Meeting David and Creating a Secret

I was lucky I wasn't dead. The champagne had taken effect. I wondered about John, who was my ex-boyfriend and who had broken up with me. I'd fallen in love with a teacher and had sex with him. He was amazing, gorgeous. My Wednesday night job as a stripper was always interesting. I had just waltzed onto stage. I saw a beautiful man with curly blonde hair. He had blue eyes, a perfect jawline, perfect chin. He grinned me, grinning a gorgeous smile.

He carried me to my bed when my shift ended.

"I love you." he said. "Tell me what your name is."

"Nicole."

"I friggin love you. I should tell you right now that I have a girlfriend. A crazy one at that. Tell me which grade your going into."

"I'll be a senior." I'd already bought all my supplies and got my locker combination right.

"Kiss me, Nicole." We made out all night.

"Which school will you go into?"

"I'm in Creak High." He went pale.

"Oh...shit."

"What?"

"Nothing. FYI, my name's David Drake. Here's my number. I should let you sleep babe. Never forget me. Are you eighteen?"

"Yes."

"Take care. I have a feeling we'll see each other soon, love. Good-bye."

I plopped down in my seat. I had first-hour math. I'm really good at it, and I actually enjoy it. Lisah sat down beside me. She was popular, and didn't like me much. But I was her boyfriend's friend, which she had secretly bought an engagement ring for.

"Morning." I said.

"Morning." she said, staring at herself in her compact mirror. She's always looking at herself. She reapplied some pink lipstick.

"So, Victoria's Secret, who's your newest hookup?" she said.

"My only hookup was a super hot guy whom said he didn't like you when I mentioned you." I told her, telling half the truth. She winced.

She thinks every guy she meets or sees automatically likes her. Including other girls' boyfriends. I'd recently heard a rumor that she cheated on Beau with one. Beau walked in the classroom, wearing a huge grin. He took a seat in front of Lisah.

"Hey babe. Hey, Nico."

"Hey, baby."

"Hi, Beau."

I turned to the front just as the bell rang. A slender figure walked in, and my stomach twisted.

Oh crap. I thought. He had blonde hair and blue eyes.

"Hello. My name is David Drake. That's Mr. Drake to you." He saw me, and looked like he had cramps. "Oh crud." he said. Everyone looked at me.

"I thought I saw a bee in her hair, and I'm allergic to bees." he quickly said.

"She is a bee," Lisah whispered.

"Oh, that must make you the Queen Bee." I said. Almost everyone laughed.

"Give her detention!" Lisah told David Drake.

"Well, technically you started it." he said. I fell even more in like with him.

He informed us of his rules, We can eat and drink, just keep it clean. No cell phones. We can use calculators if we need to. This was his first year of teaching math. He went to Kansas University, then Harvard, then Yale. He'd gotten all A's his entire life. His favorite team was the Saints in football, Yankees in baseball. He liked England better than Brazil when it came to soccer.

David Drake was beautiful. That much was true. He'd have a lot of flirting this year. I saw Gina, who was shy but cute, move her dark hair out of her pretty face, which did not happen a lot. Lisah herself wrote down what he looked like and his Dateable Meter. To her, it was 98 %.

Beau saw it. Unfortunate for her, fortunate for every other girl in school. Beau looked at me. "So it's true." he mouthed. I nodded. David explained that we'd study geometry first, then algebra. He said if we needed help in any way, we could go to him. I knew how many girls would fake needing help or fail on purpose.
A cell phone started playing. We all looked around to see who it was who had a cell phone on in class.

"My fault." David muttered as he took out his cell. "I need to take this, my sister's pregnant." he said. "Hello? Yes. Really? Now? It's coming now? I can't be there. No, I'm a math teacher at Creak High. No, my first year. Yes. Give Dalia a kiss for me. Give the baby one too. Thanks, Justin."

"I'm an uncle. Got a niece." he said. Everyone whooped and clapped. He got a lot of congrats and pats on the back. The bell rang.

"Nicole, can I talk to you for a second?" David asked. "

Uh-oh, Nicole has serious issues," Lisah said. Beau frowned.

"Lisah, we need to talk..."

"Good for him." David said, frowning. "He seems nice and he deserves better."

"Yeah, he does."

"Nico, I...I mean...look, what happened never happened. I do love you Nicole but..."

"You have a girlfriend." I said, sighing. He frowned. "A crazy, needy, jealous, controlling, slutty one at that."

He sighed. "Nicole, I'm a teacher, you're a student. We can't be together." He looked up. "Oh, shit." he said. I turned around. Beau was standing there, eyes wide.

"What are you doing here?" "I came to tell you that I broke up with Lisah. She won't bother you anymore. But that's not important. The whole school will know by tomorrow. What's important is, what exactly happened?"

David pulled him aside. I saw a figure nearby. "Lisah." I said. Next thing I knew, Lisah was on top of me, fighting. David and Beau quickly pulled us apart.

"Bitch! Slut! WHORE!!" Lisah shouted. She's called people worse. She even dared call a teacher a T-W-A-T. That got her suspended.

