Introduction
You know most people would find it hard to lose there mother than, have to go on a quest to find there father, and be only 14 at the time, but for some reason that never bothered me.
Chapter 1
My story begins in West Virginia in 1974. I was living with my mother in our small 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment. You would think that would bother me, but it didn't seeing how my mom and I had a lot in common. My mom got pregnant, and had me when she was sixteen years old, and when my father found out I guess he figured it best if he wasn't around. I have to admitt that sometimes bothers me, but other than that things were actually going pretty good.
My mom had the best job in the world, she got to sing on the radio every morning. Even though my mom didn't agree she had the best voice in all of West Virginia. Im not trying to brag, but it was true, and if you could have heard her you would have said the exact same thing.
Well, thats enough about that lets get back to the real story. Anyway, things were going great, but I was still down over not knowing my father. After 14 years you think I would be over it, but trust me if you were in my shoes, you would have felt the same way.
I used to ask my mom about him every chance I got, but she always said she would tell me when I was ready. You would think since I was pretty mature for my age she would think I was ready, but I thought it was best if I didn't tell her that.
There was an upside to all of this.My two best friends Jenn Heartly and Natasha Ford were always tring to help me find out information, but we hit dead ends every time. Still, it was just fun trying to solve the big mystery together.
Jenn Heartly lived right next door, and i've known her since I was about 4 years old. Jen was the most responsible one of the group' and when it came to school the smartest. Natasha Ford lived down the street, and i've known her since I was about 6. Natasha was the prankster of the group, she was really good at puttin odds and ends together. Me, well I was the talkative one of the group. I was also the writer. I don't think a day whent by when I didn't have a notebook and pen. Oh, and I was also the telivision freak; ask me about any show such as Gunsmoke, Bonanza, the Brady Bunch, ect. and I could tell you what happened in almost every episode. Other than that I was your average american teenager escpecially when it came to school I mean I would have rather starve to death, but mom said if I wanted to make anything out of myself I had to go so I just suffered it with the rest of them. Actually, I usually slept through most of my classes, but I sure hope my mother never found out.

Chapter 2

It was monday morning, and sadly I had to go to school. I went to West Virginia High School, ironic wasn't it. Don't get me wrong I liked School, it was just doing all the work that I hated. On the upside I always had honor roll, so I guess school wasn't so bad. At least thats what I thought until I saw Jenn's gredes. Man I'll tell you their wasn't a day in Jenn's life when she didn't have strate A's. As for Natasha, well she usually got B's and C's. Its not that she didn't try hard, its just that her focas level was about like mine, horrible. I almost died of shock when I got my first honor roll.
Hey Lizzie, wait up. Huh, oh ,sorry Jenn I didn't see you. Of course you didn't you were to busy looking at Tony. Can you blame me I mean come on he is so cute. Yeah, well what did you get on your math test? A 78%, what about you. Oh, I got a 95%. Lucky, so where is Natasha. No idea, she just said to meet her here. Ok, but she better hurry up I gotta get to practice soon. Hello so do I. Yeah, I know, but you haven't been late once, Mr Smith said, if im late one more time im not gonna be allowed to play anymore. That sucks, Hey here she comes. Sorry im late Mr. Porter kept me after class. Why? Something about my 59% on my algebra quiz. You do realize when your mom finds out she's gonna kill you right? No dip sher lock. Guys were gonna be late for practice. Yeah we'd better get going.
Miss Williams, Yeah, im glad to see your on time for once. Well, I would hate to get kicked out of marching band. Glad to see you enjoy it, now please take your seat. Yes sir Mr. band director sir. Miss Williams why don't you start by playing your Bb scale. Wait, why do I have to go first. I asked you to thats why now please play the scale. Ok ok, but I don't see why Jenn can't go first. One more word, and I will give you a detention. Alright, im goin. There, now that wasn't so hard was it. No, good now please get out your show music.
Man Mr. Smith was extra harsh today. Thats what you get for being so sarcastic. Its not my folt it just slips out. Yeah, well, your moms gonna kill you when she finds out. Tell me something I don't know. Hey guys, my dads here I gotta go. Seyah Natasha. Liz I gotta go to so I'll talk to you later, bye.
Hey Lizzie, Yeah, my mom wants to know if you need a ride. No thanks, my mom should be here in a couple of minutes. Ok, sehay, bye.
Mom must be working late today so guess im walkin. Elizabeth, Yeah you need a ride. Oh, hey Bob, yeah, that would be great, but its Lizzie. Hop in. So is your mother workin late tonight? I guess so. Well, when she gets home tell her I said hello you here. Yeah, I'll give her the message, and thanks for the ride. Anytime, You take care now. I will, and thanks.
