Chapter 1: Conspiracy of Love
Okay. I probably should’ve believed that life could get better. I just never thought that my life would get better. Before, I thought I was destined to go to hell. First, let me go over today.
There’s a new guy who started today. He’s in every one of my classes. He sat at my table today. He rides my bus. The very best thing is, he’s cute.
Sincerely,
Addie Johnson
I sealed the letter and wrote my dad’s address on it. I went out in my jogging outfit, and put the letter into the mailbox. When I turned around, he was there. “Uh, hi,” I stammered.
“Hi,” he said in a velvety, soothing voice. “It’s Addie, right?”
“Yes. You’re Mike, right?” He laughed.
“No. It’s Aran.” Crap. I’m making a fool of myself. Why can’t I have the super ability to be right all the time? Instead, I have the ability to read emotions of people. “Why do you look so flushed?” Crap!
“No reason.” I looked away.
“Where are you going?” he asks.
“I’m going for a run,” I said as calmly as I could.
“Can I join you?” he asks. I look at his outfit for the first time. H e was also in an outfit for jogging.
“Sure. If you can keep up,” I snickered, then turned around and ran away.
“You’d be surprised at how evenly paced I can keep,” he said, quickly catching up. And as he said, he kept my pace easily. We ran from my house, to the park, and back. So it was roughly 2 miles to go to the park and 2 miles to come back.
“Bye,” I say, and then I turn to my house.
“Bye,” I heard him say before I shut my door.

When the next morning came, I was so excited, I could hardly recognize myself. I was so ready to see Aran again. When I got to school, I saw him hanging out with Patricia Williamson. I knew it was too good to be true.
Just as I walked by he said, “Wait up!” Yes. Back to the rightful owner. I am so awesome.
“Why?” I thought you were with the cool people now,” I said accusingly. I’m going to play it cool. This way he’ll be mine.
“Um, no! I’m not friends with some mean person like that. She’s not my kind of girl. Unlike you,” he said nicely.
“Aw, thanks!” I say jokingly. I’m not going to give into him quite so easily.
“Well, um, what do you have now?” LOL. He’s a dumb hot guy. Why is he so into me?
“The same class you have. You’re in all of my class,” I say surprisingly.
“Oh,” he says dumbfoundedly, but I see right through it. He’s probably just trying to make me feel better.
“You can drop the act. I know what really is going on. You don’t have to make me feel better. I’m just naturally stupid. That’s what happens when you’re a blonde.” I pick up my blonde hair to exaggerate my sentence. He starts laughing, and I join in.
“Well, I can honestly say, you seem like a very smart girl,” he says, still chuckling a bit.
“Why thank you, young sir,” I say, going along with his act.
“May I have the honor of walking you to you destination?” he questions old fashionably.
“You may,” I say blushing a deep rose red. He walked me to my seat, and then took one next to me. “You are quite the gentleman,” I say, not quite sure if he gave up on the act yet, or not.
“You can give up the act,” he says just before Patricia walks in.
“Aren’t you going to sit with me?” Patricia asks.
“I felt the need for a change today, but maybe tomorrow.”
“Okay,” she replies, feeling satisfied. Then the teacher walks in while she sits down.
“Class, get quiet now,” Mrs. Feebly says. “Now change your seats. You’re going to get assigned seats, but you get to pick you seats. Move now.” The entire class got up, but me and Aran.
“You better move,” I say. “The queen bitch awaits your arrival,” I say sourly.
“I’ll stay here, if you don’t mind.”
“Okay. All I’m saying is that it’s your funeral. If she doesn’t get her way, she’ll make your life a living hell.”
“I’ll take my chances,” he says right back.
“Well, as you wish my good fellow.” And with that I get up and move with the rest of the class. He gets up, and follows me until I find a seat and sit down. He sits right down next to me. “You’re such a weirdo following me around,” I say until I turn my attention to the teacher.
After class, I storm off to gym without looking back at Aran. I’d rather not have a creepy stalker. Even if it was Aran.

Avoiding Love
I hadn’t talked to Aran in a week, but I was going to that today. I think I’ve given him enough space. When school comes, I find him next to the fountain, alone as usual. “Hello,” I say to him.
“So you decided your going to talk to me again? Because after your remark everyone hated me because you’re popular.”
“Well, that’s changing. Come on now,” I say dragging him to class. I walk up to Patricia and say, “Hey. He’s cool now. Just a misunderstanding.”
“Oh. Good.” When we take our seats, Patricia announces he’s cool.
“Well that was easy,” he says.
“It’s all in who you now,” I reply as the teacher walks in.
"Do you want to go jogging with me today?" I ask as Aran comes up to me.
“Sure. But first, can we make it official?” he asks.
“Make what official?”
“That we’re dating,” he replies as if it were noticeable.
“I’ll think about it,” I say. Then run off with him beside me.
Instead of running to and fro, we just ran to. We stopped to get water, and then sat down on a bench in the park. “So, have you thought about it yet?” he asks breathlessly.
“Yes.”
“Wait, yes to dating, or yes to thinking about it?” I pause to go over his face. And then I waited some more until he becomes extremely frustrated.
“Both.”
“Yes!” he celebrates.
“So,” I conjure. “What do we do now?”
“I don’t know. Uh, hold hands?”
“Okay.” We take each other’s hand and gaze at them. “Should we, you know, kiss?”
“Um, I guess.” He leans in, and his breath is on mine. He has a lemony/minty scent. I lean in and kiss him. My first kiss was nothing compared to this. It was gentle, yet fierce.
It was like we’re soul mates. We lean back and look at each other. “Wow,” he chuckles.
“I know, right?” I’m still in amazement.
“Well we better get going.”
“Right. Let’s go.” We begin to jog back to my house. When we get there, I go to my front door. “Bye.”
“Can’t I come in?”
“Maybe another time.”
“Please? I want to see what you’re really like,” he practically compels.
“Uh. One minute. Let me just…” I open the door, close it and run upstairs. I take down the show of Justin Bieber and put up a poster of Pretty Little Liars. I made my bed, and took down my artwork to put up the Evanescence CD covers in their place.
I raced back down stairs and flew the door open to see Aran outside, not in his jogging outfit, but in a yellow polo and tan shorts. What the fuck? “You left,” I accused.