"But sir, it wasn't Nicole's fault." David said. We were at a hearing. Beau and David were there along with Lisah's mom, and my mom. "I appreciate your concern and honesty, but I have to give Nicole at least detention for fighting, even if she didn't start it." Principal Melissa Burns said. "What started it anyway?"

"It was my fault." Beau said. Everyone stared at him. "I broke up with Lisah that morning, and she was mad." "I like your honesty, Beau, but in this case I'll have to dismiss that. That's still no excuse for stalking and fighting. Nicole will serve a thirty-minute detention, which I don't think she deserves, but I have to do something. Lisah, you will serve suspension for one week."

Lisah gasped. "That's not cool!" she shouted. "Lisah, contain yourself! You're lucky I won't add another thirty minutes!" So Lisah got a week's worth, while I only got thirty minutes. David talked with Mom as we walked out. "Ms. Honningham, I can swear this wasn't your daughter's fault. I actually think it was more mine than anybody else's." "Thank you, Mr. Drake." Mom winked at me.

"Isn't he cute?" Mom said as we got in the car. "Heck yeah, he's gorgeous. He's a real gentleman too. On top of that, his sister had a baby this morning." "That's wonderful!" Mom said. "Yeah. Good taste in music too. He listens to Green Day!" "Even better!" Mom said. "If he wasn't your teacher, I'd order you to go out with him!" "I'd be more than happy to!"

My face fell. "Something wrong?" Mom said. "He's got a girlfriend." I told her. "Oh." I knew she was thinking the same thing I was+ : Shoot. Mom was a sucker for young, cute guys. She was currently dating a barista who graduated from college last year. She had long blonde hair, a contrast to my light brown, green eyes, and her face was long. As for me, I've got a heart-shaped face, light brown hair, and blue eyes.

Mom has a Snooki tan, while I've got a Greek tan. My teacher was my only love. Forget John. Let him screw a slut. He'd been dating Josephine, the biggest school slut. Lacy camisoles, crazy way-out-of-the-lines lipstick, huge cat-eyes every day, like to her temples, no bra, new breast implants, fake hair, catfights.

I wanted to kiss David Drake. He was amazing. I walked into my room. I laid down on the purple covers. I wanted David now. My cell phone rang, playing a familiar tune. "How'd you get my number?" I asked him. "Do you remember that night, babe?" "Yes." "I placed my number in your cell just in case and I took your number."

"Nicole, I...look, if you ever need me just call. Nic, I think we're...meant to be." I was shocked. My stomach fell to the floor. "Nic?" "David, I think you're right." "I had a dream the other night. You were in my arms, we were cuddling in my bed. I asked you to marry me, and you said yes. Nicole, I love you so much it hurts." "I love you, too." "Nicole, on Monday, I would like you to come speak to me, whether it be before or after class or school." "All right. Love you." "I love you too. See me, babe. I'll miss you." "Miss you too." "Good-bye." "Bye."

He clicked off. I laid down and went to sleep. That weekend was the worst of my life. Usually I'd go to work or go out but I didn't feel like it. I eventually decided to go to my favorite club on Saturday. I chose my favorite little black dress, added lacy purple tights, and put on ankle boots. I applied green eyeshadow and dark lipstick.

I walked through the door with no problem. But...I saw a lovely face. David Drake. He smiled at me. I smiled back. I walked towards him. "Hey." "Hey." "So..." "Hey, I'll see you later." "What?" "My girlfriend is here." I turned around, and a tall thin beautiful blue-eyed blonde stood there. "Uh, this is my boyfriend bitch." "I know, he's my teacher." I was satisfied with my response, because she squinted.

I sat down in a corner and ordered a virgin strawberry daiquiri. The bartender gave me a flirtatious smile.

"You new here?"

"Not really. I actually go here a lot."

"Oh. Now that you mention it, you do look familiar. I saw you with some dark haired guy. John, right?" he said. My heart broke and my face fell. His did, too. "Not doing so well?" he asked.

"He broke up with me this summer."

"Oh, I'm sorry."

"Eh, there's a million other guys out there."

I smiled at David, which irritated his girlfriend. He smiled back. I decided to go dance a little. "Watch my drink." I told the bartender. "No problem." he said, offering another smile. I went to the other corner of the club. I began shaking my body a little. Before I knew it, David's girlfriend was outside, having broken up with David. Dancing In The Dark played over the loudspeakers.

The Glee version of Hello was next. His arms were around my waist, my hands on his shoulders. The spotlight was on us now. Literally. Girls gaped at David while men stared at my D-size chest. We ignored them. All we could think about was each other.

Before we knew it, the song was over. My first instinct was to kiss him, but he pulled away and I remembered he was my teacher. I grabbed my drink.

"Wait..." David said, but it was too late. I took a drink. Almost immediately after, my throat started burning.

"Something wrong with her?"

"She took a date rape drug!!"

"Where's her boyfriend?" The voices were blurred as I clutched my throat.

When I woke up, I was in a hospital. David had a grey shirt on and was talking to a cop. His shirt was so
