began to stand up. However, I couldn't turn the look from this fear-giving creature which sat there waiting in the darkness.
The light above me started to flicker. No!, I thought horrified. This light was my only spark of hope! Then it calmed down again.
But, what was this?! It seemed to me as if this horrifying creature had crawled closer a little bit at a short moment of the complete darkness! I would have best stepped back, however, I was not able to.
My look was directed stiffly upon the being there before me and my feet seemed to be festival-cemented on the ground. The countless legs of the monster had millions of bristles on them which perceived absolutely every little movement.
My heart hit so violently in my chest that it almost hurt. Then the scissors-like things in front of its mouth moved and my eyes widened. It was hungry and it could not hold back his crave any more for sure!
Suddenly one of his hairy legs moved a little. I inhaled loudly and fear-fullly. Then I solidified again. Had this been a mistake? We paused both in silence.
There the light above me flickered once more.
Suddenly the monster started running straight ahead me! I squealed in panic and fell backward to the ground.
Now everything was over! I had no more chance! I-
CLAP!
I looked up. There was my man, my rescuer! He stood in the kitchen, the rolled up magazine in the hand. 'My goodness!' , he said with a light shaking of the head. 'Do you always have to make such a big thing out of a small spider?!'

I hope you liked it!
